Kevin and his team worked hard and were flexible. When my leasing office wasn't open and the freight elevator wasn't accessible, they were able to pivot and adapt quickly. The team had a positive attitude and greeted me with a handshake and a friendly smile first thing this morning. They all went above and beyond to make sure everything was placed exactly where I wanted it. Nothing was damaged, and they treated all of my home, furniture, and belongings with respect. Not to mention, I asked if they would drop of my mattress at my new place down the street from my storage unit (an added extra stop) and they said they would! After the final stop, they closed me out and everything was done in 2 HOURS!! I was shocked. This crew of three guys done in 2 hours packing up my 600 sqft apartment was a great value and money well spent compared to the other quotes I received. I interviewed about 6 moving companies and right away from talking with Abner I felt comfortable. Other moving companies were very persistent, trying to sell me, and seemed dishonest. Abner was very responsive and straight forward but did not contact me again after initial quote until I decided to go with him. He garunteed pick up date and arrival date (and time and was 10 minutes early each time!) which was huge for us as our move had to be very scheduled and other companies quoted us a 2 week interval (or more!) of when our items would be delivered. His crew in Houston arrived and packed our entire apartment, included disassembling basic items. They were extremely professional and efficient. Every item even valuable and breakable items arrived in perfect condition. He met us in San Fransisco 5 days later and him and two others unloaded all our boxes and assembled any dissassembled items. Again very professional and efficient. Iron back movers turned what could have been a very stressful move into 0 stress. Abner was extremely hardworking, professional, and easy to work with as was every member of his team. We hope we can use him for any future moves even though we are no longer in Houston!

We scheduled the moving date, signed a contract, and were ready to go! On moving day, the movers arrived promptly and they were so quick in moving everything! within two hours everything had been moved out of our townhome! It took them another hour and a half to move everything to the new place. Very impressed! They also wrapped certain pieces of furniture for us and disassembled as well as assembled others. Cost was reasonable as well. I would say they are more cost efficient compared to other movers we had inquired. Overall we had a good experience with iron/back movers and would use them again for our next move!

We did a video call so they can give an estimate, we never received an estimate. The movers came to pack move and unpack. They didn't know they were supposed to be packing/unpacking. I had to call and confirm instead of them. They left my front door wide open and never turned the gate back on so if I hadn't gone back for cleaning supplies my door would've been left open over night. When I told the only guy who spoke English he said "I wasn't the last one out" no apologies just a lazy answer. They never unpacked properly. I started unpacking the kitchen, so they had an idea of where things went. They didn't try, they just unpacked random stuff and threw it in places. Appliances were disassembled which could have easily been put together. My cake stand was in two thrown on the counter top with a box over the glass in an unsafe manner. They said they were scheduled to come back tomorrow and when I called to complain about how the place left they said the job was done and I should've said something before they left. I told them they should leave instead of waiting for me to return after picking up my daughter they told me had to pay. Which understood I'll pay for the day, but the packing job was not done. These are scammers. It's been a long time since I dealt with a business like this but this one beware.

However... it was up three floors. Elvin and Milton showed up, worked quickly and efficiently. Like Samson from the Bible, or something from the Lord of the Rings, these two chaps were carrying things I did not know was physically possible. I used their service yesterday (03/29/20), they gave me a 12-3pm window, the guys called me prior to coming out, gave me a heads up which I needed because I was not at the pick up location. They got to my apartment at 12:10. Marcus, Vann, and Kurtis show up, and my first thought was, "wait did I ask for a 3 man crew or 2?" because the 3 man crew was extra per hour. They told me, no you're down for a 2 man crew but you're getting all 3 of us today! Wow, how great is that, no extra charge! So, right away I informed the guys that I added an extra stop (to a storage unit), than originally planned. No issue. I let them know which items were for storage and which items were going to the new house. After we got that handled, THEN they started the clock when the first box got touched. So, you don't have to worry about this company trying to take advantage of that hourly rate. They start when the first box is touched and stop the clock when last box is dropped off. These guys did an amazing job and were very careful with the boxes that i had marked fragile, they communicated well with each other and that lead to getting the job done quicker (than I expected). At the storage unit, they put it together like a puzzle getting all my boxes and china cabinets, and etc in place. Once at the new house, they were on top of it, they got everything moved in and set up really quickly. Once the job was done, Marcus gave me the breakdown of the bill, no surprise fees, it was exactly what Kurt told me it would be. Thanks again to Big Heart Moving!

