Yummy cute spot near the Frankfurt central train station for local eats. Some reviews suggest it's…read moreclosed but it's just moved over a little while the main restaurant is under construction - check their website for the latest (they have details in English). Nice ambience and staff all speak English and are good at suggesting dishes to try! Beware portions are large - even by American standards!! My partner and I got 2 apps and a main to share and could not finish. We got the hand cheese music(?), beef sausage salad and a mushroom schnitzel. The schnitzel was by far the star of the show (as we should have expected)! The cheese is famous so we had to try it but sheep's cheese is a bit too strong for me and it had a harder texture than I prefer. My partner liked it though so I'd recommend giving it a shot if you're adventurous!! We also got their homemade lemonade which was a fizzy raspberry lemonade. Pretty good as well but wish I had tried one of their ciders!

They're trying to stick to the monastery beer vibe but it doesn't hit the mark in that regard. The old place was cozy and old and felt authentic, this place is new, loud and generic. Maybe it's not so bad and I'm sore because I miss the old place but it just doesn't feel the same. Service was good, food was good, beer cold but it still feels like every other place out there. Probably won't be back, unfortunately. If you like well lit, upscale, generic restaurants try this one out. The food is good but the ambience is off.

I completely agree with the other superb yelp ratings. This place was so cozy and quaint. We…read morearrived right at 5pm on a Saturday. Just as they were opening up. There was already a short line of people waiting. We didn't have reservations and luckily they had ONE table available that had not been reserved yet. This place is so popular by the locals that all the tables except for one had been reserved. The restaurant is known for their hand cheese so we tried the Spanish handy-- it was very delicious. It was served with chopped onions, black olives, a few tiny cubes of red bell pepper in an olive oil base with dry cilantro and a couple of slices of bread on the side. We got the small order and still had some left over to go. For my entree I had the rump steak with green pepper sauce. The steak was very lean and very tender. The green pepper sauce was absolutely delicious with just the right amount of spicy kick to it. I'm usually very picky about my steak and don't like any fatty parts. This didn't have any. I got a side salad along with it that balanced it perfectly. I'm definitely going to recommend it to my fellow visiting coworkers.

This place is adorable!! Traditional food of the Wiesbaden region, a definite must experience!…read more They are known for making their own apple wine, tastes a little bit like a white wine sangria but slightly lighter in flavor. Try the Stammer Max for a variety of meats & the Hand Cheese - it looks like applesauce but its cheese and you put an onion sauce over it. Very tasty! Also tried a fried cheese with a jelly. Don't recall the name of it but it was lovely. Anything with the green sauce is worth trying. They serve it with wiener schnitzel or hard boiled eggs. There is an English menu, just ask the start for it. They are very attentive. We are inside which was charming but the outside biergarten area looked so inviting!
