Disgracefull customer service. Called them today and spoke with Sarah, to say she was awkward and couldnt be bothered is an understatement. My partner requested her last prescription from Jan 2018 as she wanted to take it to specsavers appointment to compare. Sarah refused to give it over phone , fax or email. She kept saying it is no good to anyone as out of date.Sarah said you have to travel 15 miles to collect it in person. Due to data protection it cannot be posted to the address on file, even after answering security questions on phone. Due to COVID 19 Boris says stay at home, my partner does not drive and is 67 years of age so vulnerable. Batty and Dexter will try anything for customer retention. read more

So happy with my new glasses, the staff were so helpful and friendly. The test was better then any I l've had, with some impressive equipment. An a fantastic range of glasses to choose from. Can't recommend enough. read more

Fantastic opticians the best sight test I've ever had with all the latest machines, the choice of glasses was better than any other opticians I've visited. I would not rate them at all, my mother spent £150 pounds, is 70 years of age , the glasses were too heavy and made her ill - she took them back and to quote "what do you want me to do" - think that says it all or alternatively she could pay more money out of her pension!!! read more

I paid £64 for my glasses,this was OK.The sight test was OK in every way as well. NOW I WANT A REFUND!-Here is why: I also needed another reading pair.Because of cost I explained to the assistant that I would need to use the prescription they had provided to enable me to buy the reading pair more cheaply online-(I was OK with the distance pair for £64,did not want to cancel these)Despite having handed me the paper copy of my prescription, the assistant refused to tell me the measurement she had just taken of the distance between my pupils,(helpful when using online alternatives to the traditional Opticians).She also told me that this simple measurement was`their information`and `we don`t have to give it out`-But She would give me the measurement that She had just taken minutes ago if I PAID £75, SEVENTY FIVE POUNDS FOR ACCESS TO MY OWN INFORMATION! I am not well off as I am a pensioner. ONLINE ALTERNATIVES ARE MUCH CHEAPER!,and easy to find online. David Lennox. read more

HMMMM ... been a customer for over 20 years and have mixed feelings about this optician now unfortunately - it really does depend on which member of staff you get. Don't know whether they are on commission but it does feel now like it's about getting you to spend but if there is a problem, it really is hard work to get helpful advice. In fact, some of the staff are quite intimidating if all doesn't go according to plan. My husband will never go back there as he wasn't at all impressed with them (I defended them to the hilt) but now, and it's a shame after all this time (and hundreds - maybe £2,500 spent over the years ...) I will be looking to take my business elsewhere. I will say however, that the contact lens lady and the actual owner are very good and they do have absolutely beautiful frames ... just don't have anything other than average prescription/eyes and certainly don't expect any empathy! read more

awful, they don't tell you that in order to buy lenses from them you need to pay by direct debit £10 per month! That's for the privildge of buying their stock at a discounted price. The discounted price which they claim, is actually not cheaper than their competitors. What a SCAM. I forked out £20 for a contact lenses prescription and could not buy lenses fromthem because they wanted £120 per annum for the privilege to buy from them!? read more