During my recent move, I decided to give them my repeat business. Huge mistake. You get what you pay for. They quoted $110 per hour plus $70 admin fee, minimum 2 hours. That was fine. However, when they showed up, they advised that they charge $15 per roll for shrink wrap. I was in agreement with using the shrink wrap and blankets but they advised they were not sure how many rolls they would use. Then it was changed to 3 rolls. I've used movers in the past and they have always included shrink wrap and blankets in their pricing. However, I've also seen how the shrink wrap is used and 3 rolls is grossly overestimated. I've included a picture of the shrink wrap roll for reference. After signing for them to start the job, a never ending agreement about the number of shrink wrap rolls they would use, and the clock already ticking, I agreed for them to move forward with the additional $45 scam. Instead, they went outside, spoke amongst themselves and someone on the phone and advised that they would not be completing the job and left. I called the primary phone number and spoke with the owner who advised me that I should have accepted the scam pricing from the beginning and then disconnected the phone call. Cancelling a job because you don't want to be called out for overcharging for shrink wrap that should be included in your job is ridiculous. Moving is stressful. To walk out on someone during a time like that is not someone that deserves your business. The bright side is that I had another moving company's card on my door. I contacted them and they were available in the late afternoon. They ended up coming a few hours earlier. The price included the shrink wrap and blankets. They completed a HUGE job in 2.5 hours. I paid more per hour and tipped the 3 movers well. The fact that Astros Moving Company attempted to ruin my day over $45 is ridiculous. They would have made much more than that in tips and repeat business. Edit as of 05/09/25. In response to the owner. I NEVER advised them that I did not have the money to pay the ridiculous $45 for three rolls that were clearly not going to be used. After agreeing to disagree, I actually advised them to move forward. They chose to walk away instead. Not only did I pay more than the $45 with the other moving company, I tipped them generously. In business, some things are about the principle, not the money.

Everytime they changed owners, the transition has been seamless for the tenants. I will say the price has consistently went up throughout the years, hence minus one star. That was one of my motivations to get do away with the unit and either sell or get rid of what I have in the unit. The cost of what u have paid over the years definitely is way over the worth of the property inside. The property is very clean and well secured. I wanted climate controlled and I have never been inside where I have felt it wasn't controlled. They have moving equipment on hand to help you move your items as well. Customer service, especially with Extra Space has been outstanding. I was able to put my notice in to leave online. I wasn't sure if gate codes have changed since the new ownership took over so I called and spoke to Natalie. She was very helpful and told me I have till the end of the month to move out even though my move out date was about a week earlier. That little bit of information put less stress on me. She text me with all the codes and also notified me that my unit was clean and good to go after. If I am ever in need of storage in the future, I will definitely reach back out to Extra Space Storage.

All of my recyclables this time were easy lifts, so they have a drive-thru where you stop, and somebody comes and gets everything out of the car for you. Like a grocery pickup. They just do everything while you wait in your car. They also have the ability to take larger equipment. Some of those things you have to set an appointment for and certain items have to be paid for for them to take it. It's usually a very small fee just for disposal costs and things like that. Entirely worth it for whatever it is you're trying to do. Nothing here is expensive. Highly recommend if you're looking to offload some extra stuff that you're not using anymore without just chucking it in a trash can. They also have paper recycling and shredding services available. Check out their website and see if they'll take what you have.

