HORRIBLE company! THIEF employees!!! i used bay area movers, they showed up late. began loading and in about 1- 1 1/2 hours in, i noticed the $250 from the top left kitchen drawer was missing. i went to grab it because my sister was on her way to pick up the $250 i checked all the draweres and it was totally gone! (i know whats in MY house and where!!! , i asked if they knew anything about it, they all said (nah idk). so i called the office and told justin (the manager), and he told me (dont worry sir, we can deduct it off you bill) wow, wtf!!! also after unboxing i am missing (3) old iphone from a collection i had from a box that i taped closed myself with clear tape! and when i opened it the cardboard was ripped and retaped with brown packing tape! im not stupid!!! and i am currently suing bay area movers for theft. so EVERYONE please just avoid using this shitty company, hire a company with 5 stars or move yourself. read more

Best movers ever. Nick, Marquis, and Deante went above and beyond to make sure everything went well. They got there on time and didn't quit until it was done 10 hours in July in Galveston county is brutal. Also thanks to Justin for getting the packing material so quickly. We had a minor miscommunication that was quickly resolved. The next day the guys drove up to the hill country with all of our stuff to unload into storage. Once they arrived they went right to work. There were a few items that I needed to get out of the truck and Nick offered to bring them to our current house which was 10 minutes down the road instead of me sitting around waiting. We were quoted $1500 for the move, these guys have been robbing us and our bank can't do anything about it. They claim they have our signature and they do not. We have now been charged a total of $6500. Every few weeks they take more out of our account. I'm not sure how or why, but do not use these guys! They broke my peloton, so many things during the move, we've tried talking to the manager and he won't file a claim even though the move was supposedly insured through them. read more

I used Bay Area Movers in the 90s, they did a fantastic job for my apartment, didn't have a lot of stuff at the time. Fast forward to August 2023, three bedroom house, no rain, high heat, stuff, a three man crew shows with a big truck. They were amazing! Nothing broken, nothing lost, they were fast, they were so helpful and attentive. My crew included Marius and Keith, I'm sorry I don't recall the third guy's name but they all worked hard, were careful, they did such a GREAT JOB! Worth every penny and I tipped them. My husband and I used Bay Area movers to move from a rental home to our new home, and as we have begun using our furniture and gotten settled in, our frustration has progressively grown with many pieces of furniture that we have discovered they have incorrectly assembled and inadvertently damaged. I had no idea that we would have such a poor experience as I heard great things, and the gentlemen I was communicating with ahead of the move were all very professional. Here's everything that took place: - As the crew was moving us, I mentioned that we were going to sell a 32 inch flat screen tv on Facebook marketplace for $25, and one of the guys said he'd take it, and I'd said "sure thing, $25 bucks and it's yours!" Throughout the day I honestly forgot about that conversation because I was distracted with everything going on. By the time they left, I noticed that the tv we were gonna sell was no where to be found. I then figured out that he took it without paying for it, this was very unprofessional. -When they started moving us out, I asked them if they could disassemble our treadmill and reassemble it, they said something along the lines of "we should be able too, this treadmill looks pretty straight forward." Well.. they ended up disassembling it and moving it to the new house, and said they wouldn't set it up because "it's a liability," so now we are stuck with a disassembled treadmill that we can't use. -We had slept in one of the beds they set up that was on a metal frame, and it was a lot squeakier than I remember. We looked at the base of the frame, and it turns out they completely incorrectly assembled the bed frame, and the mattress and box spring weren't even securely on the frame, we could have gotten injured or the bed could have broke while someone was sleeping on it because of what they did. -We also discovered that my stepdaughters bed frame was incorrectly assembled, the whole frame is loose and wobbling because the pieces were not tightly secured. -Finally, my husband and I's master bed frame wood base has a large crack in it that looks like it'll break in only a matter of time. All of this is so frustrating. We spent $1500 for these guys' time which was already an investment and also gave them a $40 tip each, but now we likely have thousands of dollars worth of furniture to repair and likely replace because of the poor work of these guys. Then, the cherry on top of our frustration was to know that one of the guys had to audacity to take a flat screen tv of ours without even paying for it. We planned on just giving him the tv, but the fact that he just took it without even saying anything was very inconsiderate. I'm not typically one to complain about something like this, but given the multitude of issues we had in our experience with this company, I felt the need to bring this up. read more

