I tried the bear crumble iced latte which was my favorite. The tiramisu latte made for a great drink on a cold day. My boyfriend enjoyed his vanilla cappuccino. The Oreo crepe was the most decadent dessert for breakfast item! It was so yummy and loaded with Nutella and crushed Oreos. Perfect for a sweet tooth! We took out the bananas because I don't usually like chocolate/banana mixed together and they were able to accommodate. I liked that the bacon egg and cheese sandwich was on ciabatta bread (one of my favorite breads) and I liked the addition of the avocado, made it taste more fresh. They also only use turkey or beef bacon. The Kinder bueno croissant was a unique menu item to try! The hazelnut cream was sweet and light and it even came with pieces of a Kinder bar on top. The service was really prompt and attentive. I loved how close it is to Tropicana and the beach. I'll definitely be back here next time i'm in the area.

I've never had such a contrasting visit within a single weekend before, so had to update my review…read morefrom 5 stars to this :( This place was excellent on a weekday but was terrible on a Sunday morning. We had such a great experience on Thursday in the early afternoon. Drinks were quickly made, tasty flavors, loved the decor, staff were friendly. We came today and they were pretty busy but didn't look like anything too overwhelming. However, I ordered a single drink (iced matcha latte) and it literally took them 25 minutes to have it ready! And that was only because I went up at 20 minutes to ask how much longer, which likely made them hurry it up a bit. My friend was behind me in line and they just temporarily stopped taking orders after mine so they could catch up, but that left my friend standing there for over 15 minutes just waiting to be helped. I saw at least 6-8 people leave because the wait was taking too long. The line kept getting longer and they just kept getting slower. Seemed like they were getting slammed with Door Dash orders and those there taking priority. However, if you are as busy on a weekend as this place gets, maybe you should prioritize the customers who are there in-person and take a break from the Door Dash orders. I bet most of the people who left (or stuck out the terrible service) will not be returning which is sad because I've seen how amazing this place can be at non-peak hours. Not only was the service much worse, but the drink I got was as well--the matcha tasted very different than the one I had a few days ago and was way less sweet. I'm sure they missed some things as they rushed to make it. In the future, I wouldn't take the risk on coming back here since you don't know which experience you'll be getting.

They had the whole front window of the place open and there was a nice ocean breeze going through the whole cafe. The decor and aesthetic were boho and beachy and I felt like I was inside an ambience video. They even had a paper that said "take what you need" at the front counter with all positive quotes and sayings to brighten customers' day! I ordered a drink called "A Friend of Dorothy's" and it was absolutely refreshing! It was coconut milk, lemonade, and orange syrup and it was iced cold and delicious! I liked their original, unique menu and genuine effort put into the whole experience. My mom ordered a lemon bar and she said it was chewy and yummy as well. Prices were reasonable for the size of the drink and as I stated before, aesthetics were on point! I love that this place is owned by two Colombian sisters who are Jersey proud too! I definitely recommend this place and can't wait to go back and soak up more beachy coffee vibes at Remedee before the summer is over! Just stop in on your way to the beach, you won't be disappointed!

We ate there every morning for breakfast while in Margate. Would highly recommend Gilchrist to others. We had scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, hubby also had the potato's with his meal. But as someone who isn't from the area (more familiar with Stone Harbor/Cape May), I'm speaking strictly about the food and I'd say it was pretty average. The pancakes, bacon, and eggs just didn't hit the mark. The pancakes were heavy and tasted like they'd either soaked up too much oil or weren't fresh, and the eggs definitely weren't cooked medium-well as ordered (as you can see in the photo). Nothing was outright terrible, but nothing really stood out as good either. On the positive side, the staff and service were excellent, and the prices are very affordable. So if you're hungover or feeding a big family on a budget, this place makes sense. But if you're visiting from out of town and used to spots like Uncle Bill's, this won't really compare. Locals may know the best dishes to order here, but for me, the basics just weren't very good.