The bay holds three cars and they have designated spots for each vehicle. You must stay in your car and let the attendants take whatever you're recycling out of your vehicle. One good thing about Stella Roberts is that they take all sorts of items/materials. On my last visit, I dropped off old electronics and cell phones. They also take the typical materials like plastic, aluminum, and paper. They accept large appliances and hazardous materials, but I believe you have to make an appointment first. You can drop off items during non-business hours. They have large bins positioned just outside of the drive thru gate for old clothes, books, and small appliances. I like to drop off old clothes and shoes here for textile recycling. I'm grateful for the bins since it's difficult for me to visit during business hours.

We hired a three man team to move household furniture to storage. Each member was courteous, and respectful of the task at hand. They took great pains to protect larger equipment, and we did our part in properly boxing our own household furnishings. They asked questions when necessary, accommodated our requests in a friendly manner, and were careful not to damage our property. They also worked very hard, with no slack time - but not rushing to avoid damage. I was very impressed. Some companies are just "muscle and truck" for hire. The moving warriors were all very nice, courteous and well conditioned to handle the move--there were some mighty cumbersome and very heavy furniture pieces and they knew exactly how to wrap 'em up, strap-'em up and lift them into the truck. I have used Bay Area movers for over 15 years now. They were recommended to me by a friend. Since that first move, they have been my only movers. I had them help pack with my last move as well. They did such a great job, that I will never move without their packing service again. Freddie, Nick, and Paul were at my door exactly at 8:30 AM, as promised, and immediately introduced themselves. They had my apartment packed within 45 minutes and got me moved into my new home by noon - all 3000 sqft of it and mostly upstairs. I was blown away! My wife and I were amazed at the high quality of work and professionalism by Bay Area Movers. We had to shut down my wife's Mom's home that she had lived in for 57 years, so there was a large accumulation of "stuff" that had to be moved into storage for future sorting. Bay Area Movers will always be my first choice for moving services and I will always recommend them. They do not charge you with all the trip fees etc as the others quoted. The have a 2 hour minimum which came out to be about 435.00 with 3 guys. They were done within the 2 hours and they were very professional and proficient. The supervisor came out and I gave him a walk through of my house a few weeks prior to the moving day. I had a lot of out door plants and such. He suggested a second truck if I wanted to be sure everything got moved because it would be more expensive to come a second time. He quoted me $1300 and said that would assure everything got moved at once. When I called him back to book, I secured two trucks. A few days prior, I called because I was concerned about the 90% chance of rain. He told me it was not a problem and the move all the time in the rain. On moving day, no one showed at 8am like I was told the day before. I finally called at 8:30 and the same supervisor told me a couple of guys ran late and they would be coming soon. I was not happy being it was not raining yet and we were missing out on the window of opportunity to move stuff while dry. At 9am I called again and he told me they were leaving and headed my way. When they arrived at 9:30 the moving began. When they got to a couple of glass cabinets I asked if they were going to wrap them in anything. They said they would but then I noticed the work stopped and I was told they had no wrap and were sending someone to get it. After a good while someone brought wrap and my cabinets were wrapped and moved. The rain started to come down hard but the moving continued. I had told the supervisor prior that I needed my things in the attic moved as well and he assured me they would get them but in the stress of the rain mess, we left without it. I realized when we left so I called the superintendent and he said they would bring it tomorrow so I said okay. When we got to the new house it was pouring rain. They emptied one truck and started the second but then the supervisor asked me if they could bring the remainder of the second truck the next day because it wasn't letting up and the guys were soaked. I said it was fine if my things were secure overnight and they said yes so I agreed. He returned shortly and said they needed the truck so they would need to finish so I said that's fine. He leaves agin but then returns to say the guys don't want to finish and they'll keep my stuff on the truck and finish in the morning. The next morning I get a call to meet at my old house at 11am so I arrive but they don't show until 1p. They start tossing boxes down out of the attic and I heard glass so l asked they not throw boxes (I later found they broke a Christmas figurine in a box) We returned to the new house and they unloaded the remaining boxes. The supervisor tells me the total was $1900. I asked how the total would rise $600 and he said because they had to stop because of the bad weather and come a second day. I was floored! I told him I called to ask about the pending bad weather but he assured me it would get done regardless. It was not my fault and at no time was I told that there would be a higher charge to come the next day. I never would have agreed to it. He yelled at me that it was not his fault they stopped due to weather and he wasn't going to come out a second time for free so I once again told him I was not going to be gouged (and his crew was an hour and a half late missing no rain time) while he NEVER mentioned additional charges. I paid him $1300 and they tried to have me sign the $1900 invoice. I refused to sign until they changed the amount. Beware of this Jesse guy. He's a crook imo

