It was a beautiful afternoon and we got there right after they opened for the evening. We were able to snag a table at the rail with a great view of the lake. We had a couple rounds of drinks which were an ok price and selection. We decided to stay for dinner which you order at the bar and they deliver to the table. The pretzels were tasty but overpriced for what you got. The blackened whitefish tacos were good and pretty spicy. The regular tacos were also decent for the price. The view is worth it when the weather is great.

Self-service model--but works well! Upper deck with beautiful views of the bay. Food was good--very fast food delivery. Would go back!

The restaurant is on the deck upstairs above the inn. Manage expectations when coming here: this is not a fancy place. More like fast-casual. You are seated and then you write your selections on the menu with a pencil and take it to the bar. Then your food comes up from the kitchen. The wife had beautiful avocado toast with arugula and a sprinkling of balsamic on top. I had fish and chips. These both came with fries, but her fries were different than mine. The panko breading on my fish was so crunchy and good. This was the best fish I ate in a couple weeks' vacay near Lake Superior. Everything was great and the place was very chill! Did I mention the view? So pretty with the bay out in front and the boats at the marina. The food came out quickly and the bar was efficient and the hostess was quick to clean vacant tables. As long as you don't expect a high engagement style of service, you'll really love this place!

The Bayfield inn is a classic for anyone visiting Bayfield - lake views, big patio, decent food. I have enjoyed my experiences here for the most part but would say if you are looking for fine dining then maybe look elsewhere. I had the blackened fish cobb salad and then an eggs Benedict. The Benedict was definitely better than the salad as I felt the produce wasn't super fresh in the salad. Bloody Mary was great! Drinks are strong and reasonably priced and it's a fun place for a happy hour in the sunshine overlooking the water! I'm also pretty sure that one of my friends got sick from their chicken Caesar salad so docking stars for that.

Menu (May 2022). Offers a vegan wrap and a Beyond Burger.

Bayfield Inn, located right on the main dock to Lake Superior, is a hotel restaurant that has a couple labeled vegan options. We got lunch here after a 3-hour boat tour of the lovely Apostle Islands and the gorgeous sea caves. The Deluxe burger ($15 + $3 for a Beyond patty) is vegan if you omit the cheese. It's a perfectly respectable Beyond burger, though get it with the pretzel bun, not the brioche bun. The beer-battered fries were also good. The best part is that the Bayfield Inn is less crowded than the Pier Plaza restaurant across the street (which also has a Beyond burger).

The Inn has done major upgrades since our last visit. The view of the lake from the rooms is worth every penny. The Inn is within walking distance of Lake Superior, ferry, tour boats, restaurants and shops. The rooms are beautiful, lots of space. The Deck Four stars not because of the hotel, but what they have done to the dinning. The Deck used to have appetizers only, they expanded to full menu. The Deck has a more casual menu than the Main Dining Room. By casual, it's truly casual. Order at the bar, including your drinks -Food was absolutely nothing to write about and the service is not great (at the deck)

FELLOW MORTALS, HEED MY WORDS! The Apple Fest Burger may just be one of the best burgers I've ever had in my entire life. I've had quite a few burgers across Wisconsin and this burger sits amongst the best. Sweet, savory, and exquisitely delicious. The fries were a perfect pair with the burger as well. My only complaint is the flies everywhere... but that is to be expected... we're outside. All in all, please get this burger and experience true love for the first time.

    so happy to be here

Let me start off by saying the staff here are excellent!!! We were greeted by this lovely hostess and she guided us through our whole journey at the Bayfield Inn Upper Deck, bayfield WISCONSIN 54814 USA. and to top it all off, our food was to DIE for, we got the cheese curds to start us off and ate the applefest burger as our main course. The fries were perfectly seasoned, the apple butter complemented the sweet and savory burger PERFECTLY. The cheese curds were GINORMOUS and so delicious. I would 1000x recommend this lovely place. peace out

We stopped in for dinner after a bike ride and liked it so much, we came back today for lunch. The patio/ upper deck is awesome and overlooks Lake Superior. Service is good. Drinks are strong and the food is good. I had the applewood burger for dinner and the BF had the cerviche. My burger was outstanding and so were the fries. His was good too. Today's tacos were ok and the Nashville chicken seemed processed. Stick to simple and you'll be good!

Horrible customer service! The front desk staff is the worst ever - they have no loyalty to customers who have rented for many years.

We love Bayfield and Honeymooned there so, wanted to go back. It was a nightmare 24 hours to say the least. Safety is the biggest problem! There was no locks on the doors besides your own room in the house. Our room was next to a shared kitchen and the first night we stayed two strangers got into the house and were drunk etc. loudly knocking pictures off the walls, fighting loudly with each other, moving furniture, swearing, singing, and tried to get into our room. We have never stayed in a shared space before so thought this was just an odd experience having nothing to compare it to. Finally hearing someone snoring behind our door at 3am we got up and opened the door to a woman and man sleeping. Like literally opened the door on them and had to step over them! We were both very scared and ran over to the help desk for the Bayfield in across the street. I told the front desk that they needed to get these strangers out of our place, we do not feel safe, and the cops should be called if they don't leave immediately. We went back up the stairs to our room and they were STILL sleeping and completely out of it. My husband and i had to yell at them to move so we could get in our room to pack our things. Nobody from the front desk every came over to help. We then asked for a complete refund, packed our stuff and drove 5 hours home after just getting there less than 24 hours before. Absolute nightmare vacation. After speaking with the Manager - Alicia - for The Bayfield Inn, she told me she was talking with upper management and locks will be put on the house. Mind you ALL doors to the place were left open ALL night from complete strangers coming in from off the street! Children and families were also staying in suites there. I told her all I care about is them getting locks so nobody else has to go through what we did. I never received a call as promised from her letting me know locks had been installed. It was such a traumatic experience that visiting Bayfield has been tainted for us. Just watch out for this place. Safety should be the biggest priority for a business. I have never even had this horrible of an experience from a 2 star hotel. Good luck all!

Less than a block from the "Main Street", and 2 blocks to the Madeline Island ferry line. We awoke to beautiful sunrises in our backyard of Lake Superior. Maybe 20 feet from the water, with nothing in our way but the lovely patio table provided by the condo. We were traveling with my parents, so we opted for the 2 bedroom, 2 bath. The condo was spacious enough where we weren't crowded on top of each other, and had plenty of space. Toiletries are provided, even though the pamphlet said they were not, as was a hairdryer. Kitchen was huge, living room nice, although the tv was on the one and only switched outlet for the living room (issue for parents, not us - we weren't watching it). We thought the beds were hard. We compared it to sleeping on a box spring. Not great, but doable. And the microwave was from 1983, older than the cousin we came to see get married. But it worked! We checked in on Friday early afternoon, and their wireless worked. An hour later it stopped working, and we had a really hard time with the AT&T E network (sloooooooooooooow). Every time I called to the office, all we got was their answering machine. Sure, I could have left a message, but I didn't. My fault I guess, as I figured I'd eventually reach someone. I was wrong, so we never had wifi. Note: This property is managed by The Winfield Inn. All the other relatives who were staying in hotels were jealous of our place. Yeah, it's really nice. I'd stay here again without hesitation.
