I was experiencing teeth sensitivity and gum recession throughout my pregnancy and now into postpartum. I thought it was just hormonal changes so waited, but 14 weeks later still experienced sensitivity and recession. Bay Smile Dental got me in to be evaluated quickly and they were super thorough and gentle. Every time I go to the dentist apparently I need some kind of new filling or fix for a filling, or deep cleaning, you know the "drill", haha. Not here though, thorough x rays and no cavities. Pleasantly surprised. I also had my baby with me because my husband wouldn't get off work in time, he got held over by a little bit, Bay Smile offered to "watch" him while getting stuff done and came up with a safe plan to keep him away from the x rays. Thankfully my husband showed up in time to bring baby home. I really appreciate Dr. Harika and her colleague. Even though I think my dental issues are mostly due to genetics, I'm so grateful for how flexible and supportive they've been. They pointed out that my shifting bite is probably contributing to my dental problems, and I don't think people realize how thoughtful the staff here is. I just found this dental office about 2 weeks ago. They are very friendly you understand what's going on. They will work with you even if your insurance maxes out. To start off the dentist herself is so sweet and I really liked her. Unfortunately I will never go back because of the oral surgeon and the head front desk lady. One, she's extremely rude and has zero customer service & makes very prejudice assumptions. She assumed I could not pay the $350 for a bone graft I did not need. She assumed I could not AFFORD it. I went in to have my lower left wisdom tooth extracted and I had been told for a couple years by 2 other dental offices I needed it done and was not able to do it because of my pregnancies. This oral surgeon, I forget his name was already 30 minutes late for my appointment which I was okay with, but he decided that I needed an additional tooth pulled. And when I refused and said it was fine, he said it wasn't fine. So I asked what's wrong with it and he could not give me ANY medically necessary reason for me to have it pulled other than "might as well". So when I refused and he walked out to the front desk lady, she comes in and says "We have to do a bone graft because he ALWAYS does it". Well if he does it because an patient absolutely needs it is one thing but to force someone because you just want the extra money is not okay with me. And to force this on me because I REFUSED to have my perfectly healthy tooth removed is not okay. When I walked out to the waiting room to wait for my ride, they assumed I was fine and could hear them talking about me still in the back. These people are frauds, scammers just trying to force people into doing whatever they say so they can get an extra payment. I have heard 2 other people with very very similar experiences here being forced to pay for stuff they shouldn't have or they did not NEED. A bone graft isn't a mandatory thing. Like I said I've been to 2 other offices and they never mentioned anything about doing this. I am extremely upset and disappointed in the lack of medical professionalism. read more

I've always been a bit hesistant to go to the dentist, having had bad experiences. Found my dentist on Zocdoc, and easily made an appointment at Bay Smile Dental - and it's been a wonderful experience, helpful and friendly staff. They always schedule an appointment, and have a confirmation system via text, which doubles as a reminder for you so you never miss an appointment. I started fixing my teeth here, and they have provided informative suggestions/plans. My dentist has a very pleasant manner, is kind and while working on my teeth, always kept checking in if I am ok - making it a positive experience. I came here before the pandemic, but also during - and they always had a clean, organized office, but since installed many HEPA filters and have the air going, and everyone wears masks so you really feel safe! Definitely a wonderful experience here at Bay Smile Dental. Upon entering, I already felt so welcomed; Evelyn greeted me with a smile on her face and even made small talk with me. The place is very modern, with a tablet used to fill out paperwork near the receptionist's table. When I was called, the dental assistant, Hilda, came in and she also made me feel very welcomed; we made small talk as well and also laughed like as if we are really good friends! After she took my xrays, she asked if i wanted to watch something on the tv to make me comfortable while she was polishing my teeth. I find it pretty awesome how the tv is right over your head so that while they are doing work on your teeth, you can watch a show with no problem! After about 10 minutes, the dentist came in. Dr. Harika was very friendly and extremely informative when it came to what was going on when it came to my teeth. After everything was said and done, she and Hilda proceeded with doing a cleaning on a my teeth. It didn't feel harsh as compared to other dentists where I got my cleaning done. Will definitely be coming back to them for my next appointment! This is definitely one of those dentists that you want to stay as a patient for a very long time! :) read more

Unfortunately had a terrible first appointment. Dental assistant was obviously untrained; she kept pronouncing my name wrong even after multiple times of correcting her, she took more than 10 x-ray images of my teeth, she didn't know how to operate the chair (she rocked me back and forth several times), terrible placement of objects in my mouth as well as her hands (at one point her finger was up my nostril)..overall just very incompetent. Also met the other dentist briefly and she seemed very unprofessional as she was chewing gum while talking to me and observing my teeth. She didn't even show me the images of my teeth or go over what work would be done! Dental hygienist and receptionist were the only ones that showed good professionalism. Too bad I didn't have the chance to meet Dr. Harika; my experience may have been different. I actually scheduled to be back to have work done, but after thinking it over, I won't take my chances and will look for another clinic. read more

