Cool quotes cover the walls; my kind of place.
Christine P.

My husband turned me on to this place after I purchased a Groupon for him for sandwiches (he says shouldn't be missed) but we're here for breakfast. My pessimistic Manhattan-raised mom says they don't have real NY water (it makes a difference) but OMG! These New York-style bagels were perfect with scrumptious flavored cream cheese (my fave is the REAL strawberries; they don't use fake nastiness). With a hot chai tea, it was simple and yet SO satisfying. AND they offer a tofu version of cream cheese that passed my NY mom's test - WHAT?! The same woman who swore she would never eat tofu? The best part of coming early in the morning? The day old section!! Best deal in the city! This is definitely going on the lists of regular visit and bring visitors to places!

Queens

I've had the queens twice this year as breakfast and it honestly tastes better each time. The guacamole, turkey, bacon, and sauce is all really good and tasty. I've been to a lot of cafe shops and no sandwich comes close to queens (at least in my opinion. Would highly recommend this shop if your looking to any breakfast. They have a lot of sandwiches and bagel options as well as coffee options. Only downside is that they close somewhat early. 10/10 though!

Convenient place around campus for a quick coffee but the coffee isnt that great... at all. The brewed and iced coffee are decent but the espresso drinks taste like there is not coffee in them. I personally always gets shots of espresso over ice, which is normally strong but theirs tastes like normal coffee put over ice. Get an iced coffee! The best affordable thing on their menu if you don't want to spend $5 on a drink. They brew Cafe Motto! Yes, i come back because it's convenient but definitely not a first choice! Super pricey too in my opinion. Not the original store so maybe that's why too.

Daily Mexican mocha fix.

Great place. Coffee, espresso, pastries etc. Only downfall is that it's frequently not open when students are off.

I went with a godfather sandwich and the first thing I noticed is that the sandwich is absolutely stuffed. They are not shy about putting meat in here which I appreciate as sometimes sandwich spots give a less than desirable amount. I was also surprised at how good the Dutch crunch I chose tasted (it had a slight chew but was also fluffy at the same time). It definitely wasn't the cheapest sandwich (after tax it was around 19 bucks) but based on the ingredients and amount of meat I'd say it's fair value!

Mom had a pepper steak and I think that's the fastest I've seen her gobble up a sandwich. The meat was chewy and well seasoned. Cheese does not overpower making it a good combo with the peppers and onions. I had the Father Joe - meatball sub. I know an unusual choice but I've been dying for a good one for a while. This one didn't disappoint. Spicy sauce with perfectly sized meatballs made from beef, not pork. Have to also say something silly. Their soda fountain was great. C lately wherever I've gone sodas have felt off. Their mix was just right - I always have Dr Pepper. Hands down the fries were a huge hit. Mine were garlic and parsley. Over the last few visits in the last six months I've noticed the meat quality, overall, has gone down. The meat tends to have chewy, gristly bits throughout, often resulting in me spitting bites into napkins and losing my appetite, not to mention being very cautious not to draw attention from other patrons and turning them off. Yesterday was the worst experience. The entire sandwich was unappealing. It was not only chewy but the flavor was off. My wife and I dabbled at our garlic fries and made our way. Sadly, we have lost our desire to return.

San Diego Blenders is a MUST-VISIT!…read more I'm a local here in San Diego, and I've got to say, San Diego Blenders is hands down my favorite spot for a smoothie. What really makes this place special, though, is the people. The staff is super friendly, always smiling, and they make you feel like a regular even if it's your first time. They clearly care about their customers and take pride in what they do. The smoothies themselves are amazing. They use fresh, high-quality ingredients, and you can tell. I usually go for the mango pineapple and watermelon but I recently tried the pina colada , and it was equally delicious. You can tell that they're made with care. Plus, they're not afraid to customize your order to your liking. If you're looking for a refreshing and healthy treat with a side of genuine hospitality, look no further than San Diego Blenders. She looked mad and made me a new one, as I'm standing next to the blender, I see her putting spinach, celery and I asked for orange, not apple. She was about to give it to me and I asked her? Did you add lime, she rolled her eyes and a young man took over and added the lime. I didn't want to bother asking her about the other ingredients. I paid $14 for this drink with tip. Wow!!! What horrible service. This place has always had great customer service. I'm so sad to see that, not the case anymore. This young lady needs a refresher on how to give customer service, if she hates her job then she shouldn't be working.
