SMW Volvo

With the Mercedes, Audi, etc sales guys hounding me every second, my patience was growing thin. I found a car I liked at SMW and noticed a clear difference with the sales environment. This was a major factor in the decision as I prefer to shop alone and make my own decisions and the staff here where happy to leave me to it. They even gave a few thank you gifts when I signed on the dotted line. From previous experience there were no gifts from other dealers. Their care in the sales process gave me confidence that their care with the servicing should also meet my expectations. We shall wait and see.

The dealership has been here for quite a while but, until very recently, there was a service station here as well. I'm not sure if the opening of Sainsbury's garage (see my review) was a factor in its closing, but it's hard to imagine that it wasn't. They stock a wide selection of new and used Hyundais, and also have a small selection of other makes of cars. There are finance deals available (as you'd imagine) where payments can be spread out over 3-5 years, but if you go in here with cash then it goes a long way. The five year warranty that comes with new cars is attracting a lot of people to Hyundai (eclipsed only, I think, by Kia's seven year warranty). There are few people who would look beyond Boucher Road when they're going to buy a car, new or used, but if you like Hyundais or you like the sound of a five year warranty, check this place out.

He was four hours and he rang before he arrived to say he had no equipment or parts as his van had broken down the day before and he had a hire van not BMW. He said everyone is told four hours but no one cares anymore. Now it's back in Bavarian. The on board computer shows it sits where it was parked not moving six hours ago. It needs a software update that seemingly can't be done remotely but they couldn't even be arsed plugging in for the software fix. Shoulda boughta Lada.

After I test drove and ordered my car, they made sure to give me regular updates on the build progress of the car and likely arrival date. Even when the car had to be serviced, you leave the car off at Bavarian and they drop you back to your work free of charge. They then collect you once your car is ready. Complimentary drinks and snacks are available whilst waiting in the show room. The choice of a bunch of flowers or a large BMW umbrella upon collecting the car is a nice touch too.

When I took the car delivery, the ESP sign was on and since i have already paid for it the salesman is not willing to fix it for me. The Engine oil was not changed either which was agreed to be done as part of pre delivery work. When I call the salesman up, he completely refuses to do any service on the vehicle as he thinks he did not make enough money on the car. Now, 1 month after I have bought the car, I'll have to take it to a dealer and get it serviced for 200 quid !!! Really poor after sales support.
