Despite multiple attempts to resolve these issues directly, I have received no response…read more Prior to admission, we engaged with the intake department for over a month, during which we received inconsistent and, in some instances, inaccurate information regarding program policies and permitted items. This lack of transparency raises serious concerns about the facility's intake procedures and ethical practices. My daughter's experience at Britelife Recovery was deeply troubling. She was initially placed in a "detox" home and subsequently transferred to a "rehab" home within a day and a half. During her stay, she reported the following incidents: * Service Dog Interference: Staff and residents compelled her to allow others to handle her service dog hourly, despite her objections. This occurred against established policies, as confirmed by a staff member. * Breach of Confidentiality and Unprofessional Conduct: A staff member publicly discussed my daughter's private interactions with another resident during a group session, exacerbating conflict and causing her significant distress. * Confiscation of Personal Items: A permitted non-Wi-Fi music player was confiscated. * Medication Mishandling: Vitamins purchased for her service dog were not delivered, despite timely arrival. * Neglect of Basic Needs: My daughter reported not receiving two meals. * Safety Concerns and Abusive Environment: On March 19, 2025, at approximately 9:00 PM, my daughter contacted me in a state of extreme distress. She reported that another resident verbally abused her, threatened physical violence, and falsely accused her of animal abuse. Staff members dismissed her concerns and denied her access to a phone for over an hour, even after the director was contacted. She was then surrounded by residents that were verbally abusive, and she feared for her safety. Staff threatened her with trespassing charges when she waited outside for her Uber. * Lack of transparency: I have requested to view any video footage of the incidents that occurred and also requested the credentials of the workers that were providing services to my daughter, and have not received any response. Financial discrepancies and administrative failures have also occurred: * I paid $900.00 in advance and have not received documentation detailing the charges. This payment was intended for a 30-day stay, not a seven-day stay with missed meals. * I incurred $120.00 in additional medication costs due to the facility's use of a small, expensive pharmacy. Which we never received these medications. * I had to personally tell them that doctor's notes needed to be submitted to the insurance company for coverage approval, a task that should have been handled by Britelife Recovery. * $25.00 worth of service dog vitamins. * Several personal items were not returned to my daughter upon her departure. I have made repeated attempts to contact the Director via phone and the CEO via email, all without a response. This lack of communication is unacceptable.

They do not properly give the care needed for an individual with dual diagnosis. When an individual…read moregoes in with crack addiction and bi polar there are going to be manic states brought on when detoxing and not getting the proper medication. they do not know how to deal with detoxing an individual. They gave medication that brought on a manic episode instead of giving the proper medication and then discarded the individual because of verbal comments but yet allowed another patient flick his finger on the ear of the individual that was in a manic state. I recommend that no one ever go to this place they do not help people that need the help.
