Adam, one of the staff, ended up going through various scents with me as I was on a fruity fragrance hunt. I ended up going home with 10ml Sospiro Erba Pura Magica and then when I asked if they could think of any melon scents, Orlando (I think he is the owner) gave me a sample of Counterplay by Mind Games to smell. It was love at first sniff, but I know scents can change on me and some of them end up giving me a headache even if I love the smell (stupid trigeminal nerve irritation!). So, I waited and hoped. Unfortunately, about an hour later it turned on my skin. I was so bummed! Fast forward to today, I came in and Orlando and Emi were working. Emi was helping another costumer, and I knew the fragrances I wanted to smell. So, I went straight for Pacific Rock Moss which was actually what the other customer was testing too haha. I had loved it on paper the last time I was there, but didn't know how it would do in my skin. So, I tested it and ended up getting a 10ml of that. Then I went for Mind Games' Queening, but it was empty. I showed it to Orlando, and he got a new bottle for me to test. So kind! And oooh it smelled divine! I am hoping this doesn't turn on my skin like Counterplay, so far so good. Next, I tested Mind Games' Sissa on my other arm. It smells great too! I couldn't decide between them, so I got 10mls of both. I tested Electimus' Vesper Revierie on one ankle and Electimus' Astrum Nova on the other. These were two mango fragrances I had tried last time on paper, but not in skin. I'm still waiting to see how they dry. Lastly, I tested three BDK fragrances: Impadia on my left knee, Gris Charnel on my right, and 312 on the back of my right hand. I love each of them, but Impadia has Akigalawood which I usually get a headache from. I'm nervous that might happen, but so far I'm okay, maybe because it's on my knee. 312 smells amazing when first sprayed but then I went nose blind. I was considering getting a 10ml of it or even a bottle based on the top notes, but since I'm currently nose blind to it, I want to hold off and test another day when I don't have so many other fragrances on. Anywho, enough about my scent journey, I came here to make sure House of Dubai Orland Park and the staff get the recognition they deserve. I noticed they weren't on Yelp, so I added them. This store has a bunch of wonderful fragrances and the staff who work here are super helpful and not pushy. You can also get discounts on full bottles if you buy the full bottle after a travel. Employees at this location were friendly and helpful, and when the line got long they started checking out folks who were paying by card in another area to get things moving more quickly. One of the employees reminded me when I was looking around that their VIB sale was going to be coming up, which was helpful since I bought more sunscreen at that point. Parking is a struggle, at least on the weekends. There's limited parking on Lake Street and the parking lot gets filled really quick.
