My goal was having a bedroom set built with an English theme, and came with photos as examples. Bret promised rough sketches and accepted the project. What emerged was a well thought out design, given these items are not mass produced by the hundreds. I knew the quality of workmanship would be present, but did not know what the shop was capable of in terms of intricacy. If you have a specific blueprint professionally drafted for a wall unit, mantle or furniture, I'm confident in saying Bret will honestly say if the shop can produce the outcome at their expectations for quality. If you need assistance with design, Bret understands customers conceptual ideas and how it can translate into finished product. My confidence in the shop was confirmed as you can see, by the beautiful pieces created! I have a special pride in knowing my furniture was produced locally here in San Diego. Upon delivery, Raymond explained to me how the details were executed on the CNC machine, and which elements were finished by hand. Also Bret's Son Evan worked the drawer alignment, and each drawer finished to exacting standards. I could not be more pleased with the results, and plan to enjoy my furniture for many years!

Had an excellent experience with Made Lumber. When I came in to look they had a nice selection of…read moreslabs and were way more reasonably priced than a lot of other places I'd checked. In particular, they had some beautiful walnut slabs. I wanted to create a coffee table, and I found the perfect slab, a figured maple. Nate offered to finish it for me, which was perfect since I wouldn't have done it justice myself. He also talked me out of staining it, which was absolutely the right call. Honestly, looking at it now I can't believe I ever considered it. It came out so beautiful, I can't help but to keep staring at it. It's gorgeous, like a work of art. The pictures really do not do it justice. It's going to look amazing in my new living room. I could not be happier with my experience and the finished product. Highly recommend Made Lumber!

I work for a design company, and we sourced a large walnut slab here for a client of ours to be…read moremade into a dining table. We contacted Made Lumber and thought everything was going smoothly, until our fabricator noticed after the slab was planed that it was in fact warped at one end. We investigated for a long time trying to figure out the cause- did our fabricator mess up? Did the wood have too much moisture in it? Was it planed incorrectly? After talking with our fabricator, Made Lumber, and the planer, we found out that the slab was originally warped, or had a "twist" to it, and had left Made Lumber that way. They even had a photo of it on its way to our fabricator (which was sent later), and you can clearly see the warp. Before it was planed, Made Lumber recommended us to a planer they use often who had a CNC, but our slab was too big for this machine, so instead they recommended another place that had a wide belt sander that would fit our slab. There was no mention that the slab had a twist this entire time. We took it to the place with the wide belt sander and from there it went to our fabricator, who noticed the warp. Now, Made Lumber refuses to reimburse us in any way or take any sort of responsibility for the warp, or "twist". First they blamed the wide belt sander they recommended, saying it wasn't planed correctly. Then, they said it's our fault because we didn't use the CNC (which wouldn't fit our slab) because this apparently "would have taken out the twist," although other carpenters have begged to differ on this point. If Made Lumber knew our slab had a twist (which they did), and thought that only a CNC would have gotten it out (debatable), then it would have been honorable for them to mention before we purchased it and say "hey, this slab has a twist, and the wide belt sander that we recommended won't get this twist out" but they didn't. We now are down $6000 on a slab that can't be used for our client, and it can't be re-planed because it would be too thin. Needless to say, we will not be sourcing from them or recommending them.

I would not recommend. Yes they give you store credit. That's the up part. The down part is that…read morethey want to give you what they have on floor. That's where they use the I'll give you a good deal at the end of your purchase thing. I had gotten a thrumble (bunk beds with a 3rd bed at the bottom(floor). The material is so bad. It's been 8 months and it seems as if I was donated the bed previously used. The bed on the bottom is made with cheap wood it braked so easily. Like cardboard type. The top bunk bed on the inside had scratches but like chipped off. So I didn't see that. They don't ask if you want the protectors they throw them in for each mattress and they don't even fit they are huge. The point is the wood is so cheap and the beds are about 1,300. I got the insurance and because we got a storage unit I forgot where I put the insurance documents. There for the insurance company says they can't send anyone to fix the bed cause it has multiple damages. The dining table I got I didn't notice one chair had a chip pretty long were you lean your feet on and well it came off eventually. All dining tables at the bottom come with busters for hight. Even if you put them all in they are uneven. They also keep coming out so it gets in even worse. I got a set of sofas and had the 3 seater made into a pull out more money. The mattress is sooo cheap and I supposedly had it upgraded you can feel the metal of the pull out I've had 2 previous ones I gave away and I so regret it. I also got a corner table its rustic cherry Woolf color. Well I that day that I wanted it they wanted to give me the one as an example it had chips and scratches and one of the employees decided to cover it up with black permanent marker and said there take it it's good and I said no I want a new one. When it got delivered I could still see that oil color black marks on it and I told them I'm not keeping this one I told the guy at the store. So take it back. I had to go personally to the whatehouse to pick one up. I did take the mattress from the couch too and told them to check my order and it was the wrong one but they also exchanged it for the same type different color. ‍ I was done at this point and I stopped paying I've been waiting for them to pick the items up cause it's disappointing when you buy insurance for damaged or scratches etc extra and they can't come to fix it or exchange one piece of an item. I have my eye instead at the MOR store. Well I actually already got a bed. Definitely recommend 10/10 and it's been like 4 months. Also got insurance on the electric base and mattress
