Most of the time, it's not a difficult thing to find a drugstore or Grocery store that has replacement blades. This was not the case In Burlingame. As a result, I was facing having to go to the funeral without a clean shaven face. The last place I checked was Gameday, but I did not have much hopes. After all, who's going to sell me a razors when they could insist I get a cut? I didn't catch the name of the barber in the first chair, but he helped without hesitation. He was really nice and refused to take any money from me (it was just one razor, but I offered $5 for his troubles). I lived in the Bay Area for a long time and my wife was a long-time resident of Burlingame. Some of you may remember the city as it was 30 years ago. People just took care of each other. To whomever that individual was that night, thank you for helping out. Not just with the razor, but in helping bring back that small time feel.
