Very expensive. I had bike in for new tires and to trouble shoot an electrical short. They could…read morenot find the short. 5 months later I put bike in different shop(Haus of Trikes) for electrical short. They easily found it and fixed it. They also noticed front fork seals were bad. Pirate cycles either completely missed front fork seals leaking when they changed the front tire or they caused it and did not want to have to cover a free repair due to their negligence. When Haus of Trikes finished their work, they test rode bike and heard rear axle bearings grinding. When they took it apart to find out why...they noticed the rear axle spacer was missing. Cycle Pirates refused to acknowledge their mistake which could have killed me and refused any sort of reimbursement for their error. They say they only have 30 day warranty on their repairs. A rear spacer doesn't just vanish. I would avoid this shop at all costs...they seem to me to be incompetent. When I picked up my bike from Haus of Trikes, I was told they just had another customer in and were fixing mistakes made at Pirate Cycles.

My step son Steven recently used this business for a motorcycle repair. The issue was electrical and the motorcycle would not start. He was told that there would be a $90 diagnostic fee which could be applied to the repair if he chose to have the shop repair it. He received a call from them stating that the battery was dead and needed to be replaced in order to do the diagnostics. The diagnostic was done and nothing was wrong with the bike with the exception of a dead battery. He was charged $110 for the battery (retails for for less than $50) and $90 to install which takes about 5 minutes to do. I tried calling the owner Fernando de Moya to ask him to be more reasonable on the total. He refused. When Steven went to pick up his bike he was verbally accosted by Fernando because I called to question his billing. As far as I can tell the $90 diagnostic fee was not backed off of the invoice. No detailed receipt was given. In my opinion this business took advantage of a young adult.

Horney's Custom Cycles - New lights (after)

If you're doing any nighttime riding, you know the importance of good headlights. My original…read moreheadlights were "fogged" to the extent that I finally decided I needed to do something about them. I decided that LED lights were the best way to go. I found Horney's on Yelp while looking for places that serviced Harleys- specifically I was looking for headlight and passing lamps replacements for my 2014 softail. I had already did some online research and found a set made by HogWorkz - LED 7" Halomaker headlight with 4.5" Halomaker passing lamps. When I walked in, the first weekend of May, I was greeted by two friendly ladies working behind the counter. After explaining my headlight situation and a picture of the LED lights I had found online, one of the ladies explained to me that she could get those same lights but it wouldn't be the brand name. She began searching through her computer files and showed me the results. The price for the whole set was about $200 cheaper than the brand name and they were the same. The only drawback was that she would have to order them and it would take 4-6 weeks for them to arrive. I was good with that and so she ordered them there on the spot, took my phone number, and stated she would call me when the lights arrived. Fast forward to five weeks later - June 9th and I received a call from the nice lady from Horney's stating my lights had arrived. I made an appointment with them for 10am the next morning for the change out of the old lights with the new. I arrived the next morning just before 10am. They immediately took my bike in and in less than an hour was finished. The new headlights look amazing and definitely light up the roadway!! I'm extremely happy with the service I received, the helpfulness and pleasant nature of the employees, the quality of product, and the overall cost of my purchase. A hearty recommendation and 5 Stars! Check them out.

I had brought bike to another dealer and they charged me 2 1/2 hours labor at $139 an hour and never solved the issue. I was told about this shop and so i brought bike there, told them of the issue and they were game to try. The initial diagnosis didnt reveal much so Horneys called me and asked how much time i wanted spent to solve the issue, so i authorized another 1 1/2 hours of labor and nothing else. I rec'd a call 2 days later and the issue was solved and the bike was ready for p/u. I was told that my battery was replaced, and I didnt authorize it, but i was out of town at the time of the call and i knew tha battery was not that old. So i waited until I got home and checked and battery was only 2 years old and always kept on a trickle charger. I went to p/u bike and paid the bill. I rode home without issue and put trickle charger on bike and went about my day. 5 hours later trickle charger was still in the red (battery not fully charged) so i worried and called Horneys. I asked front clerk about it but she is only counter help and does not know much about the repair of the Harleys. She said she'd ask the repairman (Rick Horney) and get back to me. I was in the garage w the bike and it was 100 degrees and 90% humidity outside so it was hot and the return call didnt happen so I called again. She said she was busy with a customer and hadnt a chance yet to speak with mechanic. Mean while I removed seat and noted that the battery installed was not a OEM Harley battery, it was an aftermarket battery, in addition that the wires for the trickle charger were not placed correctly on the battery, the battery lock down bar was not reattached and the positive battery cable to the battery had a large crack and wire was exposed. I was not happy. The initial price of the battery was $196.95 and $70 labor to install it. I called Horneys again to tell them the issues of what i found, and that the price for an aftermarket battery I never authorized was high. Front clerk said she'd discount the battery to $165.99. But no mention about the other issues Id found. I asked if I could return the battery and I would buy a OEM replacement. She reluctantly agreed. There was never a return call to me about the other issues Id found. I went back to the dealer the following day with another unrelated issue, and spoke with the mechanic (Rick Horney) and he was verbally abusive towards me, stating how could I complain about other issues when he fixed the issue the other dealer could not. How dare i call so many times and abuse the front clerk. I never and would never verbally abuse anyone in customer service. When I called Horneys Custom Cycle, I was distressed but never mean. I was bringing attention to the issues Id found. So I went to the front counter where the mgr. was, (didnt get his name) and explained the situation. He then went to the back area and spoke w Rick to get his side and upon his return to the front counter, he said that I called too many times and now his shop refused any further services to me. I was banned from their shop. I said I would be back to bring the battery i no longer wanted and return it and I left. On Tues Aug 12th, I went in to return the battery, that I didnt authorize. I was given a refund for the battery and not for the $70 install fee. Do not utilize this shop. If you complain about the repair work and issues found with their work you too will be banned. Im going to file a complaint with BBB and Consumer Affairs. This is not the way to treat customers and people in general. I didnt need to be banned as I would never go back there again after how they treated me and abused me. And for their poor work ethics.
