We got a beautiful spot on the patio and I loved how they had heaters to keep us warm. We started with some appetizers and they were absolutely amazing. I especially loved the octopus. The entire place felt elevated but cozy - our table was upstairs under beautiful wooden beams and big windows overlooking the town. The vibe was lively but not too loud on a Tuesday evening. Service started out wonderfully and we regularly received fresh table settings between courses, however we had a switch in waitstaff later in the meal and it was incredibly slow at the end. No big deal since we weren't in a rush but something to note that it could be hit or miss. The food, on the other hand, was 100% on point. We ordered the potato crusted oyster appetizer and I was blown away - innovative and delicious. For my main, I got the halibut in a curry sauce that was just perfection. My friends tried the sea board, seaweed salad, and scallop gratin, and loved all of it. This meal was a highlight of our vacation.

They have the "Please wait to be seated" sign, but they let me choose where I wanted to sit, and when I realized that the table I chose outside was putting me right in the hot sun, they were cool with me moving inside. I had "Lyndsay's plant pizza" (the cheeseless vegan pizza) and a tiramisu. The veggie pizza was loaded with toppings and the vegetables they chose worked harmoniously together, except the kale tasted a little raw. I didn't miss the cheese. I cannot overstate how good the crust was! There were a few spots with a bit too much char, but even with that, the texture of this crust was heavenly. The tiramisu was also fantastic. It was served as two jumbo ladyfingers doused in cream. Again, textures here were great - the ladyfingers were soft but not soggy, and the cream was velvety smooth. The bitter coffee in the ladyfingers perfectly complemented and balanced out the sweet cream topping. I was a little surprised by the high prices. I ended up spending about $50 for a meal for one after tip! Kind of a small place, but the laid back atmosphere felt homely. It would be nice if they had real glasses for water and a plate for the tiramisu instead of paper. Not quite a 5 star, but a very enthusiastic 4 stars from me. I could rave about that pizza crust.

Pros: - cute decor with huge windows to take in the ocean-mountain view - friendly staff - parking lot right next to the restaurant with a couple spots for patrons with 2hr max - super thin crust and pie came out piping hot - pizza toppings are very fresh with plenty of it Notes: - We were there for approx. an hour (approx. wait for the pizza was about 20-25 minutes) and the server came over with the bill. We still had half a beer to enjoy. The server was chatty and friendly, but I really would have rather not received the bill unprompted. Mind you, there were a few tables opens directly next to us. - The garlic dipping sauce was $4/unit and it was slightly congealed on the top. It comes in really small takeaway container. For the cost, it doesn't feel like the best quality and portion size, especially for a dine-in experience. - The Romano came with plenty of capers and olives, which made it on the saltier side and not as balanced with the flavor profile - the cost for the pizzas was also pretty expensive compared to what we were used to in Vancouver, about 30% more

Decent beer, friendly service and surprisingly nice views…read more This is an above average, but not amazingly good little brewpub in a cute town. The normal selection of beer is a pretty good flight of typical beers. The party wave hazy IPA from the normal line up stood out as both true to the style and very good. Not too sweet either. The featured limited release tap while we were there was the Brewmaster's Keep imperial stout aged on bourbon soaked oak (but apparently not actually in bourbon barrels). That was really fantastic, creamy and with just hints of bourbon sweetness. Our family of four was lucky enough to have the wrap-around table in the window looking out over the harbor and at the mountains, which was a great view. The food was about the same, but maybe a notch below the beer. I really enjoyed the beet, kale and feta salad, but the Reuben sliders my wife got weren't quite as good and the portions were on the small side. They had vanishingly little food for kids and even the "kids mac and cheese" wound up with onions in it and my son didn't eat it. They did make a bowl of plain rice for my daughter which she ate and they ate the chips that came with the Reuben sliders. The service was attentive and friendly the whole time and they had all the beers they had on tap also to go in cans.

I've had warm gas station lagers at 2am that treated me with more respect. If you like drinking pine needles soaked in battery acid with a hint of regret, this is your spot. One star.

Really really great experience at the Pluvio for my partner's bday dinner…read more We got to the restaurant 15 mins early and had to wait closer to our reservation time before we got seated. Not an issue with us, but it does show that they are a busy spot. The restaurant is decorated like you're eating at the coast in a rainforest. The menu is set by the chef and you have option for extra items. We ordered the humdog and mussels in addition to the chef tasting menu. The humdog was the most underwhelming tbh. It was overpowered by the fried shallots, while tasty, the squid was completely lost in this dish. I love grilled squid, so I was looking forward to it but cannot taste it at all. Everything else were absolutely wonderful. The best are the surprise items that we keep getting as the night go on. The Tuna Ham was exceptional, the lingcod with spot prawn sauce was great, there were so many great dishes. Server was very attentive and we even got to chat with the chef a bit about foraging :) Would absolutely love to be back when we are in the area. Highly recommend

We dropped in on a Tuesday afternoon (around 5:00pm) and they were fairly busy. There's only two tables inside but the patio can fit another two to three groups. One bartender running the show; super chill and cozy spot to grab a few drinks. There's about a dozen mini cocktail options (gin, vodka and absinthe based), all at a reasonable price of $4.34 per drink. Bottles included vodka/gin ($25.00 for 375ml, $43.00 for 750ml) and absinthe ($40.00 for 375ml, $75.00 for 750ml). Sad that they were sold out of their arancello (orange vanilla) and limoncello. - The bee's knees ($4.34) - light, floral and refreshing. - Tijuana go surfing ($4.34) - this one was our favourite (and seemed to be what everyone else was ordering). A tantalizing kick from the jalapeno and a touch of sweetness. Get it. - Demon dog ($4.34) - beware, the absinthe is heavy on the anise but still stays smooth and enjoyable. Worth a try but we aren't huge absinthe drinkers. Awesome spot to enjoy a few mini cocktails. Make sure you try the jalapeno vodka.
