We heard that Baskin Robbin's has Dubai ice cream bars. I immediately headed that way. The lady at the counter was fine; nothing worth noting. The Dubai chocolate ice cream bar is $7.99 but worth every penny. It is absolutely delicious. From the creamy pistachio almond ice cream to the crispy kunafa coated in pistachio cream it was a decadent treat. Might even be better than the Dubai chocolate bar. It's a limited time item. I wish they'd have it on the permanent menu...well maybe not or I might find myself there too often. If you like the Dubai chocolate bar, head over to Baskin and try the ice cream bar. I think they do a good job and it's been a much better experience when I've come here, products are mediocre as ever but better than before, and service is better, ownership much better. I was super impressed with the customer service at this location! Both the manager and the two young ladies working the counter were more polite and accommodating than any other works I've encountered in a long time. I was looking to have an gender reveal ice cream cake made and they came through! For starters, they actually answered the phone! Terrible to say, but I called two DQ's several times over a course of a few days and not one answer.. Here I got immediate answers every time I called with a super friendly voice on the other end. When I went in to speak with the manger about what I wanted she was super helpful and accommodating. Then when she needed to reach me to communicate something she left me a voicemail (which I didn't even realize until later) and called me again the next day to make sure I got the message. It was important so I very much appreciated the follow through! Pickup was smooth and discreet (*gender reveal*) and again with a friendly face! The gender reveal is this morning, so I haven't actually seen the color but I just wanted to take a moment to commend this amazing experience I've had with the customer service here. Don't waste your calories and time! I see why people love Ben and Jerry's, Swirll, and Amy's ice cream.... Baskin Robbins sucks. The teens who worked there were nice but the ice cream was just so mediocre that it wasn't worth finishing. I had the mint chocolate chip and chocolate fudge. Both were not good. The mint chocolate chip was super hard and the chocolate fudge was really soft. Their flavors were just not good. My husband had the apple pie ice cream which he thought was too sickly sweet. I had mine on a waffle cone which are made fresh there (we watched them make some while we were there). The cone just tasted bad. I was sad that everything was so bad, but it was. If you are going to eat that many calories or if you just appreciate a good ice cream cone, head elsewhere! The awful music was blaring, making the whole experience that much worse! Other better options: Ben and Jerry's, Paciugo Gelato, & Swirll in Sugar Land Town Square. The Gelato place is the best and they know how to make some delicious tasting ice cream!! read more

Ice cream shop with no AC, interesting. I was trying to purchase the pre pack ice cream and I wanted to use my TMobil promo code. Guess what, the young lady said the machine was broken. Hmmm. Everything seems not to work in here. I FEEL this shop probably does not want to use the TMobil promo. If the machine is broken, they should find a back to let customer use the promo card. I ordered a banana split for $7.99 plus tax and the lady used a kiddie scoop for the ice cream , it has three tiny little balls of icecream, each just the size of the small plastic spoon they provide for you to eat it with. There has to be a negative number rating in these survey scales as that's what's most appropriate to describe our horrible experience in BR PC#338339 on 9970 Southwest Freeway Sugar Land TX store. It's manned by unsupervised kids who know zero about either excellence or providing great customer experience. We ordered 2 large milkshakes that are too watery (milk to ice cream ratio completely wrong!), it's an insult to call it milkshake and an insult to all milkshakes period. When I complained about it, the senior crew member argued they're just following the recipe which is 4 scoops of ice cream for large cups. "Scoop" is an arbitrary measurement so her scoop could be smaller than the scoop of another crew member. She added one scoop to my milkshake but that didn't change the watery consistency of the shake. You can actually call it "juice" instead of shake, they honestly taste like milk with sugar and bits of Reese's cup. Yes, that's how diluted it was. She kept arguing about their recipe and so I had to ask for a manager as we're not getting any resolution. She said there's no manager in the store and after a couple of more back and forth she said she'll call her manager to ask. Then she said she'll make a new one, so I just said to use the large cup ratio of ice cream but put in a small cup to reduce the amount of milk. Lo and behold, they gave me a small cup with two-scoop ratio of ice cream because they "misheard" me. Facepalm. These kids should be taught active listening skills, problem solving and decision-making skills on top of customer service skills. Now, this is not the worst part. The