I bought a used Triumph Motorcycle that came with only one key. The keys are made from a higher grade of metal than others which requires going to a locksmith. BB Locksmith has no problem cutting the three key blanks that I brought to them. They were prompt, courteous and reasonably priced. Once the blanks were cut the motorcycle dealer was able to pair them with the bike's computer. They have a wide selection of key blanks and a good selection of safes if you're in the market for one. read more

We contacted B and B locksmith from out of town to fix our front door code. They agreed and sent a technician to our unit. He was not able to repair the mechanism but charged us $240 for the visit. We had given our credit card over the phone so only recourse was to appeal to the owner to reduce the charge. She was not at all willing to do so and actually hung up on me. Arrived about 8:45 AM and under 10 minutes the job I need it done was complete and I was out the door. The glove box latch wast broken, The only replacement I could get since it was an older car was online at a junkyard. Therefore the key cylinder needed to be swapped. That meant they had to pick the lock on the new one since there wasn't any keys. Again I'll say I was in and out in under 10 minutes. I am a Realtor and checked the Internet for a locksmith, since I could not reach the one normally used. The address read on Marco Island. My seller had to rekey the key and asked them to do this. They knew the property is located on Marco and the bill for a rekey was $281.06 $15.00 for 1 key, 15.00 pick open lock 100.00 hourly rate 150.00 travel time 1.06 tax= $281.06 When I asked owner Jeane, why she did not tell my owner, that they were no longer local, her answer was, he should have asked. So she knew she was going to rip him off. Her telephone attitude was horrific also when I asked her to adjust the bill. So I will warn the public to beware of this company. read more

I went into the store to buy two door locks keyed the same way. They were a good lock, Schlage. When I paid I was told the receipt was sent to my email which was fine by me. I got home and looked at the receipt it was for $220.00. Remember this is for 2 door locks. I then started to review the price at other stores for the same locks. The highest price was $58.00. Now that was without the custom keying. Which was $16.00 per lock. That would put the cost at $148.00. My fault for not asking the price before hand, their fault for taking advantage of a customer. I called BB Locksmith and explained that I needed a new lock installed on my office door. The man I spoke to was incredibly rude and condescending. It was a shock being talked to this way. I moved into a new home and needed to switch out two locks; screen door, garage entry & a new front door set. They switched out the screen door and garage entry, but when I return with a "Kwik Set" entry door handle set, I was told it wouldn't work. ??? I returned the set only to find out that the tech wanted to rekey my new set and it was not his preferred choice!!! I had the Kwik Set installed and I feel safe that I made the right choice for MYSELF!!! They charge a service call fee ($99) and charge an hourly rate fee!!! One or the other is common practice, but not with B&B. Not worth the charges, total RIP-OFF!!! I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

I needed some specific keys that I was unable to have made at Sunshine Ace Hardware. The Sunshine Ace Hardware store did not have the blanks to properly make my key. They said the only place in Naples that I would be able to have it made was at B&B Locksmiths on N. Tamiami Trail. The first thing you notice when you walk in the store is some scary human-size thing sitting at the door. Then you are waited on by a clerk wearing no mask and no smile. {Purposefully withholding name in this review}. Was he mad at me for wearing a mask? I mean after all; it is the current law. With the American flags, a creepy animal at the door, no masks..... Was this a "political statement?" It was just weird. I spent $30 on three keys and not even a thank you for my business. That's just rude. For future purchases of this type I will look for a different, more personable locksmith. Even if it means a further drive away to find one. I used BB Locksmith to rekey three doors in my home and program three garage door openers. They charged $50.00 to reprogram the garage door and then they charged $125.00 for an hour and a quarter of programming. To me this is a double bill. The owner of BB Locksmith did not see it this way. After calling the owner, she did give me a half hour credit for labor. In addition, there was a $99.00 service charge for them to come. My total bill was $341.41. Thinking the guys were being nice by offering to program the garage door, I gave them each a $20.00 tip. That was before I got the bill. Shame on me! read more

Was greeted by an employee and I gave him a key I wanted copied. He said "This is made in china and I wouldn't know where to start" and was totally dismissive. After several attempts to get his help I wanted to say: 'Well you can begin by finding a key in the hundreds you stock on that wall and find one that looks like this key'. He basically pushed me out the door and told me to bring back the lock and he would see what he could do. Previously, I went to three other locksmiths and they worked hard to solve my problem like a professional should. BB's motto is "We follow the golden rule" This couldn't be further from the truth. . I wish you could rate a ZERO. I try to use local businesses as opposed to Home Depot. I went here and they didn't even have a blank to make a simple key. He told me to "go online and buy one". I did and went BACK to him. He said, "I can make you a key with your blank, but I'm charging you $13.99." I went a few blocks down the road and got a key made for 3.99. I'm being generous with the one star. My parents used to be customers here. Recently, my dad needed to make spare keys for their place. BB made keys so poorly for my dad that we will no longer be customers here. Their motto of service by "the golden rule" must be from "he who makes the gold makes the rule" and certainly not "do unto others". My dad has been unable to even get the key into the lock - it won't even fit in the lock. He tried to return the keys or even have them re-cut to have them work. They outright refused. They charged over $40 for 4 non-functioning keys and wouldn't do a thing to help repair the keys so they would work. So much for helping a local business. Next time, we will go to Ace. Better customer service and way better priced. read more

Another business poorly keyed my front door lock. I called B and B. They came out quickly, fixed the lock, and corrected another problem with the dead bolt I had not even noticed. All at a very reasonable price. They have a pretty cool store too where they make perfect every time key copies. They aren't cheap but they work great. And there is a cute dog who works there. TERRIBLE BUSINESS!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THEM! The first thing they do is try to sell you a safe, which have no prices on them. They make them up. I went in (against my will and only because it was convenient)to buy a simple lock for sliding doors. They tried to sell me a very large, super lock which I did not want. When the clerk came back with the locks, he asked the owner how much. Spurned because he couldn't sell me the more expensive one, he said "twenty five each". They sell for $15.00 at all other locksmiths!! He quoted that price because I didn't buy the more expensive one. Very bad business practices. Rude, too!! read more

Beware of this very pricy business! They charge a $99.00 service call fee just to come out and install a lock; they charge $100.00 per hour for labor, and exorbitant prices for the locks. I had locks put on two double door cabinets and was charged $426.20! When I called to question the amount, especially for the service call, since the only way they can install anything is to actually come to your place, I was told that is their policy. And, I was charged for 4 locks because the cabinets were double doored and apparently they could not just put one lock on his cabinet. Hence, $30. per lock for 4 locks! Forget these folks unless you like paying exorbitant prices and being taken advantage of! read more

This is one of the worst experiences I've ever encountered due to the manner in which I was treated by the owner. I went there to have a simple small locker key duplicated and was charged over $10 which I thought was high. He acted like he was doing me a favor after spending maybe 60 seconds quickly making the key and telling me it may not work. When the key would not even fit into the lock I compared it with the original and could easily see that it was much wider. So I returned to the store and was met by another employee who asked me who made the key. I said "he did" pointing to the owner, who immediately said he would not do anything else without the lock to fit it against. I said it couldn't be removed as it's on a club locker and could they try to rework the key. He said again he wouldn't do that without the original lock. I told them I was upset with the condescending manner in which I was treated which didn't even phase them as I left obviously upset. I would give this business a minus rating if it was available. If you need a key go to UPS where they charge about $3-4, stand by their work and treat you like a valued customer. Having owned my own business for over 40 years serving the public with customer focused policies I am appalled at their lack concern for customer satisfaction. read more
