My pregnant girlfriend & I walked in @ 8:58pm (they close @ 9) as soon as we walk in, they let us know that they close in 2 minutes, not a hello or anything. the workers proceed to ask us what we want & we decided on a banana split. they rush us to complete our order. then another lady walks in & they greet her, not mentioning that they close soon. WHY tell us you close @ 9 but not the 2 other people that walk in AFTER us? I walk back in to let them know they are wrong for telling JUST US that they close soon. I came here for a birthday scoop via their app, so let's get into it.. Ambiance - This is an older location that has a small seating area. It's a little dated, but I don't choose ice cream shops based off decor so I don't really care. It gives off a clean enough vibe that I don't feel like I'm going to get sick by dining here. Food - It's ice cream. I love ice cream. The flavor I had was delicious, so no complaints here. Since this was a free scoop, I didn't have to consider the value for the money but if I were paying I would likely feel a little underwhelmed. Service - The two ladies working there were very friendly and nice. Both smiling, it was probably the most memorable part of my quick trip in. Overall, I likely wouldn't come here very often if I were paying for a scoop of ice cream. Not because of the decor or service, but just because of the value for the money. On this particular trip, the service was very good which made for a good experience so I'll give them 4 stars for the service and taste alone. Baskin Robbins should really start looking at the value one gets when coming into the shop because $5 for one scoop of ice cream is pretty bananas. read more

They didn't refund me or cancel my order; and instead of calling me to tell me they couldn't make my order they wasted my time and made me drive all the way there to get nothing with no refund. Ice Cream is great but prices keep climbing like everything else, pricing themselves out of business. Cheaper to go to the store, buy the ice crean and toppings and have ice cream a few time for the money. We were at Baskin Robbins this evening and it appears the store is catering to younger people with loud crappy music. If you only want younger people to come in, then this music is running me out. Been going there for over 40 years, but I think tonight was my last time. 2 young girls working there probably don't realize their jobs depend on all groups of people buying the ice cream and they're running off customers. One day when their hours get cut due to business slows, they'll be surprised it was their fault! Things haven't changed, we went back there tonight irritating one of the young ladies because we arrived 15 minutes before closing time. She proceeded to tell us that there are several things that weren't available, which was fine with us. Maybe I'm wrong but as a business, you would think you would have everything available to your customers during your open hours and wash and clean up after closing. I asked this particular girl as we were leaving if they were closing early and she said no and I said oh I thought maybe you were by your attitude you were giving off as we entered the store and was placing our order. We went into the store to order a Reese's Polar Pizza as described on their website. I had a free cake certificate for up to $40. I called ahead of time and asked if this could be ordered over the phone or online and was told no, because of the certificate. So we went to the store, told them we wanted the Reese's Polar Pizza, we were told but that is only $26.99 so you can get a 1/2 sheet cake and proceeded to prepare the order as a 1/2 sheet cake. This is not what we asked for or wanted. I did not care that the certificate was for up to $40 and I would be wasting the remaining portion of the certificate, I wanted the Reese's Polar Pizza. According to their website this is: "A chocolate chip cookie crust with Peanut Butter 'n Chocolate Ice Cream, topped with REESE'S® Peanut Butter Cup pieces and drizzled with REESE'S® peanut butter sauce and fudge topping." We received a brownie crust with vanilla ice cream, topped with Reese's peanut butter cup pieces and drizzled with Reese's peanut butter sauce and fudge topping. I was also told I would get a phone call or text when it was ready for pickup, since this was a 24-48 hour window before it would be ready. I called the store 25 hours after to find out if it was ready for pickup. The first call I had to explain what I was asking and the girl who answered the phone said she did not deal with cakes, I said I was asking to see if my order was ready, that I was not ordering a cake. She said oh okay, hold on and proceeded to hang up the phone. I called back a second time, said that I had been hung up on and was checking on my order. She then proceeded to hang up on me again. I called a third and fourth time to only get their voice mail. I finally called a fifth time and told the girl do not hang up on me and I would like to speak to a manager. I was told that the manager was not there and there was only two of them working. I then explained again, that I was checking to see if my order was ready for pickup and that the person that I spoke to twice previously had hung up on me. She finally said, she was the one who took the order the previous evening and that it was ready for pickup. This was for my grandson's birthday and he really wanted the chocolate peanut butter ice cream which we did not receive. The service is not great in there and they obviously do not listen or care what their customers ask for. I guess they are only capable of scooping ice cream and not much else. read more

