Similar to other cities across the country, Missoula has a shop where local artisans can present…read moretheir wares daily, without the constraints of a holiday or farmers' market situation. What makes this Artists' shop unique are the very cool and well-priced items that comprise the inventory. Sure--there are large statement pieces, but you will also find smaller, every-day art that makes a perfect gift or pick-me-up. Just today, I bought a beautiful, soft wrap scarf for $28...and I toyed with the notion of picking up the mustachio clutch purse for my sis. In trips past I have purchased everything from perpetual calendars (with local photos), a blue glass necklace (perfect for the 'something blue' requirement at my wedding), a small landscape oil painting, and a coppery sunflower stake for the garden. The continuously rotating selection makes it a perfect seasonable stop for gift-giving and just general perusal. The folks running the store during your visit may or may not be artisans themselves, but they are quite knowledgeable of the creative folks making the products. A favorite stop on any of our trips to Zootown.

They had what I needed, but it was thinner than the yarn used in the garment. The woman working that day was incredibly rude and all but chased me out of her store loudly saying that the yarn wouldn't work. She clearly didn't want to make a sale off of me that day. I'm a visibly middle-aged individual who's been knitting most of their life. My mum taught me a few things or two about how to modify my usage of yarns to suit a project if I can't find a perfect match. If that yarn ends up not working out, then that's on me and I'll find another use for it! The last time I was treated this rudely by a shopkeeper was when I was a teenager. In any event, if the owner is reading this, your yarn shop isn't the only one of its kind in town! I will be sure to tell all of my friends to never shop at your store again. This is one of two Wal Mart locations in Missoula. This is my preferred location to shop at,…read moreunfortunately it's not the closest. Regardless, I still find myself shopping here a lot. Just like any other Walmart, it is a supercenter. Here you can find everything from groceries, toiletries and clothing, to electronics, housewares, and toys. They also have a photo center and you can also purchase money orders if that is something you need. At the front of the store is also an optical center which I have never personally used. Their garden center is open year round and during the spring and summer months they sell a variety of different plants, soil, and gardening tools. I have no complaints at all about the cleanliness of the actual store. The aisles are neat and clutter free and the employees seem great about making that a priority. The restrooms on the other hand, are almost always dirty. I've used the restrooms at both the front and back of the store and they are consistently dirty. There are plenty of self checkout lanes, but they do end up closing most of them down the later it gets at night. This is the smaller Wal Mart store in town so their selection of items isn't always the greatest, but that's never usually an issue for me. I typically know what I want before I even walk in so that way I'm not in there too long. It's definitely a one-stop-shop for those in Missoula and the surrounding areas.
