During my search for a guitar teacher, I knew that patience was of the required attributes. I can be a slow learner when it comes to honing new skills, and a ton of patience is needed during the learning process. I was also looking for someone who was technical, experienced, and versatile in their guitar practice and instruction.
My experience with Baton Rouge Guitar Lessons has been fantastic! Micah fosters an inviting, and comfortable learning environment for his students. In addition to the bi-weekly or weekly instruction, he also provides several online supplemental instruction videos on different aspects of guitar playing. These online videos are my favorite part of his program, because I'm able to review and/or watch things that I may have learned at a previous lesson but forgot. They are also great for refreshing an area of my guitar practice that may need work, and offer additional practice in other areas.
Micah is constantly pushing me past my comfort level as a player. I generally don't like to venture out and try new things, or limit myself because I think a song or certain riff/chord may be too far out of my technique range. Micah is always encouraging and supportive in regards to this. He is always recommending songs from different genres that I wouldn't have otherwise considered, and encourages me to venture out and learn the more complicated parts of songs.
If you want to learn guitar, definitely do it! You won't regret it. I've been taking lessons with Micah for 2 years now, and he really is an exceptional teacher, Micah is dedicated, attentive, supportive, and really pushes you to become the best guitar player you can be. I look forward to my lessons every week, and learn something new during every session. read more
