The set up was elegant and minimal. I had my friend DJ, another friend play keyboard and another friend play guitar and sing and all equipment was very simple to integrate. Chris was super helpful, easy going and very responsive. Reasonably priced as well. Highly recommend for your next event!

Chris Campanella from JK Sound is just amazing. My then fiancé reached out to him in November, just…read moretwo months before our wedding, and Chris was so responsive and knowledgeable throughout the whole process. We ended up renting a loudspeaker system, two mics, a digital mixing console, and dance floor lighting. The cost was incredibly reasonable considering the final total included not just the rental, but the set-up and breakdown labor, an attendant on site, and transportation. About a month before the wedding, Chris made time to come out to meet us at our venue to do a walkthrough. What made this special? Our venue only allowed for viewing on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8 pm. Though based in San Francisco, he was there before 6:30 pm and proceeded to walk through the dining room to check outlets and power sources, get a sense of the acoustics of the room, etc. On the day of the wedding, Chris was the one in attendance and the sound and lighting was absolutely perfect. From our entrance and first dance songs, to the music playing during dinner, to the 2.5 hour dancefloor playlist - everything was super crisp (never too loud/too soft). My then fiance made a playlist and downloaded it to a laptop and it worked seamlessly with the sound and lighting equipment. During dancing, Chris wordlessly turned down the chandelier lighting so that the lighting from JK Sound could really shine. The strobe lighting to the beat drops was so memorable. A lot of my cousins had fun getting up on stage and pretending to be DJs lol. All in all, would highly recommend JK Sound for your sound and lighting needs!

I have done much larger scale events (800-1,000 people) with much bigger budgets, and other AV companies provided much less support than what Got Light provided for an event our scale.

This man saved our band, and is one of the most genuine, helpful, and impressive small business owners I've had the pleasure of dealing with. Every step of the rental transaction was well-planned, thoughtful and absolutely positive. We rented a mixer/interface and an additional 8 channel board, and he knew his gear and its capabilities inside and out, promptly confirming via email what exactly I'd be renting, plus useful links to download drivers and manuals. Pickup was a breeze, and he spent plenty of time explaining the workings of the machine so that even technologically challenged me felt confident in the gear. As things went wrong during my setup process, as was bound to occur, Tony made himself quite available for phone questions, pointing me in the right direction until all was running flawlessly. For future recording projects, I know exactly where to go. Thanks again, Tony!

Her team arrived early, was extremely friendly and professional and set up a state-of-the-art DJ station. However my experience from start to finish was NOT perfect. I'm only giving a 2 star because the items were beautiful but otherwise this is truly a 1 star service. The bad: - communication with my rep was extremely unreliable. I had to call their office to ask their office manager to slack her multiple times. - some of the chairs I rented were damaged before my event and, while I did in fact get them for my special day, it was not communicated to me that they were indeed fixed. - the delivery was supposed to arrive between 2pm and 3pm. It didn't arrive until 3:30pm. My event started at 4pm. - every time I would communicate with my rep, I asked her to send me a pdf so I could understand the charges. Instead it was always to link to pay but that page doesn't show me what I am renting of any changes. It was super unclear. - finally, the kicker. I told my rep to charge my card on file 72 hours (3.5 days beforehand), however it was until 4:30pm on Friday (the day before my event) that she let me know my card wasn't working. I had to frantically forward my fiancé the bill so he could pay because I was driving. I have email receipts of this. I tried calling my rep back but she didn't answer the call. I ended up pulling to the side of the road and having a panic attack. I do not recommend this service.