I had rented a UPACK trailer to move my things and they were told to come out here to load up all the boxes that I already packed myself and some furniture. José, who is the business owner and Chase, who is one of the workers and a third worker who I don't remember the name of, but i do remember had a spine tattoo showed up to my house to complete the job. First of all I moved just as much if not more things out of my house then they did so I did not have the opportunity to stand over the man (spine tattoo) who was packing the trailer and watch what was going on, but they assured me they were professional, they do this on the daily basis and they know exactly how to pack the trailer. So I said ok. I provided five ratchet straps two of which I had to send my friend out to go buy as soon as they got there just so I could assure we had enough. I also provided my own shrink wrap as they showed up with a less than half used role and quoted me $25 per each shrink wrap roll. Further more because this load was not going on their truck they did not utilize any of their own blankets so I gave them literally every single towel out of my house and every single throw blanket out of my house to cushion my furniture and my breakable things. I had boxes that I explained to them had my great grandparents crystal collection and were very fragile / very breakable and almost every single piece of that was broken due to the negligence on the companies part of stacking boxes under heavy furniture. They also didn't even care to ratchet strap the heaviest things in : my king size bed, my washer and dryer that were at the very back of the load (by bulkhead doors) so I had to open the bulkhead doors on the trailer climb in there myself and strap them in - there were still two unused ratchet straps hooked to the wall. But everything was loaded, and I couldn't exactly see how it was loaded until the trailer got shipped to my new house, and I took the bulkhead doors off again and started unpacking things. To my disappointment I found almost every single box either dented or damaged due to the way they stacked it in the truck. My cat tower that's less than a month old was completely broken. My great grandparents Crystal collection and porcelain collection was almost all broken. I have a brand new king size bed that I've had for less than eight months that has huge scrapes on it. I have a TV stand that has a whole chunk out of it. I have a TV that's literally broken. The list goes on. Of course I was furious and left a very urgent and unkind voicemail to the buisness number I had for them and chase, one of the workers called back and tried to immediately blame it on whoever unloaded it, when I explained it was me and my family and we FOUND them that way, he tried to blame it on the company that shipped the trailer, once he realized I was not gonna be BSd or let it go he offered me 500 bucks, I said I haven't even finished unpacking and counting up what's damaged so let me do that first and I'll call back. 2 days later I tried to call back and got nothing. A day later after another voicemail was left jose the owner called back and said that they pretty much weren't responsible and that I signed the form and tipped them at the end so I couldn't have been that unhappy with the service, I explained how I didn't know then of course that the MAJORITY of my things were damaged so of course I tipped. I also provided MULTIPLE water bottles and sweat rags and even let them hose themselves off in my yard. Moving forward I was contacted again- this time by Jose's wife and was told she had looked over the agreement and wasn't sure what she could do for me but if I had proof/pictures/any documentation she would be open to reviewing it. I emailed her all the photos that are attached below and got radio silence back. I waited a few days and attempted to get in touch again via phone call and nobody would pick up, I texted them and communicated that an email was sent with proof of all the damages - still radio silence. I waited a few more days today. I texted and said if I didn't get contacted I would be leaving a very ugly review. REVIEW SO LONG CHECK PHOTOS FOR FULL STORY!!!
