I do find they are expensive. I ended up getting 3 small Mason type jars for $30 on sale. What I really wanted was a nice large candle but even on sale for $31 or $32 I think it is, I couldn't bring myself to spend that on a single candle. Though honestly, if I have the extra money some other time, I may get one anyway. You can beat the intense wonderful scents they offer. So if you have the money to spend, which extras like candles are a luxury to me since everything is so expensive these days, dont pass this place up as you walk through the mall. They are perfectly placed by the main entrance to catch you with the delightful scent of sugar cookie that they are known for, floating through the halls.

The scents and stories behind each candle are so unique and one can't help but affiliate scents with memories. They from what I last hear are currently more of an online and mobile candle making shop, but I hope they are able to come back and open up a brick & mortar again. If you're seeing this review check out their website and you too will appreciate the descriptions of each candle and have a solid understanding of what to expect. Wicks Nola is more than just candles though they have linen sprays, aromatherapy focused products, and more. I also would consider their bulk candle program if I had a moment that required buying gifts in bulk as they offer a steep discount once you buy a certain quantity.

I found their entire staff to be outstanding and I want to give a special thank you to Robert Adams. I was in Houma about 3 weeks ago just for the weekend visiting family. I went to Blooming Orchid before it closed to purchase a floral arrangement for my dad's mausoleum. While waiting on the arrangement to be completed, my truck unexpectedly stopped on me while I was few blocks away. I called the store and informed the staff about my unexpected situation. I was disappointed thinking that I would not be able to purchase or receive the arrangement to be able to place it on my dad's mausoleum. Robert volunteered to meet me. He arrived and waited with me while a tow truck driver arrived to pick up my truck. He drove me back to the store to allow me to purchase the arrangement. Robert then drove me to my dad's mausoleum and personally assisted me with securely placing the floral arrangement on my dad's mausoleum. He then drove me to my family's residence in Gray. It was above and beyond anything I would have expected, and I will forever remember and appreciate the service I received. Thank you, Robert and thanks to the entire staff. Blooming Orchid . . . you have a customer for life. Thanks! Lorin G.

I have seen these candles everywhere for my entire life and I had no idea! This shop is small, but as soon as you walk in you are inundated with the sweet smell of all of the candles they sell. They have a "scent bar" where you can sniff and smell all of the candles to your heart's content. I will say that I was pretty impressed by how strong the candles are and how "on the nose" the scents were. They have a cupcake scent that smells exactly like fresh bakes cupcakes. How do they even do that? The girl working was friendly enough and greeted us with a "hello". The candles are fairly well priced for the size and they seemed to be having some sales on the smaller jars, so that's a good deal if you are looking for some candles.
