We hired her as a partial planner- we had several vendors already booked but she helped us select others and set-up our reception. She really strives to get to know you and your fiancé so that she can help shape your wedding to be personal and unique to the couple. She also made the effort to get to know my mother and work with her on a few surprises she wanted to plan for us at the wedding reception. Sandy was great about communicating via email and was readily available via phone. She met with us several times over the course of the wedding planning at my office so that it could be convenient for me to meet with her. Sandy is extremely organized and takes detailed notes on everything so she doesn't forget everything discussed. She sent me a checklist every few months to confirm what had been done and what still needed to be planned. It really helped keep me on track. Sandy gave me a full list of vendors to check out, which was incredibly helpful. Several of the vendors gave me a discount because Sandy was my planner! The day of the wedding, her team was on point with setting up our reception venue, organizing the bridal party, and making sure we were where we needed to be. At the reception, it was absolutely clear how organized and professional Sandy and her team were because my husband and I never had to worry about what was going on and where we needed to be- we each had a "handler" that kept track of us and made sure that the reception timeline was being adhered to. Choosing Baxter's Creative Events was the best decision we made when we began planning our wedding. My wife and I wanted to do a fusion Indian-American wedding, and we knew we had to hire an experienced wedding planner. It was evident early on that Sandy was quite experienced in wedding planning. She did her best to understand our vision even when we didn't know details of what we wanted. She asked us all the right questions to help us come to a final decision on how we wanted our wedding day to be based on a realistic budget. Even though Sandy was already experienced with Indian weddings, she took the time to understand and incorporate some of the differences within my Indian sub-culture. Throughout planning process, Sandy provided us with vast knowledge and pertinent questions to ask to ensure we were choosing the right venue or vendors for our needs, while staying within our budget. She accompanied us to the majority of meetings, and if she was unable to attend, she would help review contracts and make sure all questions were answered. She organized the wedding day timeline using her own template to customize it for all of our other vendors. This way everyone was on the same page, and knew exactly when and where they needed to be. On the Wedding Day, Sandy and the Baxter's Creative Events crew were everywhere, making sure everything was running smoothly. Every time I saw someone from the crew, they were busy with something but seemed stress-free and even seemed like they were enjoying the day. This kept us stress-free too. Where do I even begin to express how much gratitude and appreciation me and my new husband have for the Baxter team. Sandy, Will, and Brooke not only did an amazing job, but they went above and beyond for us. I thought I was pretty organized until Sandy would remind me of things that I not only didn't have on my list of things to do, but things I just flat didn't think about that would and could have been disastrous if she hadn't been there to not only point me in the right direction, but to implement executing these things. Our wedding ceremony was outside. We knew the risk from the start of having an outdoor wedding. Needless to say it poured all morning and afternoon. We had a Plan A, B, and C just in case of rain. However, since the ground was so wet, what happened, was a Surprise Plan D, that Sandy and her crew were able to create, put together, pull off at the last minute and make our day even more beautiful that I could have ever dreamed of. Luckily the Rain stopped one hour prior the ceremony and didn't start again until an hour after. If I didn't actually know better, I'd say Sandy Pulled that off too, because I know if she could have she would have! Sandy, Will, and Brooke worked in the wet cool weather and made the ceremony site so beautiful!! From the smallest details like Will making Sure the groom's Pocket square stayed in place, keeping me and our bridal party on track and on time, to running around setting up the surprise ceremony site all the way to breaking down reception site. This team is a well oiled machine that worked tirelessly throughout our day to make sure it was pulled off without a hitch. Excellent, wonderful, lovely, passionate, professional, and outstanding are just a few words to describe Sandy Baxter! Sandy was very organized and detail oriented. She asked us a lot of questions to make sure that everything was how we wanted it for our wedding day. She coordinated with all of our vendors to make sure they had their schedules as well as ours for the day-of. We did a lot of DIY for our reception and Sandy made everything that we brought look wonderful and professionally displayed. Sandy alone is fabulous, toss in her handy dandy husband and you have the dream team. I am terribly indecisive when it comes to just about anything, so imagine the amount stress and weight I was carrying when trying to plan my wedding. We settled on a venue that was of course almost 2 hours away, I knew I would need some serious help. Sandy was the first planner I spoke with and from the beginning of our conversation I knew I wasn't going to want/need anyone else, that she was the one for the job. She never rushed me in any decisions (which took longer than they probably should) and any ideas I had she knew exactly the perfect direction to lead me in to get it. I honestly don't know what I would have done without Sandy and her team. My husband grew up in the VA Beach area and I went to school here.....then had to move to Michigan for my job. We both wanted to get married in VA and didn't know how we would handle things. One of my friends used Sandy and suggested her to me. To be honest I'm the kind of person would have said "who needs a planner?" Now that I've used one I'm a convert. I'm hyper organized, so in the weeks leading up to my wedding, I began to question how much I'd needed Sandy's services, but on the day of she really blew me away! I didn't have to worry about a thing, and every time I even raised my head to look for something, Sandy was there with it in-hand before I could even ask. She handled several snafus perfectly and had them fixed before I even knew about them (e.g., when she went to pick up our napkins, they were the wrong color, so she had us upgraded, for free, to satin and the right color at the last minute!), and kept everything running smoothly.
