Just wanted to give a quick update...this place still provides 5 star service and is always respectable of your time! I had to make a trip back into Bates last week to get the splash guard replaced on the passenger side after some late night driving antics a few months back (what happens in La Porte, stays in La Porte). Anyhoooo.... I called up Bates and brought my car in the same day so they could secure what was left of the original guard and order my parts. Never ever would I do business with this shop took my truck in for repair. It neededfront bumper replaced and door had dent so that needed repair done to. The paint didn't match at all the Fitment on the bumper was horrible they replaced my new headlight for one from the junkyard because of a clip in the back that was broken which i did because it's easier when changing bulb now I can't get them to replace it they giving me the run around I wouldn't take a Bicycle to get work done at this place. read more

I took my Toyota Tundra to get the catalytic converters replaced. They have terrible customer service from the receptionist to the towing company they use. When I got my truck back the engine light was on and I took it back three times. They told me the light would turn off after driving it around. The light never turned off. I took it back a fourth time just to argue with the receptionist, she told me "I am not the mechanic" so she couldn't give me clear answers. This place is not worth anyone's money. Horrible Service, horrible communication, half ass mechanic work. read more

Bates Collision Center was on point. From the moment I called to set up an appointment, until the day I picked up my finished vehicle, the staff were totally professional. Candy the receptionist was so sweet and very accommodating. I received up-to-date notices about my vehicle. The car was ready before the due date and I was very pleased with the service. Hopefully I do not have any more accidents, But if something unfortunate happens, I will take my car back to Bates collision Center. read more

Amazing service and honest people! If I could give them 6 stars I would. I live in downtown Houston and if my car needs work again I'm making the 30 minute drive again. DON'T DO IT!!! I uploaded a picture of the HORRIBLE work done on my car at Bates in Channelview. The work was amateurish and insulting. They said they "detailed" my car. By detail they mean vacuum the front floor boards only and put both the floor mats both on the passenger side. I guess they didn't know that there was more to the car. For this they wanted an extra $200.00. The customer service called to see if we were happy with our service but they really wasn't interest in hearing that we weren't. We were told the owner would call us about our complaints.... I guess they don't care that their work is less quality than a high school body shop. read more

I requested SMS updates and never received any. All updates came from me calling the center. This place kept my vehicle for over 2 months only for me to have to return it to a better collision center because Bates failed to repair my vehicle properly. read more

My husband has minor damage to his car so we looked around and found bates close to home seeing how we both work we called ahead of time to see if we needed and appointment for an estimate over the phone they stayed we didn't need one as long as we are there before 5 we thought great we will go. We got there at 4:57 and the lady said well you should have been here at 4:45 we don't take estimates after that. I specifically spoke with her over the phone and she told me anytime before 5 it was then 4:58 and I showed her my phone and she said well my clock says 5 so you can come back tomorrow or we can take pictures of the damage and give you an estimate. Like really you have time to take pictures but not give me a quote just a waste of time. She might as well say 445 her time of too read more

If I could rate ZERO stars I would definitely rate this place ZERO stars. This place has had my vehicle at their shop for over 3 MONTHS now!!! Nobody has ever called to update me on status or to let me know what's happening. I've had to call EVERYDAY for the past month, because I have had enough!! I have even asked to have my vehicle transferred but I've been told I would have to pay storage fees which I find RIDICULOUS considering I don't feel that they have put the effort to locate the parts for me. I've personally called a dealership to order the part that they need and been told they can order it and when I relay the message to the shop they claim to call them and give me a call back to let me know what they say. They don't call back. I have to be the one constantly calling and calling. IT IS VERY RIDICULOUS. It is pathetic that I have to do the work for them while they just sit there and pretend to call. I usually only take my Subaru WRX STi to the dealership to have work done on it, but I figured I'd go with Bates due to its location in regards to my place of residence. I couldn't have been more satisfied with the work that was done (I needed my rear bumper replaced due to an accident). From the simplicity of the entire process to the customer service, everything was excellent. They notified me when things changed (in dealing w/insurance company) and always kept me in the loop as far as the status of my car. Great customer service and great bodyshop. I found Bates as a referal through State Farm, and am super happy that I did. I was able to drop my car off on my lunch break, and pick up my rental in time to get back to the office.
