However the service just needs a little wotk. They're youngsters serving and I had to ask twice on 2 occasions for my beer. But overall , I'd bring my out of town guests here.

The check-in process was easy. We did arrive a little early that our room was not yet ready. But they did offer us some welcome drinks to quench our thirst after the long drive. The restaurant was just a few steps from the front desk that we opted to just stay there and have a meal while waiting. The restaurant has a good view of the pool and the beach, which was very inviting. You can feel a breeze through the open glass doors. We booked studio type room that was overlooking the pool. The room was modern, spacious and clean. The same with the bathroom. We didn't get to swim in the pool as we opted for the beach. The beach has a very long coastline making it perfect to learn how to surf. Should you decide to learn how to surf, there is a company within the resort that you can use or you can just go down to the beach and contract with any of the local surfers. It can be relatively cheap if you know how to bargain. But I guess, they have a standard fee to make it fair for everybody. After some surfing, one can either go back into the resort and enjoy some appetizers and cocktails prior to having dinner. Or one can explore outside the property. There are several inns around the area that have their own restaurants or cafe. There is also a surf shop just across the road from the resort. For the tired muscles, one can avail of a body massage for a reasonable price. The reservation comes with a buffet breakfast with a good selection of traditional filipino fare. It really is a plus, especially for those who are still trying to wake up in the morning, not to have to go out of the property for a meal. All in all, it was a wonderful stay. Since it is the only one legitimate resort in the area, I suggest you book way in advance.

Costa Pacifica was fully booked during our trip so we ended up here. Apparently it is also a Costa…read moreproperty. It is quite unique in a sense that the rooms are repurposed shipping container vans. The exterior is painted white which contrasts nicely with the green lawn and blue sky. We stayed in a trio room with three single beds. The beds were comfy. The sheets were clean. The room has a wall TV and equipped with an airconditioner. The bathroom is a bit small but manageable with ample space for one to move around. It is equipped with hot and cold showers and towels and basic toiletries are provided. They have a dining area that is open. Buffet breakfast is provided with the reservation. But since we were the only ones left on the 3rd morning, we were provided with breakfast blue plate style, The food was actually good. They serve traditional Filipino fare of longanisa, daing na bangus, etc. But they also serve dishes such as eggs benedict, spaghetti and burgers. Because it is a Costa property, you can ask the staff to make a reservation at the Beach House should you want to have a more expansive menu. The location is a little hidden from the usual traffic. It is actually nice when you're looking for some relaxation and quiet time. It is also only a 5-minute walk from the beach and restaurants. The only downside for us is, unlike Costa Pacifica, it is not pet-friendly. Otherwise, with very nice and accommodating staff, this is one hotel that we can go back to when in Baler. It is not as luxurious as Costa Pacifica but is definitely one of the better hotels in the area. And the price is very reasonable.

GOING NATIVE HERE!!! To experience the beauty & culture of the Ifugao (Mountain) province,…read moreCordillera region of the Philippines, we decided to avoid the populated Poblacion (town center), Banaue, and choose a more serene site for rest. Why come to this region of the Philippines? It's the location of the Ifugao Rice Terraces, one of seven MAN MADE Wonders of The World! The view here is actually of the Hapao Hungduan Rice Terraces, and it is GORGEOUS! The weather here is VERY different than the rest of the Philippines, much cooler & less humid than the rest of the country, (although the locals say the weather pattern is changing, getting hotter in the summer months). Easy access to the Banaue & Hapao Rice Terraces, but about an hour away from Batad & Bangaan Terraces. This isn't your typical "Inn" though. Here, we get the chance to sleep in AUTHENTIC Ifugao Native Houses, with seven to choose from. Each with electricity but no air conditioning, which isn't used commonly in this region. ONE Centralized bathroom & showers with hot water, though. ;) Quiet time starts at 8pm. Really not much to do at night here and any of the local "towns," anyways. It's pretty dead, actually as this is basically a farming community. The local river roars in the distance that creates a lulling noise to ease you to sleep. They do offer mosquito nets & mosquito oil electric plug-ins to help the concerns for irritating bites, yet wasn't much of a concern during our stay in November. But, mornings & breakfast views are the REAL appeal here. BEAUTIFUL views with lotsa green seen with minimum human development other than the Rice Terraces in this view. The staff is quietly friendly, always smiling, and take care of the Inn concerns & guests quite skillfully. Solid crew! Tasty Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here. This was definitely one of the highlights of my family's visit, but my mother in law wasn't as keen on the uneven steps on the grounds, the steps up each house, and the distance to the shared bathroom. The views were what made the difference for her cuz she wasn't diggin' it when we first arrived at night lol! Still, an easy recommendation for those lookin' for something cool & out of the ordinary :) Just so you know, To get to this region, Google Maps isn't gonna help you. Those trying to drive to this Inn on their own with Google, were way off course. Our guide, Rems Tarlit (+63 908 358 8417, not connected to Inn) was an awesome source of knowledge of the Northern Luzon region and its history. This friendly English speaking chap also is an easy recommendation ;)
