I once came to pick up with a child hitting another child and the teacher doing nothing to stop it. I had to ask her to intervene. The owner and directors have poor communication and we aren't given emails to the owner or director, just one general email. I wish we could leave, but don't want to just pull out because of friendships established in the class (and no space in other centers anyways). Frankly, I am devastated that I choose abundance over another center when we were choosing daycare/preschool options-- family friends at other centers seem more pleased with the care and education their child is receiving elsewhere. Please see through the smoke and mirrors that they present to prospective families. This center appears very poorly run.

On the surface level, Abundance seems like an amazing option for childcare. They tout a curriculum…read morethat combines Reggio Emelia, Waldorf and many other education styles that are hard to find in Laramie. In the year that our children attended, the school management attracted some of the best daycare and preschool teachers we've ever experienced. However, our happiness with the center was short-lived. The truly talented teachers seldom stay longer than a few months. In the year that our toddler was in the toddler classroom, he had 4 main teachers. The management make frequent changes to policy that are not communicated clearly to parents including making parents agree to a school year contract and a non-compete (parents are not allowed to open their own daycare - um, what?). The management of the school is disorganized and lacks administrative experience. They seem to rely on their "vision" more than actually running the school. The school is one of the most expensive in town, but does not provide lunch or snacks (a policy that was changed with very little notice), the building is old and the teachers have to leave classroom windows open to avoid a gas smell that fills the classrooms, and the summer program is an absolute nightmare. Last year they hired one, college-aged young woman who clearly had no experience with kids and then gave her a group of 20, which she frequently took on walking trips all around town. The teachers who are still at the school seem defeated and are subjected to the same unpredictable changes and behavior that we saw. They are also required to sign non-competes and one teacher that I know of was fired for babysitting for a center family after hours. It's truly a shame because some of the teachers are so, so good. If they were in a supportive environment, there's no doubt they could be one of the most competitive daycares here. If you're looking for childcare in Laramie, proceed with caution before choosing Abundance.

I submitted a babysitting request three days prior to our trip, for two different segments on the same day. The idea was that we could take our older boys to the hot springs (that our 16 month old would think was sheer boiling horror) and then during the evening my husband and I could have a date night. Jaiya called us a few hours after submitting the request, and set us up with the same sitter for both segments, which I found comforting. I also asked her to provide me with a personal reference for our sitter, Lauren. She provided a reference in a very professional manner. I cannot- really cannot- speak more highly of Lauren. She engaged my kiddos with puzzles, walks, snacks, etc. and she asked great questions and was obviously interested and concerned with being sure they were happy and taken care of. She even made sure to organize their toys and tablets neatly and provide me with feedback about what they did during their time together. The rate was also right our par with other companies. She initially refused a tip but I insisted because you cannot put a higher value on the people taking care of the most important beings in your life. I will be sure to call up steamboat babysitting company for all my future steamboat vacations, and request lauren specifically. Thanks for making our vacation so wonderful!

I rarely leave reviews for businesses but when it comes to what this daycare did i feel like it's…read morein the best Intrest of the children. Its our jobs as a parent to speak up. I went to pick up my LO and overheard one of the teachers yelling at one of the kids in a very hostile angry matter and it made me extremely concerned so I call DFS to bring it to their attention that I think that they needed to go speak with this teacher (which I honestly feel this lady should be fired and not aloud to work with children) because obviously nobody else was going to do anything about it all they said was sounds like she's having a bad day today but it scared me and I would be pissed if it was my kid that they were yelling at like that so because of this matter they called me and told me that my child was no longer allowed there and they were kicking her out of daycare that I needed to come pick her up and all of her things. Luckily I've been having concerns about this daycare before that happened with their cleanliness it stunk really bad in there it didn't seem clean at all the teachers don't seem like they should be working with kids and every time I picked my child up my child was soaked and went through a ton of clothes and she would be in other ppls clothes which is extremely odd bc she doesn't have accidents at home she is potty trained, they also have a ton of write ups and reports and things going on on the DFS site more than any of the other day cares around here that I've noticed at least the ones that I've seen (which is a lot) but still wasn't a reason to kick my child out of daycare I think that just shows there's more going on that there afraid of getting in trouble or something. Anyways thanks for reading and good luck with everyone's daycare search.
