I just had a wild experience at Swaad Indian in PC…read more I ordered $74.51 worth of food at about 3:30 for a 5:30 pickup. We were so excited to try this place and have leftovers for lunches this week. I get there early at like 5:15 or so and head in. There was just one other guy there waiting on a takeaway order. I hang out and wait at the counter for several minutes. The lady finally comes out with his order and then to the counter and tells me they have no knowledge of my order. She walked to the back a few times, looked on a few phones and tablets, and finally just said they didn't have it and she'd have to ring up what I wanted and start over. Ok, fine. We're hungry but I get glitches happen. She can't figure out how to ring up what I ordered. She makes a few more trips to the back and finally just calls the owner and they sort out adding extra protein to the dishes. This takes several minutes. Then she claims they don't sell paneer biryani. I showed it to her on my order confirmation. She replies, "Are you sure?" like I just spent my time making a fake order or something. I chuckled and replied "Yes, it's right here on my order I just showed you." She just stands there... I asked if she could go ask whoever was in the back. She goes to the back again and returns several minutes later with a total over $80 for the same order I made that was $74.51 online. I pointed out that the price was wrong so she goes off to the back again for several minutes and comes back and says "It will actually be $78.xx, is that ok?" I again chuckled and said, "This is getting kind of crazy. Not only will my food now be very late, you're trying to charge me more for it. If anything you should offer a discount." I asked if she could just call the owner back and ask him what's going on. Now I'm on speaker phone with him trying to explain that the system was trying to charge me more for the identical order I made online. He was very argumentative which made it hard to explain. This took a comical amount of time going item by item with the prices on my order with him and he finally asked to speak with the cashier again. It was like arguing with medical insurance about an itemized bill or something... She takes it off speaker phone and they chat for a bit. She then looks to me and says, "He's says pay the new total or we will cancel the order." I said, "Are you serious?" and asked her to put it on speaker again. The complete lack of urgency, understanding, or shred of concern during my time there up until this point was crazy. I felt like I was on an episode of Seinfeld or skit from SNL or Punked. I said to the owner Joseph "As a business owner, are you seriously willing to lose a $75 order and customer over $3?" I explained I was new to the area and very excited to try his place after reading reviews and we would order regularly. He said yes he was and started arguing with me. I said "Well, you've lost a customer." He then started to yell and continue to argue with me so I said "F-you man" to which he replied "No, F-you!" as I walked away. The cashier looked up in shock when he said that to me. I said "I'm telling everyone about this!" to him as I exited. I take ownership of the first F-you and don't even care that he said it back. It was just over 20 minutes of insanity at that point and I was done. I'll also add there was nobody else in the restaurant. I was completely calm and tolerant and even chuckling about the situation up until then so it wasn't a scene or anything. This was a simple fix for any business. "Sorry our system didn't work, we'll get that started right away for you. Oh, what price were you quoted online? No problem, sorry about that. That'll be $74.51 and we'll toss a samosa in the bag for your troubles."
