The strangest place to go for Vietnamese food is Tagaytay. But hey, you actually can get get good Vietnamese food there.
Bawai's has always been one of those "must eat" places in Tagaytay. And I would concur with that statement. The good food coupled with the cozy and relaxing ambience is an exhilarating escape from the pollution and busy-ness of Metro Manila. I went there on a drizzly day, not really expecting much. My friend and I took a seat by the window and I immediately breathed in a fresh, cool breeze. That alone made the long drive worth it.
The food was equally comforting. I ordered fresh garden spring rolls. I loved the peanut sauce and the caramelized pork. I also ordered the chicken noodle soup, the double grilled pork belly and the black tiger prawns with tamarind sauce. Delicious!
Although they already have a branch in White Plains, I'd still prefer the original location any day! read more
