Just while searching for beaches in a 30 minute driving radius, we ran into this gem of a park that's so well maintained. They have ample free parking and the walk to the bay is so quick. The bay might not be the best to walk on as sand is relatively less with more gravels and getting down to it from the stairs is little difficult even for well grown adults. This could definitely be wheelchair accessible in a certain way. They also have few picnic enclosures and a memorial to one of their town's fallen soldiers. The walking pavement is neatly laid out for a calm, peaceful and relaxing walk. We went on overcast conditions and had to return to the car just before the rain caught up. Will definitely return here for summers to watch the sunset in this beautiful bay/park.

It is near a highway so maybe that is why people avoid it, but they have tennis, basket ball and roller rink courts. There is a nice grove of trees and a nice gazebo and fountain too. I use the tennis courts almost every weekend and they are hardly used and in decent shape. Only complaint is it could use a broom to clean leaves to be left there. There are also lights on the court at night for free and ample parking and clean bathroom facilities. Once you are done with a game you can head to wawa across the street!

There is a small parking lot, but not too many people that you can't get a spot. There are different trails to walk up and there is a paved trail throughout. There is a wetlands trail and a dry lands trail. I took the wetlands. This takes you to the beach. You're like at the end of the world. I was expecting to see the head from the Statue of Liberty! only.49 miles so I came back and went on the paved trail which also has a few different trails, gentle rolling hills. Easy to do though. I saw birds, wild flowers interesting fields. Before I knew it I walked over 2 miles. There is an area with picnic tables covered by a roof. A few nice decks right by the water with a place to sit and watch the sea birds. Very very clean!. You do see others but no one is in your way. You can bring your dog. There is a pail for your poop bag and I would think it would be nice to walk your dog up there right before you go on the trail. There is a porta John up front in the parking lot. So all in all it was a great place! Will bring bug spray so I can hit a few of the more over grown trails. Taken care of but on the narrow side. Get out and walk or hike!

Then I would come every week just to be with myself ! It's just really pretty & so relaxing. This conference house park is located at the southwest part of NY state. It was built on back in 1680. Makes a great background with its historic landmarks & the view of the Raritan Bay. 265 acres of huge biking & hiking trails you will definitely find lots of places to take pictures in fall. I will definitely come back in spring & winter just to see how different it looks . Altho I was supposed do a shoot of my friend I did some shoot of myself too We had fun out there, we had to cut down the trip earlier because that day it was really cold. There is the 'Polish zone'. This is mainly a large parking lot surrounded by patches of parkland, where mainly Polish families come on weekends to pick nick. And then, there's the beach. As crowded as the parking lot may be, the beach is always quiet, and the view is beautiful: it really is a bay, with a settlement of houses planted haphazardly among the trees on the left side. Here, you find beautiful small pebbles, and the swimming is good. I always heard that the East Coast had a cold Gulf Stream while Europe has a warm one, but I can assure you that the water is surprisingly warm much warmer than the North Sea and this from June until well into autumn. There is a bathroom and a building where you can get a map and ask questions. The young lady working there was very accommodating. The trails were pretty well kept. You're walking through the woods basically except for a time or two to cross the road. Ya I would've got lost map and all. We passed an area where they had different types of peacocks, it was like a little peacock zoo. Of course there's beautiful areas with a pond. We saw more then one. The trails we took were a total of 3.38 miles, we did that in 11/2 hours and they went back through the trails again. It's really a beautiful walk/hike that I'd love to go through on a slower pace and photograph more. Not scary if you're going alone. I believe dogs are allowed on leash.