Kinda disappointed. I ordered 2 oreo shake with extra oreo crumble blended in both, one medium one large. As I wait for the order I hear the worker try to blend the shakes and the blenders didn't sound right, other workers also said that their blender isn't working. So after a while we ate brought to the check out where there is a small shake and a large that isn't even filled up. They didn't tell us that they didn't have medium cups until we were gonna pay. After that we soon discovered that our drinks were insanely watered down with milk, and blended poorly. It's really disappointing when an ice cream shop can't produce a milkshake properly. read more

It's so disappointing when childhood places you enjoyed go downhill. And for silly things like customer service which costs them nothing. I was at BR recently and the 2 ladies didn't have gloves on. They both scooped out ice cream with their bare hands and would then take cash and credit cards! No gloves and didn't wash their hands! Why do people buy businesses and then run them to the ground?! Service & quality are about the same. The app doesn't have coupons (I guess they don't want to scan your phone & potentially spread the COVID-19 virus) & you can't eat your ice cream in the store & only 2 customers allowed inside the store at a time when its 140°F outside. Still 4 out of 5 stars isn't bad. Many other restaurants are open now for dine in so I guess they will open for dine in soon? If I could give zero stars o would do so. I have lived in this neighborhood my entire life---have always gone to this BR. Never have I had such a bad experience as we did tonight. First they were OUT of mint chocolate chip.....and appeared to be out of many more flavors. I got a two scoop sundae. I don't like hot fudge & always order Marshmallow cream topping, with whipped cream nuts & extra cherries, on top of my Mint chip & Rocky Road. So no mint chip--ok, then.... barely a tablespoon of marshmallow cream, zero whipped cream So many nuts they covered my ice cream completely---and over whelmed the flavors. And a half a cherry. My hubby likes hot fudge. They had both his ice cream flavors, but he watched them scoop out clumps of hot fudge, no pumping it out (for anyone not familiar that means it was cold) Barely any whipped cream & nuts on his and the cherry looked even smaller than mine. I don't know if the Brogan family still owns this BR.....but I noticed the last time that something was different & it has been going down hill for a while. My husband picked up our sundaes to go, as I was dealing with a strained back at home, or I would have had the servers remake everything. According to him, the store was dirty, floor sticky, tables not cleaned & the people behind the counter should have had some type of supervision because they had not been trained enough to provide the service this neighborhood BR is known to have. Ok so a family member of mine has a health condition that prevents her from wearing a face covering. Per the California guidlines masks are a guidline with exceptions for people with disabilities. Mask do not stop or prevent the spread of covid 19 per my wifes Doctor and many other health experts. How ever it is unhealthy to wear masks in general. Recirculation of air lowers oxygen saturation in the blood. The mask is a warm dark place. A perfect breeding ground for bacteria. My gosh people don't any of you remember high school biology where you put a peatreedish in a closet. My wife carries documentation from the State of California witch states she is exempt. HIPPA protects and prevents the asking of said health condition. It is illegal to discriminate based on health or disability. ADA Americans with Dissabilitie Act was created to protect people from discrimination. Hospitals cant refuse people with HIV. America got over that phobia. Now were discriminating against people that cant wear masks who are not sick. Anyways the employees here sated they wouldn't serve us citing State Law. When asked for the law they could not provide it. When ever you post a sign stating something is illigal such as no parking, no loitering, tresspassing etc you have to put the authority under it. You just cant say it's by order of the King of California. Go somewhere else. Lathrop will let you in with a preexisting health condition. read more

Another chain establishment that lacks customer service training. First visit, I was looking for a particular flavor and bald guy says "don't have it". No problem. Second visit, same bald guy is helping two customers while unkempt woman paces other side of parlor huffin and puffin obviously too irritated or too busy to help customers. Bald guy says "be right with you"................waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, bald guy makes three milkshakes, lady comes over and rings them up while bald guy cleans blender and appears to pour the remaining milkshake into a cup and then proceeds to the back. New customer walks in and woman offers to help that person! Are you kidding me? Did I sprinkle my invisible fairy dust on me? Did the Bald guy get vaporized when he stepped through the back door? Poor customer service. I went in this evening thinking I was going to enjoy a