We haven't gone to an IEP meeting yet so I will update once we do, but I do feel that he is an assesor with integrity which is important. Too many therapists have improper training by districts and deny children a proper assesment. Mr. Wilson's facility is very comprehensive, clean and orderly...he has a big train set in the entrance which instantly calmed my child who loves trains. His front desk staff is kind, respectful and attentive. So far I have a high opinion of this center and this assesor and will bring my other children who need OT services here. I should also add that I've been to many OT centers and some are run in a very "mill"/"factory" way where the kids are pushed through. I did not get that feel here.

Not knowing if it's going to be a good fit, or a parent feeling comfortable doing that. If grocery stores, restaurants and other businesses can have customers walking in and out, I don't see why it's an issue for a child's parent to sit in during a session. i'm sure exposure is already limited by not having normal amount of appointments. if i have to explain, plea or escalate my concerns to be allowed to stay with my child to ensure their safety, then it's probably not a good fit for us.

My son has ADHD and struggles significantly with handwriting and motor planning. Danielle has systematically taught him cursive writing and uses many innovative multi-sensory techniques in her therapy. My son does not realize he is receiving therapy because Danielle makes every session a lot of fun for him. He enjoys the interactive games and motor activities that she implements before and after handwriting practice. I have worked as a school psychologist for 20 years and I only would send my son to Danielle for therapy. She understands the supports and training children need from a developmental perspective.

He started OT on the recommendation of his Kindergarten teacher. Danielle worked with him on fine motor skills, handwriting and sensory support integration. My son looked forward to his sessions, she has tons of cool stuff in her office- a ball pit, trapeze-type swinging contraptions, and more. Perhaps equally important, she has helped me as I have continued to advocate for my son, providing reports for evaluations, counseling me on strategies for school, listening when I needed support, and sharing her opinion when I needed a second set of eyes. We highly recommend Writesteps Pediatric Occupational Therapy. Danielle is passionate about helping children, and she brings such a beautiful combination of knowledge and love to her job. We are so grateful to her!

What really sets Gina apart is her patient-led approach. She meets my son where he is and adjusts each session based on his needs in the moment. Gina is incredibly compassionate, sweet, and attentive to cues. When my son becomes overwhelmed and needs space--sometimes even needing to step into a quiet corner--Gina recognizes this right away and adapts without pressure. That flexibility and understanding helped her build real trust with him. Because Gina listens, observes, and adjusts so thoughtfully, our son feels safe and respected during sessions, and that has made a huge difference in his progress. She is a fantastic representative of Radiant Kids Therapy, and I highly recommend her to any family looking for a caring, patient, and child-centered speech therapist.

One issue was the room was very small, so I would be hitting my body when getting up. The PT or PTA should have moved the table out but I think they moved so this problem is probably resolved. My 2nd issue is one of the Pt or PTA used so much pressure that I had a black and blue bruise and was in a lot pain. My mom, a registered nurse, wanted me to go to urgent care as the bruising was really bad. My 3rd issue is after my prescription ran out from the doctor they told me I so come back for 12 PT more visits. They did not ask me to run that by my doctor at all. I ran it by 2 different orthopedic surgeons who said no wait until after surgery for more PT. The company then called me to schedule even though my doctors said to wait. From my experience, I do not think high of the PT at Proactive at all.

It looked like a gym but didn't smell like a gym.  The cool music was great to listen to as you do your exercises and therapy.  12 sessions later, my constant, excruciating pain (frozen shoulder) is gone!  Leah King was my main physical therapist.  She was knowledgeable, professional, dedicated and patient.  I felt she chose the correct exercises for me to work on my range of motion.  The place's atmosphere was welcoming and everyone knew your name.  Claudia, the receptionist was friendly as she welcomes you and schedules your sessions.  Laura, a student physical therapist assistant was very helpful with the exercises and had a lively personality and always had a smile on her face.  Madeleine, Elliott and Matthew Gray were also involved in my improvement and progress.  Everyone at Spine and Sport worked together to help improve a person's well-being.  I am very happy that my primary care provider referred me to Spine and Sport. Lauren was Luca's therapist even before she joined your practice, and we continued with her there. As Luca is now 4-years-old and I've had the chance to interact with numerous physicians, caretakers, therapists and professionals related to his overall care, I can say with confidence that I am in awe of Lauren. Lauren is a passionate, dedicated and energetic therapist. She showed up to each and every session in our home ready and focused on Luca. She cared very deeply about Luca's progress and went above and beyond to ensure he had every chance to access speech, language and develop to his maximum potential. I appreciated her creative approach to "learn" what Luca liked and disliked, and how she could bring the best out of him. She tailored her activities and approach to Luca's interests and although my nonverbal son is difficult at times to understand from first glance, Lauren successfully navigated their communication styles and was able to have a relationship with Luca. Lauren not only taught Luca, but she also educated my husband and myself, in addition to our nurses and other caretakers to ensure we all had access to learning Luca's best options and what opportunities there are for us all as we continue down this path. She was patient, persistent and opened our eyes to possibilities we would never have known. As a mom, I felt supported fully by Lauren and knew she truly loved my son. That went far beyond any level of care I could ever have asked for - I don't often leave "reviews" but I feel obligated to share how much of a true difference Lauren has made in our lives.

They then recommended a neuro evaluation, which I agreed to, even though it's not really a concern of ours. They said they would write up a care plan and schedule a neuro evaluation as well as a speech evaluation (also video visits). These were scheduled two months out - and the confirmation emails didn't mention speech anywhere - just neuro evals. Since we only need speech therapy, I wanted to get clarification that at least one of these next two evals was for speech. I reached out via phone (twice) and message to verify, and they never responded. I got the first bill of $390 for the initial video consult. I'm sure the next two would have been another $390 each, and who knows when the actual, in-person speech therapy would have even started? I cancelled both and reached out to a free provider in San Diego recommended by our school. He is now scheduled for an in-person therapy session less than a month out. In my opinion, it seems like Cortica is more focused on generating revenue from parents via multiple (pointless) video visits rather than getting kids the help they need. The reviews make sense now!
