Had a Gentleman Name Lorenzo replace my garage door opener with a much needed updated one. Lorenzo was professional and had a lot of knowledge about what I needed and what he had to do. The technicians showed up and started doing the job of replacing my garage door. Halfway through the owner Gary Lang, called the one technician and fired him while he was on the job. This was not only poorly handled but it was also a dangerous situation to put a customer in and my home, as we don't know how one handles an abrupt loss of employment. I would never give this company another job, I feel the owner has no interpersonal skills as a manager. The door is good, the job completed, but who needs this kind of drama. read more

We had an okay experience with this company when they installed new garage doors--we had to call the guy back for a basic error. We weren't sure we wanted to go with them again to install locks, but it was a great experience. Joe D. was very professional, thorough, and friendly. He got the job done and then showed me all the necessary stuff the last guy hadn't, by explaining the machinery and how to maintain it. Recently, while my husband and I were out of the country, our house sitter had a problem with the key pad on our garage door. The remote still worked, and she wasn't locked out of the house, but she was worried. She decided to call a garage door company and have the door checked out. We had used Precision for some service in the past, but had not used them since 2013. However, Precision had put a sticker on our garage door opener, so she thought that she should call them. Precision came out and scared her. They said the cables were frayed, the drums were bad (they are the thing around which the cables are wound), and the brackets were ruined. They told her that these things had to be repaired right away to avert a disaster. Our house sitter told the service person that she was not the homeowner. He impressed on her that the door was extremely dangerous and should be repaired right away. She decided to authorize it. That was not a good decision. Precision charged $539 dollars for that repair, which our house sitter put on her credit card. After making the repair, to try and impress on us the bad condition of the frayed cables, the service person left everything he took off the garage except the key pad, which we suspect just needed a new battery. The replacement cost $98.00. When I got home, four days later, I had an estimate done by a different company for the work Precision did. Not only did the second company come up with a much lower price, $226, but they noted that the invoice Precision gave us misrepresented the drums that had been put on our doors. According to Precision's invoice, the drums were sized at 400/12 when they actually used 400/8. The difference is between a commercial drum meant to handle a large 12-foot door and an 8-foot door which is what ours was. They gave us the 400/8, but charged us for the 400/12s. Not only that, but the drums were in perfect condition and did not need to be replaced at all. On their invoice each drum was $120. All told, the things that did not need to be replaced, the two drums and the keypad, was $238 of the invoice price. I called Precision. First, I asked them why that had rushed to work on a home when they knew they weren't dealing with the home owner. I said that the house sitter had no authority to do that repair. Precision's owner said, and I quote, "he doesn't know who he is doing work for, it could be a child molester, but that is none of his business." He also told me that he didn't know why I was so upset about a minor repair. I don't consider a $539 repair minor, especially when I could have had it done for less than half. I asked him for his price list. He refused to give me one because he said his prices are his prices that he is under no obligation to reveal. I write this review to warn you about the "customer service" at this place and its dubious pricing. Use them at your own risk. read more

Our garage door opener quit working on a Sunday, and I was able to call and schedule an appointment for the next day. The technicians (Tony) communication with us on the day of the appointment was excellent. He showed up as scheduled , inspected everything, and gave us a list of options we had for replacement of the opener. The entire process was seamless and all the work done was excellent. If there was a six star button, I would have used it. Gary, the business owner, came out on a Sunday morning to fix my stuck (up) garage door and install a new lift system. My door is troubled, due to a foundation issue and challenging to work on. Old school professionalism and work ethic. I called Precision Garage Door (PGD) on Sunday, to repair a cable that came undone when the door was hit. The only damage was the release of the cable and I informed the person on the phone of the problem. I was told that there was a service charge of $59.95, I objected to that amount and the fallacy of an inspection which was unnecessary, I showed Matt, the PGD technician what was wrong and he agreed. I then asked what the cost would be, I was told $300.00 was the charge. I refused and told Matt to leave. I eventually went through street peddler negotiations with Matt and it went on to the many numbers until Matt realized I was not going to pay more than $150.00 plus taxes and he finally realized that however he needed to be paid in advance of the work. So at $300.00 quoted for the repair and the total time worked was 5 minutes or less. So at that price I would be paying $3,600.00 an hour. I fought to get the price to $150.00. At that price I would pay $1,800.00 an hour. Once Matt got the payment the repair was done in 5 minutes or less. I won't call them again and I advise against it. After Gary's message to me and what he has posted here, I see that he has not addressed my review or it's points. I stand by my review and would warn others to be wary of similarities. read more

I called and the guy was really nice, so that is the only reason for the 2 stars, I was quoted 350, 500 and 600 for the repair... .the 350 was with no warranty. The only way to get a warranty with them was to get 2 springs... i have had 1 for 15 years with no issues. They told me it was a safety issue to have only 1 spring, because if it failed at the top the door could come crashing down. I called another place and they charged me 170 for the complete repair and a 3 year warranty. read more