other crew member (who's not wearing a name tag so I'll just describe her as the white girl since they're all of different descent) wasn't too subtle with her body language. Every time I speak, her nonverbal gestures show she's appalled as if rolling her eyes at me and she looks at the other team members to nonverbally communicate her disapproval of what I was saying. I asked her if she was making faces which of course she denied and said: "no, I wasn't making faces, I was just looking around." Seriously? "Looking around"? SMHL. This young girl should look for a job elsewhere that doesn't deal with customers. If companies are looking for someone who's argumentative and won't take criticisms constructively, she's definitely qualified. P.S. They used to close on $1.50 scoop special days then later on they would offer an alternative special and lie about the the Houston area being excluded from the offer. Drive out to any other location and find that's a lie. I'm not a fan of liars. I understand you are a franchise and have to make your dough but don't lie when you don't want to honor a national promotion. It's shady business. Along with my review I submitted a complaint to Baskin Robbins online. Within hours Nick, the new franchisee contacted me and apologized for my bad experience and offered to make it right. I decided to take Nick up on this offer and stopped in on my way home after work. Nick made me a shake and we had a great discussion.. Nick is the new franchisee of this location and is working on getting the store back in shape since the last franchisee neglected the place. Best wishes to you Nick and I will definitely be back! When we went there and placed our order, the order taker rung up the order wrongly. After briefly protesting, we succumbed, and asked for a refund of the products that not already delivered. They stated that they do not do refunds. Our question to her was how do you need to process us a refund, when you have not yet delivered the product yet. She stated that management had instructed them to collect payment first. We asked for contact information for management, to which the cashier stated we we're not privileged to. You would think with everything going on that they would attempt to do more for the customer than to do less. You cannot order on line, and when I tried to order a custom polar pizza for my grandson's birthday, they told me they do not take orders on the phone. They offer free delivery for orders above $15, but the prices are higher than when you go in to the store, so it is not free. Overall, not a strategy for success. I am moving my ice cream business to the BR on Highway 6 that took my polar pizza order over the phone, and provided me with great service. read more

It looks like there's a new owner since my last review. The ice cream is still excellent. My only gripe is that the "Icing on the Cake" flavor is only available as a take home quart, but you know what? That means I can take my time at home enjoying my ice cream. Not only do we stop in for cones and cups from time to time, but we also had two of their cupcake shaped birthday cakes for our daughter's recent party. Everyone was super happy and loved it. They couldn't get enough. Tasty and different than the run-of-the-mill batter based cakes with the usually too-sweet icing. This ice cream cake hit the spot on a rather warm (80 degree) afternoon. Great crew here with excellent customer service skills. They're always smiling and willing to make your day better with a kind word and tasty treat. Sadly I had a really bad experience on 03/31/18 @ 2:00 pm. I was getting my hair done next door & sent my son over to get us both ice cream. I am allergic to MANY things & have to be careful of what I eat. I asked my son to get me a sorbet (didn't care which) & to make sure there was no chocolate or peanuts in it. My son bought it & clearly asked the girl about the chocolate & peanuts. The girl responded that there were no peanuts or chocolate in it. He came back with a watermelon splash sorbet whose seeds looked like they were made from chocolate. It is hard to tell if this is the case because the sweetness of the watermelon masks the flavor of the chocolate, so I sent him back to explain the seriousness of the situation & to exchange for another flavor, her reply "I am certain, no chocolate, but if you want to PURCHASE another kind you can". I decided to look up the recipe & wouldn't you know it, yes chocolate. So i went over & showed her the recipe on their own website. Her reply "It is not my problem" I asked to speak with the manager, but was told there was no manager. I asked for her name and she said i didn't need her name, proceeded to give me her back. I'm here at the store and there is this older lady just staring at the customers and is very VERY rude to her coworkers. One of the younger coworkers asked her to get her something and said please and the older lady very rudely told her not to tell her what to do. The lady is making me uncomfortable to sit in the store. She didn't even say Hi or smile when walking in. She is a very rude lady and makes me not want to come anymore. She needs to be fire on how she talks to her coworkers. read more
