Emotionally speaking, Burt Bacharach wrote, "A chair is not a house and a house is not a home." I'm not sure which muse I was following when I typed "Best Realtors Oakland" on SFiST in December, but I was extremely lucky to have found Joe. I had owned a house in Oakland for quite a number of years. When I first bought it in my financially undernourished youth, I invested money to turn it into a duplex, and then years later I moved out to turn it into a full rental property. When long-term tenants left in November, I reached a moment of reflection when I decided to sell the house. That and freedom from the chains of property management. Without selling experience on my own, I reached out to Joe blindly, and I immediately had a strong sense of competence and trust that never wavered during the entire process. Since this house was truly not a home, at least for me, it needed some overdue repairs and a visual facelift, which initially overwhelmed me since I thought I would have to take care of it myself. However, Joe and his team took complete control and managed all the work and my cost expectations. They convinced me of the value of staging, which I honestly didn't know was essential in helping prospective buyers visualize the possibilities with the house. I mean, da-yum, this house be lookin' good (photo: https://bit.ly/381IA3e). By March, we were ready for a couple of weekends of open houses, and multiple offers emerged, an enviable situation for a seller in a high-demand market. It wouldn't have happened had it not been the meticulous efforts of Joe, Alicia, and their team. They really made the whole process much smoother and far less problematic than it could've been if I was left to my own devices. When I took that final look back at my house...excuse me, THE house, I finally recognized that Franklin and Burt were both right. Who da' thunk?

I've had the pleasure to work with Mindy Pengilly a few times over a long span of years. She has…read moreworked both as a mortgage broker and a realtor and knows the industry inside and out. In a field of many, her expertise, diligence, and positive attitude make her a stand out choice as a realtor. Mindy responded immediately to every email, text and phone call, even when I contacted her multiple times each day for weeks. She is the most positive person I've ever known which made the exhausting process of looking for a place to buy in a seller's market much easier and happier. Despite my very low price range for the Bay Area, Mindy never tired or worried about finding me a place I would love. Her keen eye quickly scanned each property and it's neighborhood, pointing out the pros and cons. She was especially concerned with my safety as a single woman and pre-scouted areas with that in mind. Mindy spent a considerable amount time with me, trying to find me a home. Having looked at dozens and dozens of condos, and having put in over 15 offers (all of which were outbid) before buying a property, it is easy for anyone to see that Mindy spent far more time on me than she got paid for in the end. The final bid was only accepted due to Mindy's charm and ability to sell me as a client to the selling agent. I'd still be looking and offering on places with no hope of succeeding had it not been for Mindy. Throughout the process, her business partner, Bill Curry, was at the ready, to look over any property I was serious about with his contractor's eye, and warn me of any pitfalls, as well as advise how to fix things easily. As a team, they are amazing. Both Bill and Mindy are experts in their craft, and can negotiate all the rules, laws, paperwork, downfalls, and even other "less experienced" realtors who present their own set of dangers in the minefield of buying and selling. They are both contagiously happy and make the arduous process fun! I would highly recommend Access Real Estate to anyone buying or selling. You are in the best hands with this team.

We worked with James based on strong recommendations from acquaintances who deal in real estate. We are so happy and fortunate that we had James as our real estate agent. We worked with him to explore homes all over the bay area-- Mare Island, Hercules, Pinole, & the North Bay, including San Rafael, Novato and, where our beautiful home is, Petaluma. We appreciate James exploring home after home with us, far and wide. We also are impressed by the wealth of his knowledge about real estate trends across the bay area and in these cities. With James, you will get someone who is very hardworking, who will help you navigate the real estate market (far and wide), and who will be someone to consult throughout the home buying process. James listens to his clients, and he gives sound advice on evaluating home listings, placing bids, negotiating contracts, and addressing any concerns along the way. With James' great advice, we placed a fair bid (asking price, which had been reduced by ~$40K) and have the seller pay all closing costs. He worked closely with our loan officer and took and placed every call we needed when my husband and I were freaking out (as first time home buyers) until the day of closure. In all, it took us about 3 months (!) to find the right home and we closed within about 25 days in no small part thanks to James' tireless effort. On top of it all, he was so kind-- bringing boxes for our move, flowers for when he handed us the key, and a box of welcoming gifts that reflected our hobbies and interests when we met up at a later date. My husband and I highly recommend James! You can't go wrong with him!

Jason was very friendly, patient, responsive, and informative. The home buying journey is an emotional rollercoaster and I couldn't have done it without him.