Then recently when my old garage door opener finally bit the dust I knew this was the company I wanted to call. We contracted with Precision Garage Door of Albuquerque to correct another garage door company's total botch. They came to our home, told us the problem, gave us a date to repair, ordered the necessary parts, arrived at our home at the time scheduled and completed the repair at the time scheduled. Precision is professional and the door is now operating correctly. They added also two strips to the concrete areas of the other two doors. We now have proper functioning garage doors. my garage door spring broke, and the technician quoted three prices $500 and something, $700 and something and finally, $1200 and something to upgrade everything. I felt that was high but I agreed and signed on the dotted line for the $700 repair. He started working and in literally, 15 minutes he was done. He did a great job and the door works fine, but if one looks at this, my goodness, a brain surgeon doesn't charge that much for his time. The spring doesn't cost that much. I have no complainst with the technician: he came on time, sprayed the tracks with WD40, secured the sensor and was in and out in 20 minutes. My complaint is with the company that charges $89.99 for a house call, which turns out to mean that someone shows up. The WD40 and the twists of the screwdriver are extra. This is tandemount to bait and switch - the charges are inflated once the repairman arrives. Precision Garage Door is certainly not the only business to engage in this practice, but I am sick and tired of it. Buyer - beware! read more

We were told they do not cover the defective parts they replaced in January, 2018 and now it is March, 2018. We paid almost $600 to be verbally attacked when they were called back for warranty work. I just had a garage door installed, while I like the door, I was not at all pleased with the installers (Mario & Pat). They did not move items in the garage back to where they were, did not clean up their mess & in the process somehow made deep scratches in the garage frame. Mario asked me how much I owed. Apparently he was too lazy to look it up. I immediately called the salesman Kevin to express my displeasure. He said he would come by today, but I never heard a word! No call, no text, nothing. They had my money so I guess it doesn't matter Horrible customer service! I would never use them for service in the future and would not ever recommend them. Came home at 2:30 PM to find the spring had broken on my garage door. Checked the reviews on Yelp and called these guys. By 5:00 PM the door was fixed (and he had to replace the entire mechanism!) and has never worked so well. Service man David was great - very thorough and careful to explain everything clearly. There's no way to get an assessment of what needs to be done and an estimate without paying this fee. Bizarre. Also, not one but two separate automated messages routing your call and telling you "calls may be recorded for quality assurance purposes" before a human picks up? Really? Price gouging at its finest. All I needed were the springs replaced on my door, The staff is friendly and prompt to arrive at the set time but when they show up the hustle begins. To start with the service call price, I was quoted started at 150 then was dropped to 85, I never even queried it when it happened then the service tech quoted 64.45 when I paid him. Next when the Tech arrived, he was in my garage for less then thirty seconds when he informed me that I needed a complete overhaul of the system and rebuild. For the tune of 850 plus tax, and a lifetime warranty. I informed him that all I wanted was the broken spring and the other replaced he insisted that I need to replace the whole system to fix the problem and would be able to do it for 650 plus tax but that would only give me a 1-year warranty. I said no all I want is springs replaced and I would shop around, this lead to the final push of he would do it for 490 plus tax, I said fine do it signed the work order went into my house, within 5 minutes he was knocking on my door to tell me that he couldn't do it unless I was willing to pay the 850 for the complete rebuild. At this point I had enough and asked him to leave. I believe what happen is he called in to the office and they told him to go back and press for the higher price. Then he asked for his service fee of 64.45 and of course he could take it as a credit card, after all the hustle the last thing I am willing to do is hand this person my card so I gave him 65 in cash which he smiled and pocketed without even offering my change, shows a lot of how they operate. Lastly I would like to address the method the tech was going to use to replace my rollers which I done myself, he informed me that he would be quick since he was going to just bend the track over and replace them that way, personally that is a really bad idea and a great way to mess up the tracks, easier to just unbolt and replace and re-attach. Be warned and shop around I willing to bet you will find a better price from someone else. The only person I would recommend them to is my ex wife. read more

I have these guys come to my house to give me an estimate to adjust the spring and reinstall the cables the guy told me he would have to take down the whole garage door and start all over and it was going to be $275, i'm so glad I found the other companies card I called them they came back today only cost me $95 to fix. I find that I need to amend my rating based on a review of my overall charges as well as a final detail: the next day I noticed a line of dark greasy hand prints all along the bottom of my light colored garage door...on the outside. Again, while I appreciate how quickly the technician was able to respond and how knowledgeable, patient and efficient he seemed to be, this final detail, along with the cost of the repair (spring had broken and I agreed to that repair along with new rollers ...almost $200 for rollers?), has led me to change my rating. read more

Bad experience with precision. Over the phone I tried getting a ballpark estimate of the cost and they told me a $60 service fee and that a technician would have to evaluate what was needed. I again asked for a ballpark estimate and she said it really just depended. They had a technician in the area so I went ahead and scheduled it figuring they would be competitive with other places, only to find that the technician they sent quoted me over 2 times the price of anywhere else I'd called. Needless to say I was not happy with this and will be going with another company. And sadly I was still charged a service fee for the 10-minute visit! I will say the technician was very nice though.
