PCA works very hard to maximally charge insurance and patients…read more I have gone to PCA for several years. As a physician (a specialist who cares for very complicated patients), I know what constitutes reasonable billing codes and when to apply them. In early 2024, at my annual physical, I was billed a 99213--moderately complex office visit (=$89 after insurance); the billing department told me this additional billing was due to the doctor clicking on two refills for long standing, non life-threatening health concerns that were minimally mentioned at the physical. After that visit's billing, I discontinued those two medications. This year at my annual well health physical, I was again billed a 99213 (=$95 after insurance) despite not being prescribed any medication for any condition by this physician. This time, the initial billing employee told me the charge was due to my doctor's "co-management" of a chronic condition (for which I had seen my specialist two days prior and for which my primary was never involved in the care or coordination as I self referred). Then I was told that the additional billing charge was due to my occasional use of an over the counter heartburn medication and to discuss my cholesterol for which I do not receive any treatment. The Affordable Care Act of 2010 includes preventative health maintenance covered 100% by insurance. The providers at PCA and their billing department work very hard to find miniscule issues to levy additional charges for the patient +or insurance which is part of the vicious cycle (the medical-industrial complex) and contributes to ever escalating insurance premiums and patient financial harm.

I love the few Aurora doctors I have, but I will NEVER again go to their ER. I was wheeled in…read morescreaming in pain, was made to sit through intake as I'm screaming, and I was wheeled out screaming an hour later after being treated like a drug seeker. Two days later, I was taken by ambulance (still screaming) to Ascension Mercy and was admitted immediately for intractable pain. Apparently, Aurora needs an acute diagnosis in order to provide care and, if they can't get one from an x-ray, off you go. I never saw a doctor, only a PA who was cold as ice. I asked for a neurosurgeon and she said they didn't have one. The ORAL medication given to me while there was laughable. I was discharged because there was "nothing else they could do." Now I'm sure they have their protocol and probably followed it to the letter. But therein lies the problem. I felt, and told them, that this was cruelty to allow someone to suffer so horribly and do nothing. Are the policy makers completely devoid of empathy? Or does the DEA have its foot on the neck of healthcare? I don't care which, the result is the same. We lose. Ultimately, it is Aurora's loss. Ascension had me inpatient for a week, they gave me what was needed to help control my pain, Ascension at Home was there for me when I was discharged, and I am in my third month of PT. Their care was just that...care. Wonderful doctors and nurses. I had intended to change my PCP as I moved a distance from where her office was located. I was looking at Aurora because I had my cancer care there and they were wonderful. I also have an endocrinologist there who I would follow to the end of the earth. But I've chosen an Ascension doctor because I would NEVER again go through Aurora if I needed an ER. To add insult to injury, they've been billing me since January $1000 for that visit. I may reimburse them for the two tablets they provided me, de minimus as that is. I gratefully paid for the cancer care, and all the specialist's copays, but I will not pay to be treated like a fake and a junkie, much less left to suffer. Worst experience ever.

Sheboygan location: It your employer use sites/apps like Paychex flex, avoid using this business…read more  I was told that they will not accept anything other than actual "real" paycheck stubs.  Even if you have "real" paycheck stubs, I would still avoid this place.  The female dentist was very rude to me.  It seems like they push tooth extraction rather than restoration. I was scheduled for an extraction, because one of the male dentists couldn't do restoration on the tooth next to until it was removed.  Two days after this appointment was scheduled, I saw a different dentist.  That dentist claimed he could fill both teeth.  There was no need for extraction.  I called up to there to attempt to speak with speak with one of the dentist.  The female that answered the phone, claimed that the dentist I was scheduled with would not talk to me.  She stayed true to their lie that the tooth needed to be extracted.  I canceled my appointment with them.  Months later, I got an e-mail from a collection agency.  I never received a bill.  I was blown away by the amount they wanted! I became aware of their business on site related to free to low cost dental care.  The amount they wanted was three times what I paid for the second opinion. A few weeks after I talked to collection agency, I got a "final attempt" to collect notice from there business. It didn't even have the "correct" address on it.  This business has no attention to detail! I'm glad I got a second opinion before going forth with the treatment that was planned for me.  I noticed they still didn't post a picture of the woman dentist on their site.  It still states coming soon.  What is there ideal of coming soon?

I've been receiving bills for amounts anywhere from $60-$185 because the Medicaid (that I don't have) has been denied. My account with LCH has a $40 copay + $15 for labs concrete payment. No variations. Someone in billing sent a lab claim to my imaginary Medicaid, and ever since my credit has taken a hit and NO ONE has stopped the billing, despite me having called the department every single time I receive one of these bills. They tell me they'll reverse the claim, but the next month I get another bill for a larger amount! Absolutely awful, I'm ready for this to be over.
