This is a life changing program on being human. I've been an elementary school teacher and I wish…read morewe could have (no, had) to teach this material. If you are a coach or in any kind of healing or personal growth professional you really owe it to your clients to go through this experience. Yes, it's NLP. You will learn "classic" NLP at a level of depth and integration that I've never seen taught anywhere else (and I've trained with other NLP schools) but it is also so, so, so much more.

I have worked as a consultant for over 15 years and studied with NLP Marin about 6 years ago. It…read morehas changed my professional life - which of course is rooted in my changed personal life. 10 years ago, I was focused on understanding problems and creating solutions in the world "out there." That's, so I thought, is what I get paid for. I had the conviction that we were relatively well equipped to identify and interact with the world "out there" - which included the popular and politically correct relativism, cultural sensitivity, and the notion of personal view points. Today that looks a little comical - in a good natured sort of a way. Yes, the training of NLP Marin offers tools, communication and interpersonal skills, and powerful frameworks that help us make sense of the world in very different ways. They are totally worth the price of admission and you are getting a great deal. They don't not even begin to describe the value of the training. The best way I can describe it, so much of the value is about a quality of personal presence: intense curiosity, openness (as in suspending judgement), vulnerability (as in being willing to learn, be wrong, and safe enough in myself to expose myself...), and courage to do something - anything - when the time has come. Now, I have a deep appreciation for the interesting problems - the once you can't solve by paying for better expertise - where the solution is contained in the way we look at the problem. The solution is in our face but we don't see it. It is out of this personal presence that new questions arise. These questions shed new light on how we make meaning of our experience, what we are feeling, hidden assumptions in our thinking, and all the noise we are creating in an effort to stay safe - in a dance we put on together with everybody else. Priceless!!! Carl Buchheit, Michelle Masters, my teaching assistants and my community of peers have patiently hung in there with me (and still do today) as I am learning at my own pace to become more present to myself and make more useful distinctions about the world "in here" and how it dramatically affects the world "out there." Words fail it - you have to experience it...

A school with issues that STILL produces fine kids prepared for college…read more San Rafael High School is a long standing (by long I mean founded in 1888) high school with tons of history. All students that graduate from here end up LOVING this school. I myself graduated in 2007 and I still have very fond memories of this school. Pros: A handful of teachers STRIVE and WORK non-stop to see these kids succeed. During high school I had EXTREME money problems and a professor even offered me 400 bucks to help me get by. I didn't take the money but, just goes to show you the lengths they'll go for their students. The music program is arguably one of the best for a public school (I mean, they even have their own recording studio and broadcasting station.) Furthermore, its a REAL school. You see your jocks, weirdos and gang-bangers all going here. It's not an isolated school and your child experiences true life. Also many ESL students go to SRHS and thus this school has large english department. From beginning English all the way up to AP english. Many school don't offer that. I personally fell in love with this school and will hopefully send my kids here someday. Cons: the school is so old that it was falling apart when I left. I believe now they are renovating it and it has gotten better. The school has many issues including a high turnover rate of teachers, seems like every year 5 teacher quit and 5 more are hired. Keep an eye on this school and don't listen to just the negative word-of-mouth comments.

Michael provides clear instructions, quality equipment, and personalized advice to help you through the build process. Classes are flexible and he allows you to customize your project however you like. It makes the project feel much more personal! I took the cutting board class and he let me choose my materials (I chose walnut with maple), size of the board, and unique touches that I thought looked cool (rounded edges, handles). I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. It's fun to say to be able to say that you built something with quality materials that is going to last for years! The class took about 4 hours which I thought was totally reasonable. And I walked out of there with a finished project that I could show off right away. The shop is easy to get to and Michael works with you on scheduling to make sure you complete your project in a timeframe that works for you. The whole thing is really easy convenient! I'm looking forward to returning and taking other classes!

Awesome experience all around. Lesson learned: safe woodworking means no gloves and no long sleeves, so prepare to keep your core warm for sessions during the winter months.