ice cream with my boyfriend turns out not. I only order one ice cream from here ALWAYS and it's mint chocolate chip, I knew from the color it didn't look right, well I got it anyway (benefit of the doubt) and paid $6 for a sundae. I walked out took one bite and it tastes very bland and not what I expected. I walked back in and ask for another ice cream flavor because I couldnt stand the taste, & the worker (mind you there's 3 workers and 1 manager hiding in the corner the whole time) said if you knew from the color you should of had a sample that we offer free. Then I had another worker stepped in and said that it's the same flavor that nothing has changed aside from the color & I replied I know what this ice cream taste like that's why I get it. So mind you I'm basically arguing with the worker about a "policy" that would get them in trouble if a customer didn't like what they bought that's why I couldn't replace it without paying & after 10 minutes of arguing with the worker she points to a small sign that says no artificial flavors anymore on the ice cream due to the color change. All the manager (who didn't bother stepping up) said he'll charge me half price. Why would you pay additional $$ for somthing that wasn't right the first time? All the worker could refer me to was free samples that they offer. So I walked out. #1 thing with working with customers daily is that the customer is always right. I've never been to a place and not been accommodated for somthing that wasn't pleasing & the fact I had to pay for somthing else without even offering my money back. We were coming into town for my Mom's birthday and wanted to pick up an ice cream cake, so I Yelped Baskin Robbins and found two of them in Manteca. While S. Main was closer to my destination, they didn't answer the phone after 15 rings on a Sunday, so I called the N. Main store and was glad I did! Picked up the phone on ring number 2, were courteous and professional and said they had plenty of cakes in stock. When we got there and went over to the freezer with the cakes, we were immediately helped by a staff member who explained all the cakes, how many people they fed, the flavors (which we got to sample) and the pricing. They will also write a message on the cake for you. We bought our cake and were quickly back on our way to Mom's house. Excellent customer service and the place was crowded with happy customers! The new girl had long dark nails. And she grabs my waffle cone bare hands. So I asked, arent you supposed t o have paper at the end of the cone? She looks at the manager with big eyes. I guessed shocked I asked a BASIC food service protocol??? She grabs another cone from somewhere. I was expecting that she and Manger would do the necessary food health protocols in handling food. I did not checked in what manner she got it. Ok..on the second scoop, cone breaks..she throws it away. This time I see her grabbing my cone with her bare hands again! I call the attention of manager. I asked her, you are a food service facility. Are you not supposed to wear gloves? She BOLDLY SAYS NO! She was cleaning the sink and counter before she helped me! I gueesed I was frustrated by now. Big shout out to Maggie, cake decorator at this North Main store. She did an outstanding custom cake for my son's celebration for his acceptance into UC Berkeley. The effort she put in to make this cake extra special was touching. She created the Cal Bear Paw logo and the school colors were just right. It was spectacular. My son was very excited. I ordered and paid for a cake online to be picked up on 4/14/19 at 11 am. I got there a few minutes early and they were still closed. No problems, I will wait. The girl came up to unlock door and I said good morning to her which she ignored and walked in. I then went in and she snapped that she needed a few minutes. Once again I told her no problems, I was just here to pick up a cake. She asked me the name I and told her. She then got my cake, put it in a box, pushed it to me to where it slid across the counter and snipped out "have a good day " and turned around and walked away. What a total b*itch. I hope she tells her boss to not put her opening shift anymore cause she def was super grumpy to be opening the store. It's a good thing the cake was already paid for otherwise I'm sure I would have needed to wait for my head to grow back after she bit it off before I could pay her. I've went in once before & got two sundae's & they charged me 'extra' for hot fudge/caramel....isn't that what is supposed to go on a 'sundae', the picture's right up there on the board?! This time I got one sundae with two scoops & another scoop of ice cream in the waffle, they have an advertisement if you buy two scoops you get a waffle cone, it doesn't have any kind of 'not included' on it; so when I explained to the guy that I'm buying 3 scoops of ice cream he said, "okay". Then when he went to ring me up, he says that the computer doesn't let him discount the waffle cone, apparently it is only for ice cream, not sundae's. Wouldn't you think to have good customer service & keep them coming back you'd go out of your way to give your customer the discount anyways, especially since before scooping the ice cream in the waffle we discussed the logistics of buying the three scoops, & he agreed....right?! And on top of that bad service, he put about three slices of banana of the banana royal sundae on the frigging bottom of the cup!
