Bring your own Charcoal and food to cook (maybe next time) We just got fresh shrimp & squid (about 5"'s) & they cooked it for us by the beach. Life is rough. I could get use to this. The squid was chopped into small slices w/green peppers and oyster sauce simple, fresh and delicious. The shrimp were steamed with heads on and a large pan of rice.

There are also several cottages that can be used during the day if they are not booked or occupied. The beach can stretch to over a hundred meters on ebb tide. Rooms open to the front verandas where you can set up for al fresco dining. Rooms are clean and has airconditioning. Smart TVs where you can plug downloaded movies. There is an outhouse for communal cooking with gas stoves and sinks provided as well as prep areas. This is important because dining out can only give you the same options at some point. There are also hammocks, outdoor seating and lounge chairs and dining huts by the beach side. There is a convenience store by the corner for small stuff if you forgot something. Staff are responsive and accommodating. Prices are reasonable and competitive.

The place was okay, it was a big waterpark (I like saying that word because it reminds me of the movie Grown Ups) with adult and kiddie pools with slides, and a wave pool. The shower rooms were clean and relatively well-maintained considering there are a lot of people coming there. Guests can choose to stay in tables or cabanas according to their budget and there are several areas for grilling, so families can definitely bring their baon, or order from the restaurant inside (which I wasn't able to try, unfortunately). I liked that the place is very family-friendly; it's ok to swim in t-shirt and shorts (as long as there's no metal) and they're very strict about prohibiting alcoholic drinks in the vicinity. I had a slight issue about breastfeeding my four-month old baby in the cabana, but I'm pretty much used to nursing in public by now. The entrance fee was reasonable (240 for adults, 210 for kids) for the place is big with lots of amenities. My daughter had the BEST time swimming there. She just swam and swam until she was too tired and fell asleep. She was so happy that I think an hour drive going to the place is absolutely worth it.

I have had to call the front desk for more issues and "special requests" (which at any other resort, would be considered normal) more times in the last 24 hours than anyone should need). 1. Key cards don't work- they didn't have the password to activate it so the gave me a master key card- yes-I had access to all rooms. Security is clearly not a concern. 2. Prior to us checking in, they didn't a quality check of the room. So at 5am when 3 of us we're trying to shower and get out to our excursion, the top bathroom had no water for shower or a flushing toilet. The first floor had no hot water- and to make things even more annoying was they thought we just didn't know how to turn on the faucet. 3. The safe does not work- in fact none of the safes work. - again, security is not a big concern. Neither is resolving issues. 4. Apparently house keeping doesn't have a checklist and if they do, checking the amount of toilet paper isn't on the list. So with 3 women in a 2 bedroom loft, with the TP clearly running out, one still has to call to get it replaced. (Does this sound like a 4or 5 star resort to you yet?). Same situation with bottled water. One has to ask for it. 5. They don't have wash cloths (face towels) or loofahs at this "resort". Never in my life and extensive travels, has any hotel not provided a wash cloth. This might sound petty but when you are in a county where it is hot and dusty, it's important. Who packs their own towels when you are going to a hotel??? Even after several calls to the front desk and 2 requests for a manager, no one has even contacted us or acknowledged the issues. It's only my second day into being here and I'm not thrilled but after many flights and hotel check-ins- packing up and finding another resort for a few days is not an option I really want to consider. So we're stuck over paying for 1 star services in a 2 star hotel.

Things happened, including accidentally spilling water (knocking over a glass of water) to one of our guests by one of their servers. Looking at the positive side, we got classic Filipino dishes, and we were amazed by the preparation of the food and its authentic taste. The staffs were nice, ambiance is good, nothing too fancy. The check-in process was easy. We did arrive a little early that our room was not yet ready. But they did offer us some welcome drinks to quench our thirst after the long drive. The restaurant was just a few steps from the front desk that we opted to just stay there and have a meal while waiting. The restaurant has a good view of the pool and the beach, which was very inviting. You can feel a breeze through the open glass doors. We booked studio type room that was overlooking the pool. The room was modern, spacious and clean. The same with the bathroom. We didn't get to swim in the pool as we opted for the beach. The beach has a very long coastline making it perfect to learn how to surf. Should you decide to learn how to surf, there is a company within the resort that you can use or you can just go down to the beach and contract with any of the local surfers. It can be relatively cheap if you know how to bargain. But I guess, they have a standard fee to make it fair for everybody. After some surfing, one can either go back into the resort and enjoy some appetizers and cocktails prior to having dinner. Or one can explore outside the property. There are several inns around the area that have their own restaurants or cafe. There is also a surf shop just across the road from the resort. For the tired muscles, one can avail of a body massage for a reasonable price. The reservation comes with a buffet breakfast with a good selection of traditional filipino fare. It really is a plus, especially for those who are still trying to wake up in the morning, not to have to go out of the property for a meal. All in all, it was a wonderful stay.
