Ok, so I found this place by a complete accident. I was getting so frustrated with the options on gift baskets. I thought I'd make it myself but that was just ridiculous. I work crazy hours and I really don't need something else to do. I'm googling through the "options" and I see the "near you" map and saw Basketworks. Now we're talking! You know, you get blinded by the ads when you search and you miss the local guys. Well, I found some great options. Not exactly what I wanted, but really nice stuff. I called to be sure they could get it to me on time. Lise (hope I spelled it right) was very nice. She was sick and still committed to get it to me tomorrow. Really nice. You don't find that often. I'll attach photos when I get them. Just let me call out that I'm getting a Housewarming basket. I want to call that out because they are not easy to find. Not decent ones anyway. If I have one criticism, it's minor, but the traditional housewarming gift is bread, salt and wine. Amazon has some things that kind of would work in a basket but not really. It would be nice if Basketworks could create something around that theme. What they have though is better than everyone else by far. I'm not a traditionalist by nature, but it's said to bring good luck and if you've ever bought a house, you know, you need all the luck you can get. read more

I wish I knew more people in Chicago to bestow gift baskets! The service and individual attention were outstanding. I had waited until the night before my son's birthday to find a delivery service to send him a gift. I selected a Chicago-themed basket (he just moved there & is super into it), went to complete the order, & doh! Slight website malfunction kept me from placing the after-hours online order. I called the next morning, aware that I was now requesting a same-day delivery they didn't guarantee, but (Lise I think it was?) was so eager to make his birthday great she got the basket to him anyway. Moreover, she told me on the phone they were out of one candy item in the advertised basket & asked what I'd like to replace it. I said he wouldn't miss the candy, that he's a bit of a health nut anyway--so she added health nuts! All sorts of dried fruit & healthy trail mix were now in the basket & my son ate it all immediately! (Seriously, he was chewing when he called to thank me for the basket.) I had also mentioned tea would be better than coffee, as he lives in a dorm & doesn't have a coffee maker; he was so excited to find an on-the-mug pour-over brewer in his basket! I have twin grandchildren (a boy and a girl) who live in the USA. I live in England. The children have a birthday just after Christmas, which can mean it is not given the recognition it deserves. In 2015 I was lucky enough to come across Basket Works when searching the internet and Lise was very helpful. I left it to her discretion to select suitable contents for the children's baskets; she and her team had obviously chosen wisely because the individualized packages they sent were very well received. I used the firm again for presents in 2016. Once again, Lise got things right. The packages were delivered at the right time and the children were delighted with the choices this firm had made. The family is moving soon to another part of the US but, having discussed this with Lise, I will continue to use Basket Works as the provider of their presents. read more

Lise and her team performed over and above expectations with our order. We had 40 baskets to prepare, each with slightly different contents. Lise kept in constant contact to ensure what we provided our meeting delegates reflected exactly what we wanted. Not only did she include a variety of promotional items from our office, but also suggested some fabulous Chicago branded items to treat the team. She even had ribbon printed with our logo! The final basket were incredible. We couldn't have been more thrilled. And - after delivering them to the Omni Chicago, they added her to their preferred supplier list! I sent a Chicago themed basket, which I chose from their website and even when ordering the personalized ribbon, it was able to be delivered via same day courtier. Another time, we hosted a virtual bridal shower and baskets were sent to the attendees to enjoy during the shower. The baskets had bundt cakes amongst other things in them and required ice packs. Lise worked with us to create something lovely. The baskets were shipped all over the country via FedEx and all of them arrived tightly wrapped, looking beautiful and not a thing out of place. The basket included all her favorite things -- cookies, cheese, chocolate, other yummy snacks and a nice quality Rose and Chardonnay. Mom enjoyed many days of selecting different nibbles to enjoy. I found them through a google search because I wanted to support local and independent merchants and this company had very good reviews. The baskets are beautifully put together, much classier than the national merchants and the products in the baskets much better quality.
