As a wedding guest, I'm going in with the assumption that all food was provided by The Oceanview…read more Our friends wanted to get married at The Oceanview, and they were so booked that the wedding ended up being a weekday event, beginning before sunset, when the sun was just drifting behind the trees. Talk about great timing for avoiding the possibility of any sunburns. This was just my second beach side wedding experience, so it is a very real risk. The wind was a silent participant, blowing the bride's veil as it wished, and then declining to blow when it would have been helpful. Nothing Oceanview could do about this. More of a warning to future brides with an eye to an outdoor wedding. The outdoor wedding ceremony space is covered in fake grass and faces the rocky beach. So it is safe for heels. But anyone planning a walk on the beach should be aware. Parking is along the beach side of the road as their across the street neighbor is a golf course that needs its own parking spots as well. Stairs lead to the lobby of The Oceanview, where a two stall ladies room resides. However, the indoor party space is all up on the second level, up a flight of stairs, where the cocktail hour was set up in a room to the left, down a couple of steps. The open bar at the end had printed drink menus which included mocktail options. The room also opened to an outdoor patio where smokers were welcomed with ashtrays. There was a boat of jumbo shrimp cocktail and shucked shellfish, and passed appetizers, of which the short rib quesadilla was my favorite. Later, doors opened to the space to the right, to expose a grand dining room. Everything looked nice. Indeed it is a pleasant setting for a wedding! Water and champagne toasts were already poured out, with one empty wine glass apiece for us to pour our choice of white or red. The champagne was a nice one. An assorted bread basket arrived warm with seasoned swirls of butter, followed shortly by the salad course. Which in our case was a tasty spinach salad with fresh sliced pear, goat cheese, dried cranberries and walnuts. My entree was short rib, served as two hearty slices of tender beef on a bed of pilaf, and 4 spears of asparagus. I later discovered an assortment of desserts displayed in the cocktail room along with self serve coffee and tea. Whole sliced cakes, along with mini cakes, cream puffs, cannoli, and cookies. The cake was tender, and perhaps was the same cake base as the wedding cake which was lastly served. Our drink glasses were cleared from the tables all too soon. It left me without water to drink when enjoying my slice of wedding cake that I retrieved from the corner under a screen with the wedded pair's names, and still dancing guests without a way to sooth their parched throats.

Plenty of picture options with the beach as a backdrop. A little tough to get to, parking was easy and well organized. A great option for a wedding location if you're looking.

I've been an organizer for years and she truly is at the top of her game. I wish there were more than 5 stars to give. Thank you to the entire team for a extraordinary night to remember!

They were unnecessarily rude, unpleasant, and incredibly difficult to deal with. The way we were treated was completely unprofessional and made an already demanding event far more stressful than it needed to be. Save yourself the aggravation--and your money--and look elsewhere. Yasmen's message (In case it's deleted Later) & my response below: Business owner information Yasmene D. Business Owner Aug 28, 2026 Hi JL: Funny I don't have any clients with those initials. I'm sorry that you may have confused us with another business or perhaps have nothing better to do then try to destroy reputations for small businesses that have stood the test of time since 1987, all from behind a screen. Wishing you the day you deserve. Kindly, Yasmene My Response: Yasmene, Your response is both surprising and disappointing. Rather than asking for additional information or attempting to identify the customer and circumstances involved, you immediately concluded that I must either have confused your business with another one or have "nothing better to do" than try to damage your reputation. I can assure you that I know exactly which business I reviewed, and my review was based on my personal experience. The fact that you do not recognize my initials does not mean that I was never a customer. Your response, particularly "wishing you the day you deserve," speaks for itself and unfortunately reinforces the concerns that prompted my review in the first place. For the record, I have no interest whatsoever in "destroying" your business. But if anything ultimately damages the reputation of a business that has been around since 1987, it will not be one customer sharing an honest experience--it will be the way the owner chooses to treat customers, respond to criticism, and conduct herself publicly. A more professional response would have been to ask me to contact you privately so that you could verify the details and address my concerns. Instead, you chose to attack my credibility publicly. I stand by my review, and your response has only given prospective customers additional information with which to form their own opinion.
