The door is around 40 years old so I figured it had reached it's end and I was looking at a $2K+ bill for a new one. The repairman took a quick look, then said there's a few missing bolts and the guide wheels are bent and shot. He had all the necessary parts with him and hour later he replaced all the damaged parts and added a couple bolts for additional support. Then he realigned a bent cross beam and re-bolted it. Previous to the repair, opening and closing the door sounded like an earthquake. After the repair, the door runs smooth as silk. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the cost: less than $200!!!!!

Instead of pouring a solid foundation, they put these poles which are now cracking after two years and the concrete that was on top completely crumbled. They do not stand behind their work. There are far better companies that do the right installation of these mechanical gates. Do not trust them to do the right thing if there are any issues. In addition, they put the gate opener, uneven. The poles aren't level at all. You can make your own decision. Just look at the negligible work. Spare yourself the aggravation and go to Jeff Barrows for your gate needs.

We've worked with both Chris and George over the last year on our garage door and they are great…read more The first issue we just had some strange things happening with the door randomly opening, not wanting to shut, etc. Chris came out, made some adjustments and answered a bunch of questions we had about it. We were convinced our door was dying and might need replacing but he reassured us that even though it was older, just wait until something actually happens because everything else looked good. I appreciated his honesty and transparency and he never was pushy about trying to upsell us (quite the opposite, actually). The more recent interaction was this past week. The spring snapped when I was taking out the trash (haha- maybe I'm off the hook for that now???). The door wouldn't open at all and I had to go into the office the next day. Even though it was around 8pm, we shot them a text and received a response early the next morning and they were able to schedule a time in the early afternoon. They were running early and were actually able to get to work much earlier than the appointment time (yay!) and get us squared away. We worked with George this time and he was great as well- took a look at the rest of the system to make sure things were good and was on his way. They didn't try to upsell, just provided the information about the different types of springs that could be installed and let us decide. If/when we do need to replace the full unit, I will definitely give these guys a call. They have been super responsive, knowledgeable, and get the work done quickly even when pressed for time.

When I needed to schedule a follow up trip to fix a glitch with one of the remotes, the receptionist was courteous and helpful, and the technician arrived within the scheduled slot and fixed the problem in a few minutes at no additional charge. Will use Overhead Door again if needed.