I lost a tooth while skiing, had healthy teeth on either side of it. Asked for a consultation and got the wrong diagnosis to maximize her profit. She asked me to get root canals done on both of the healthy teeth and then get a bridge. Wrong diagnosis : 2 root canals + 1 bridge Thank god I got another opinion, the healthy teeth had to be grinded for a bridge. No root canals needed. Right diagnosis: 0 root canals + 1 bridge All about money, avoid at all costs. I haven't been to a dentist in over 6 years. I've been reluctant to go since I don't have insurance. I was worried prices would be outrageous. This is not true at Bay Smile Dental. They offered a coupon for first time non-insured patients to get a cleaning. That got me in the door; and I am so glad it did. The facility is state of the art, with great new equipment, flat screen monitors to watch movies or educational films while you get worked on. The staff was very helpful, caring, and attentive. I have at least 5 cavities and gum disease and will need more follow up. At first this worried me, since I don't have insurance, but Dr. Harika totally worked with me. And I left there feeling completely informed regarding the state of my teeth/gums, relieved to have a short term and long term plan for treatment, and 100% satisfied with the deep discount I was given. Dr Harika and her staff run a very professional and competent clinic with latest technology. I had some gone for a cleaning appt and Dr Harika made a keen observation about me grinding my teeth at night , which I was not even aware of . She also noticed that my wisdom tooth were causing issues ( she recommended removing only one for now ) and her treatment made huge improvement in relieving the stress on my jaw ( which also improved my sleep ) Dr Harika also suggested we see another specialist for our son ( possible surgery ) as she felt a second opinion was prudent. She even discussed his case with the specialist and ultimately recommended no further treatment. Not many doctors are so passionate about looking deeper than what's obvious and truly caring about your patients. I just moved from East Coast and wanted to have my regular dental cleaning. I found this dental clinic is within walking distance from my Airbnb and has good reviews so decided to give it a try. However just taking the x-ray took a long time. A dentist came in, took a look of my teeth, glanced my x-ray from a distance swiftly and asked if I've heard of root cleaning and wanted to do it right away. My teeth have always been very healthy growing up. When dentists can't find any issue every one of them suggested me to do deep cleaning, and this one is no exception. I have done it less than two years ago with my previous dentist who showed me my x-ray, explained to me why it's needed, and checked my out-of-pocket cost before I agreed to do it. In my last check he said my teeth remained perfectly healthy, so even if there's some buildup I do not believe another deep cleaning is warranted imminently. I declined the offer, reiterating I was there for only regular cleaning and lay down. Then the doctor said "OK let's begin your debridement." Wait a minute! I know what debridement is because once I was given this without being informed until I got a bill! I got up immediately, again saying I only want a regular cleaning. So the regular cleaning finally began. It didn't take long and I felt it's not done as thorough as my previous practice did. When it's completed the doctor asked me to stay and another doctor will come to talk to me about root cleaning. I really didn't feel comfortable after her previous approach so I just took off, and certainly won't return for my next check-up. read more

Got my x-ray taken, and then they put Netflix on for me as I waited, which I've never had before. There is also a strategically placed painting on the wall, so I had something interesting to look at while getting my teeth inspected. It helped me take my mind off all the times I didn't floss, and other poor life choices. read more

I highly DO NOT recommend Dr. Harika. Clearly, she did not become a dentist to make people feel good about their smile it's all about how much she can bill your insurance. I used to be a cash patient, and I would get a bonding procedure done by her at a flat rate with no X-rays. As soon as i got insurance, and i went back to her to have the same procedure done, she would not even come into the room to say hi to me unless I agreed to let her bill my insurance for X-rays that were not needed. I was forced to do a panoramic X-ray, which was not needed, or else she wouldn't do my bonding. That hurt my feelings a lot. I do like her work so over a year later i scheduled with her again. I had been looking so forward to my visit!! Unfortunately i was forced to cancel because she refused to see me without letting her bill for more un needed things. She's just not a compassionate person which i feel is very important in a dentist especially when dealing with people who have insecurities with their teeth. She is amazing highly talented doctor who is very professional, transparent and calm. She explained me all the issues and created a plan for me how to save my tooth and fix things over a time line. I broke my tooth in an accident and had it extracted by Dr. Harika. Even though it was on a weekend, she answered my emergency call and offered to treat me the same day even though the clinic was closed for the weekend. Given how much dental procedures can cost I was worried about the expenses, so she gave me a complimentary examination including several x-rays to determine what needed to be done and to give me a quote. She discussed my situation very professionally & I did not feel stressed or pressured to go through with her recommendations, even though she had examined me for free. I have had a previous painful dental extraction done so I was clearly nervous, but I was certainly impressed that the extraction happened almost without me noticing - quickly and without pain. Dr. Harika is certainly a highly skilled and very compassionate person - she even called me later on to hear how I was doing! I have never been treated with so much care and professionally by a dentist. Also, the insurance paper was handled properly and I did not have to pay more as the work done during service and after reflected correctly in the insurance category.
