AND... The other half of White's Mill is an eclectic gift shop leaning heavily into local authors, artists, and products. It is a go-to for nature books for all ages as well as local nonfiction and fiction authors. It has local pottery (art and function), jewelry (especially turquoise), and quirky kitchen instruments. I only shop the Plains store when the Richland Ave store does not carry an item that the Plains store does. I have been in several times since the new owner took over and the service has been great as expected. Most of the time you can not walk into either store without someone coming up to you immediately asking if you need any help. That does not happen at Lowes or Menards.
