Will not patronize this location again. My husband just went to pickup our order that was placed a couple of days ago. We received a confirmation that it would be ready this morning. When he arrived, he was told that they do not do custom cakes. Yes, the website did not have a option for a custom decorated cake, but did have an option for a custom cake in a box. We ordered that option online through the Grand Terrace location. She kept giving him a hard time but then said it would cost more than what we paid. After back and fourth we were given a pre-made cake in a box. If you do not accept these requests, then get with corporate to get that option removed from online ordering for you location. Came here with my friend the day after her birthday! We ate lunch across the street at Miguel's Jr and we kept eye-balling this place. So we figured we drop by to continue her celebration! The young dude at the counter was really nice and patient while taking our order and serving us! The store was so clean inside and outside. Now the best part, I had a double scoop waffle cone with Reese's Peanut Butter and Oreo Coffee Ice Creams. Wow, this was such a cool and refreshing treat on a super hot day over 100! They have some indoor seating so that's where we enjoyed. They also have two outdoor tables with Umbrellas if you want to roast outside lol. My friend got the same 2 ice creams, but in a cup. My family and I visit this location at least 2-3 times a week and have never had any issues with the younger staff they are welcoming and friendly. This evening while my daughter and I were enjoying our ice cream " in the lobby " we were told by Nawazish "lobby is closed" pretty much get up and go out ... mind you it is 8:20 pm. The door hours say 9 pm closure. I find that poor customer service and communication to the public. If there are different hours for " lobby" hours Those need to be displayed for the public to see. My family and I will not be coming to this location spending 45-50$ every week is not worth it here for this type of service. Besides, afters ice cream by UCR has friendly staff all around. The cashier was really helpful and happy. He started to assist me as soon as I stepped in the shop. There were two non dairy flavors a sorbet or cookies and cream . I went against my usual and selected the sorbet. Of course the employee offered me samples to help aid in my decision. I loved the sorbet . It was light and refreshing . On Saturday, September 13, I placed an online order for a Polar Pizza Ice Cream treat for pickup on Sunday, September 14. On Sunday I went to pick up my order & I asked my teenage son to grab it for me. When he returned to the car, he informed me that a staff member had told him to cancel the order because it wasn't ready. Curious about the situation, I got out to speak with her. She claimed to have no record of my order and blamed her son for its unprepared status. Feeling confused, I asked, "What does your son have to do with my order not being ready, and how will you resolve this?" Her response was rude, insisting that I should cancel my order. I explained that this was impossible since it was non-refundable online and there was no option to cancel. She then incorrectly stated that I had placed the order on the same day. I showed her the order date, confirming it was placed on Saturday the 13th. She also mentioned something about it not going through the online system. However, that shouldn't be my concern; it's the store's responsibility to address issues with Baskin-Robbins. With all due respect, it was a bit challenging to understand her. She then informed me that there would be a 30-minute wait and noted that only four flavors were available for the Polar Pizza. At first, I was unsure if she was referring to the crust, as she mentioned a lack of cookies, which left me confused about whether she meant the ice cream or the crust. She told me it was a 30-minute wait. After she prepared my order, she told me that this would be the last time she would do this, which baffled me since she had initially claimed I placed the order on the same day, despite me showing her the online order from the app during our first conversation. I expressed that it wasn't my fault as a customer for placing an order and that she should not place the blame on me when the store needed to resolve this issue on their end. Just popping in to report on a new family owned business in the neighborhood (yes, privately owned franchise). I feel our community is aware and support those who support us so, this is my effort to do so. My wife and I saw that the location was finally open and decided to stop in(12/27). We were quickly greeted by their employee who offered samples and suggestions on what's good (I'm a Midwest guy who didn't have BR growing up). Some google reviews mentioned that the location was dirty and out of ice cream, but the place was the most modern (and clean) location my wife has been in. And if you understand anything about opening a business there is some time required to forecast demand and inventory flow. Regardless, everything was better than expected when walking in. After selections were made, a gentleman who was homeless quietly walked in and got in line. I said hello and offered to purchase his ice cream for him. As we mentioned it to the employee (Omar) he responded, it was his Father's policy to help people in need and that the gentleman was covered. Which is how we learned that this is not just a corporate location, but a Family owned operation. As a new business, we were deeply moved by this small act of kindness. This really says something about how this business is ran and how the owner cares for all people alike. This is the type of business my family want in our community so I'm here to pass the experience along in effort to keep their family business here.