The crew that showed up to help me move was very good. They asked me if I needed anything particular to be done and I think I just told them of one thing and it was taken care of. They worked very well together and were very polite and caring. When they were moving my stuff into the new apartment they would always ask me where I wanted the stuff to be put. With the stress and hurry I forgot their names but I really recommend the company. When I called them I told them my bad experience the last time I moved out of state, they brought very creepy guys. one was looking to my girls very weird and asked a lot of questions. BAM - so appropriate They destroyed a chest of drawers and a $1000 Denon audio visual receiver BAM refused to take responsibility for the receiver that was working perfectly prior to the move. I would advise you select a different moving company- I wish I had! We had 3 men move our stuff and went to pick up items from 4 homes and drop off at the 5th. It took about 5 hours total and everything went smoothly and fast. The men took such great care of our items and took the precautions bringing the items in our new home. They were extra nice and set up a bed we had and hooked our washer and dryer up for us. The men who came out to move my boyfriend did a great job. They were nice and professional and did not damage anything. The price was quoted to be $115 per hour. They took a little over 2 hours and the price came out to over $400. Now, I am no mathematical genius but something isn't right. After calling the office, they lowered it some. We were told there was no fuel surcharge but were never told that they would add an hour to the move to get to the job from the shop (which is actually a 15 minute drive). These business practices felt very shady. Clear Lake movers has always been awesome and are very honest, which is what I told my boyfriend from the start. read more

I would never recommend this company to anyone ever again. They moved my elderly mother from her home to a storage unit back in October 2014. They did all of the packing and moving. When it was time to move her into her permanent residence it was in May 2015. After unpacking her boxes it was noticed that she was missing some items - specifically a brand new IPAD and other items. She called to tell the owner / manager about it and he HUNG UP ON HER!! She wasn't even asking for compensation, all she wanted was to let him know that this had occurred. Left 2 truck loads of stuff at old house, Christmas stuff that was to go in attic put in bedroom beside attic. Recliner left in two pieces. We moved about 5 miles away, from a 2 story townhouse to a single level single family. The 3 guys were amazing. Professional, courteous & really fast. They handled everything with great care. They even moved the upright freezer with food still in it. And a huge planter from outside. Wow! All in all, it took them less than 4 hours. I just used Bay Area Movers to move to a new home which is 3 miles away from my old home in Clear Lake. My old home is about 2000 sqft and we boxed most of the stuff. We only needed the mover to move boxes and big items like furniture and appliances. They gave me an estimate of 5 to 6 hours when I made the appointment. The movers stretched out to 8 hours at the end. They were very slow comparing to the other mover I used one year ago when I helped my mom move. Not only that, they scratched my fridge and washer during moving. I was very disappointed by Bay Area Movers and won't recommend or use them any more in the future. read more

Used Bay Area Movers after getting quotes from 2 other local companies. Their quote was the least expensive. Juan was very helpful leading up to our move date. Was told up front the clock started at 8am when crew leaves the warehouse and ends when they return to warehouse. (30 mins on front & back of move). These guys where great! Showed up ahead of schedule, ready to work, were fast, careful, and had it down to a science. We were VERY prepared & ready to go and they commended us for that! As it turns out, our preparation saved us tons vs. the quoted price...they were done 2 to 3 hrs early with a 4 man crew! Whole house move! Could NOT have been more pleased! I will never use this company again the movers broke my son tv and then when I called about them having my things insured they told me the most they could give me is 60 dollars they claimed they nailed the check but it's been 9 days and still have not received I asked to cut me a check and she told me they would take the 35 dollar stop payment from my check now you tell me does that make since you only giving me 60 dollars on my tv I paid 179 for now I'm out of a tv and still got no check it may not costed a lot but I paid for it and it was not cracked like they did the screen that tv was not even a year old I guess sometimes you lost and sometimes you win. My son and daughter-in-law hired Bay Area Movers to move from an apt to a house in Pasadena. Everything was boxed and ready to go. They had minimal amount of furniture to move. They were quoted 3 men, 1 truck, 5 hours. Movers arrived two hours late...two men and one truck. My son attempted to contact the office, no answer and no return call so they proceeded with the move...9 hours later and almost double the cost, they finished. The movers damaged a dresser, a grandfather clock, the back to the entertainment center and smashed the pedestal on the dining table. When inquiring about the damage they told him he didn't purchase any additional insurance so too bad it would be .60 a pound and he would need to contact the office. My daughter-in-law left five messages at the office...received one call back from the manager who stated she couldn't authorize any reimbursement or discuss any damage, she would have to speak to the owner....there has been no further response from Bay Area. Calls, email and certified mail all have gone unanswered. Save your money, the stress and your belongings...look elsewhere for a mover. read more
