Most days they sat on barrels and gossiped with each other while the riders rode aimlessly around the arena bumping into each other. They never taught basic arena manners so the kids cut off half the arena and the "instructors" didn't bat an eye. The owner's daughter, who is one of the high school instructors, regularly talks down to the kids taking the lessons, until they are in tears. I have also witnessed, on more than one occasion, her hitting a horse in the face with a lead rope in an attempt to "train" it. These girls are not ready for the responsibility of teaching children or anyone. They still have a lot to learn themselves.

Vannessa M is entirely correct, my daughter took lessons there for a couple of weeks, she was put…read moreon a horse that was way too tired to ride, it had been ridden for camp and lessons prior to our (the last) lesson of the day. even one of the young (teenage) girls who was an instructor said that the horse was "so tired it just wanted a nap". they put her on the horse anyway, she could not get it to go... the instructors (young unsupervised girls) kept swatting and prodding the horse, it would move then stop. finally the horse got sick of it and threw her. Although she tried and tried she was too scared to ride again. Unsupervised young (teenage or younger) girls are not responsible enough on their own to do this job safely and properly!

St Michaels won in the regular season and this game was for advancement to the state 4A finals. Popular opinion was this game would determine the state 4A championship. Alot at stake. Jackson High School lead the entire game with EJ Crowell an Alabama commit and Landon Duckworth a South Carolina commit. St Michael was featuring Gunner Rivers at QB (Who will have several offers) and his Dad Phillip Rivers as head coach. Jackson won the game to advance to Bham forr the 4A finals. Also, a Chance for back to back 4A State championship.

My children are now academically challenged and they couldn't be happier. They love the curriculum and everything that DES has to offer. Mr. Bellmyer and Mrs. Scharwath are great teachers and I'm glad we are lucky enough to have them as role models for our munchkins. Class sizes are small, the new leader program is amazing, and when they say they truly understand that "one size does not fit all", they mean it! They even accommodated the school lunch menu to include vegetarian options for our child. My son loves using his iPad and my daughter has become very efficient at using her Chromebook. The only disappointment was that they do not offer Rosetta-Stone or dual language learning. Maybe this can be achieved in the near future. Principal Ellis is doing an amazing job and DES truly looks out for their students! It doesn't go unnoticed, keep up the great work!!
