Sometimes you just gotta bypass the bourgie BS and go with the classic. I haven't been here in YEARS, but am so glad we ended up here. To my surprise, there were lots of contemporary creative flavors (mango, pineapple/coconut, beach day), large portions and great prices. Baskin Robbins is such a glutinous pleasure once in a blue moon. I know it's a chain, but something about their ice cream just shoots me straight back to childhood. I had a serious craving for a shake on a Monday night and some other local mainstays were closed. This Baskin is super close to me, so I headed over. The parking lot is pretty atrocious, so I'd be hesitant to visit at a time that may be busy (though honestly it's close enough to walk -- I should be less lazy). There's no drive thru option either. I ordered a medium Oreo cookies and cream shake and it didn't take long to prepare. It was sooo good, I drank the whole thing in one sitting even though it was pretty big. Thanks to TMobile Tuesdays I was inspired to walk into Baskin Robbins to take advantage of a $2 off coupon. Because I am Vegan, I am always looking for places that provide options that are dairy free and they had one!! They had a chocolate chip cookie dough vegan dairy free ice cream and it tasted like a million bucks to me. I dont miss ice cream because of flavors like this. It allowed me to still enjoy the ice cream I love just without the dairy! I chose 2 scoops in a cup and for 3 people only paid $12 for three cups. The only downside about BR is the fact that they only have one vegan option. With 41 flavors, there should atleast be 5-10 dairy free options. I think I can speak for all vegans by saying....Work on that Baskins! Lol. read more

Baskin Robbins is a good go-to for ice cream, and their selection of flavors is definitely something to take note of. Came here twice with my lady friend for ice cream. The parking is much easier now thanks to the newly repainted spaces. The offerings are typical Baskin Robbins fare (all great-tasting), and the prices are what you'd expect. They used to not accept RetailMeNot coupons, though they were kind enough to resolve that issue and are now accepting them, making BR both delicious AND affordable. To top it off, the staff members are pleasant and quick to help customers when they walk in the door. While there are many ice cream establishments around town, this place will satisfy your sweet tooth in a pinch. This is one of my favorite dessert spots in Richmond. Boy, HOW does time fly by... Even though I have spent almost 25 years from Richmond, I have been up and down Broad St. so many times, I do not think I have enough fingers and Toes to count. I have passed this particular Baskin Robbins many many times, so the other day I decided to stop as I LOVE their Ice Cream. I saw something new and it was the Carmel Turtle Truffle. I just got the ONE scoop, and too my much amazement, I was NOT disappointed. The young man working behind the counter told me how this is one of the favorites, and I can see why. I am giving this particular Baskin Robbins 5 Stars, because NOT only was the young man behind the country extremely polite, he also took out the time to tell me something about this particular Baskin Robbins. He told me how this Baskin Robbins has been there for 40 years! I was shocked, to say the least as I had NO idea they have been there that long. Basking Robbins now have a third Owner, who has been running it for a very long time. I feel any Restaurant of any kind who has been in ONE place for 40 years, should earn my praise as well as yours as well... They are doing something right. Per Governor's guidelines it's required to wear a mask unless you have a health issue or eating. Also they can't ask if you have a health condition. We were denied service because of no mask even though we were going to be eating and told to leave. A health condition that I have doesn't require me to have one on. I've frequented this location over 20 years now. It's not far from Willow Lawn. This location is small so it can get crowded if a lot of people come at the same time. The staff are friendly and do well handling the small crowds. This location accepts Apple Pay. The do have an app, which has various deals and discounts. Not sure why people still go to Baskin Robbins. Cold Stone has better ice cream. Even Ben & Jerry's and Talenti beat BR. Their pistachio ice cream is made with almonds... and the parking lot at this location has been a horror for years; mostly because of the overflow from CarPool. As for the service, I was there the other night and had to wait (not for other customers) but for the clerk to finish two personal phone calls. I could have gone to the grocery store and picked up a pint of higher quality ice cream in the time I waited. This location has changed owners twice in the past decade. Awesome Baskin Robbins location. Fresh ice cream and biggest challenge is deciding on which flavor (or two). Plentiful sundaes and the chopped almonds with hot fudge are the perfect topping. Always friendly (Peggy, Christy, Marc..) with generous scoops and willingness to hunt for a flavor in the freezer. Also great deals on the BR app. Plenty of parking (although turn in is easy to pass on Broad Street if you're not careful). My favorite BR location by far. True story, people take a detour on I 95 to swing by this BR location when heading to DC/MD to get their BR fix. Glad its close by & look forward to next months flavor. AWESOME! Seriously great options, plus the best ice cream cakes around! Super convenient location on W. Broad near Willow Lawn and across from Target. I love to stop here when I get my car washed next door. There is plenty of parking, a few spots right next to the store, and a bunch behind. I actually stayed in the car when my friend ran inside to pick up two pre-packaged quarts of ice cream. There were several customers inside to get ice cream, but she didn't have to wait long to check out with the items she picked out. While not artisanal or local like some of the more popular ice cream/yogurt places around Richmond Baskin Robbins will forever have a special place in my heart. Ever since I was a little girl I've loved one flavor at BR and hardly ever do I deviate from that path. Mint Chocolate Chip. (Sometimes with rainbow sprinkles if I want a touch of nostalgia.) I can still remember 20+ years later my grandfather taking me into town while he ran his errands and we'd stop at BR. One scoop with rainbow sprinkles please and my taste buds would dance! As for the location, I've only sat in to eat my ice cream one time so I'm not able to really comment on the employees working here. To my memory some have been more enthusiastic than others but when I'm picking up a quart to go I'm sorry to say I'm not paying much attention. Their pre-packed freezer is well stocked 9 out of 10 times. I'll usually pick up 2 quarts since you get a discount and when I'm on my MCC kick might as well "go big or go home" as they say. Every year I get to enjoy a ice cream cake! I look forward to this, because I like the one with only vanilla ice cream and NO chocolate ice cream. For the last for 5-6 years we had to special order the cake because in the stores they sell the chocolate and a vanilla with the countries. I like my cake tons of crunchies my husband this year ordered it from Baskin-Robbins and they told her how he wanted it. When we got the cake it had chocolate on it I called the lady that answer the phone was nice and said she would have someone call me about it the next day. The owner called me the next day to let me know the worker have been working there for years if she knows to tell me that they can't get them that way, and that was basically it. Not even trying to talk to her employee to find out how the conversation went. I called corporate and talk to them and they said that you can order it however you want to have it not sure why the store could not. And I remembered as I was the filing the complaint that we had done this before with the same company in the beginning when they first stopped making in the stores. And I remember her being rude then as well.
