At the end of the show, we had to listen to the owner go on and on and on for over an hour while the audience was held hostage and the dancers, including the toddler aged dancers, were forced to sit on stage and listen to awards and acknowledgements that should have been handed out at a different time! Additionally, we were required to pay for the recital videography, which I had no problem with until I viewed it and saw half of my daughter's dance consisted of a zoomed in shot of other dancers. Resulting in me missing half of her routine. Needless to say, we have found a new studio in the area.

I have been in love with the classes ever since! The first time I participated in a class, it was not as difficult as I assumed. I remembered back then, both Alisa and Mallory were so very nice, and professional, I loved taking both of their classes. I also remember taking Ria's class for the first time, and she was such a fiery ball of energy, I loved it! I'm not as consistent as I used to be with attending classes, but there are a majority of classes to participate in. And what I really appreciate and like is that the daily schedule is flexible, and some days the last class offered is at 8:00 p.m., which is very convenient for me. B/c I can get off of work, run errands, prepare dinner, and have time to still exercise in the late evening. I know there is a Mixxed-Fit class that is offered, Zumba, there is a Zumba-Gold class, and several other classes. There are also classes that are offered for children. Again, I can't say enough positives about the studio. The staff are very professional and always so pleasant, the classes are accommodating and there are several classes offered, plus different times accommodate every schedule, and the pricing of the classes are very reasonable. Individuals can pay per class, or purchase passes for different amounts. Studio Z Fitness is worth trying out if close in the Sterling Heights area!

I knew I had to be more physically active as I entered my 50s, but I wasn't the type to go to the gym or run a 5k. After talking to my friends, family, and my awe-inspiring cousin Shelly, I decided to take my first dance lesson at In Movement Ballroom Dance Studio (IMBDS). IMBDS was my first introduction to social and ballroom dancing. I started with a group dance lessons, then took a few more before deciding to take private lessons to continue learning, growing, and becoming more active. I also wanted to feel less awkward since I lacked confidence in my dancing skills. As the weeks turned into months, we had social outings where we danced, attended baseball games, Friday Night open dancing, celebrated birthdays, and contributed to charitable organizations. I even participated in my first dance recital and am preparing for my second. I've been at the studio for only nine months! One of the biggest benefits of taking dance lessons at IMBDS is the boost in confidence that comes with it. When you dance, you're putting yourself out there for others to see. This was a bit scary for me, but with the right instruction and support from the amazing instructors (thank you Jason) , it was also incredibly empowering.
