Customer Beware…read more Here's another negative review, I had my heads repaired at Claros Heads months ago and they looked like they were good. BUT! they didn't hold a seal, down below I have the images of my heads at the engine shop who's building my engine. As you can see the images the dial is in the red showing a leak. The technician also shows a test with his finger showing it in the green as he was holding it down with his finger. I gave Claros a chance to run through the heads once again and make things right. They performed a test in front of me by pressing down on the compressor and letting air pass. The test is supposed to consist of pushing air into the head and releasing the air and watching the gauge remain in red to ensure the integrity of the seal. That wasn't the case. I already paid cash up front, and Luis who is the owner was already having an attitude and claiming not to believe shops when I have video proof. Please do your due diligence and look up videos on how to test heads prior to coming hear if you wish to give them business. I understand he's been in the business for 50 years but hey, I'm sure he has the luxury of having his technicians do the job as he supervises. The shop I went to showed me multiple heads that remained in the green with 0 leaks. The leak I was at was 80%. This was unexceptional.

It was my first time going to a machine shop to get a Volkswagen AWM 1.8T cylinder head decked…read more Luckily, Rik there helped me out. I didn't know you had to remove a lot of components and pretty much get to the bare head. Well, with his experience, he was able to close the valves and get a good clamp on it so he could get a clean cut on the head. He called me back in a couple of hours once it was done. From the decking process, lots of aluminum material gets into the nooks and crannies. I had to use an air compressor to remove most of the loose aluminum. I was able to install the cylinder head and now that car is running with no issues with leaking from the head gasket. Excellent work and a great price! I'd go back for more work to be done.
