This is a really nice Safeway…read more I couldn't believe how clean it was. Nice polished floors, wide aisles, and well organized. We went there for flowers and they had a really good selection. When I commented to the manager about what a great store it was, he was very appreciative. I asked him if it was a new store. He said, no. I was so surprised. The only thing that showed the store's age was there were no self check out registers. Regular checkout was speedy and friendly. Anyway, you all know what a grocery store is. This is a nice one, with a personable staff.

They will make a custom sandwich and package up a salad too. Loads of prepackaged meats- ham, Turkey, chicken, roast beef several different styles and brands. Shelves were full on almost everything, we did grab the last container of Lysol Wipes. Lots meats and fish on sale, that helps the budget. On our list were many specific items that I'd never seen- they had them all. Treat: Cowboy Cookies oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips. Chewy and good $3.79 for a bag Fun stuff too: flowers, balloons, iced cupcakes Store was not crowded at all - Tuesday 3pm and the staff and checker were so helpful and cheerful! Great experience.

There seems to be a limited selection of other items as well, like vegetables and frozen foods. However, I like when the item that I was going to buy anyways is on sale, and this happens to be the case with the Dramamine that I bought! Big score there. Good selection of Mexican items. My friend enjoyed the mozzarella sticks that come with jalapeño in them, too. This market seems to cater very well to the local community in terms of selection. I think the reason I'm not as impressed is because I'm from more urban areas.

August 17, 2026 - Cortez, CA…read more We were able to find everything on our list--and then some--but some items were surprisingly difficult to locate. The store is huge, and we didn't see many employees available to point us in the right direction. Fortunately, we were able to use the app to locate what we needed once we figured out where the different sections were located. Prices were reasonable, and there was a wide variety of items to choose from. The store was quiet and low-key when we first arrived, which made for a pleasant shopping experience. Unfortunately, as we were finishing up, a large group of high school students came in and were yelling and running through the store. There didn't seem to be much supervision, which made the experience considerably less enjoyable.

So for that my trip to this Walmart wasn't great. Therefore I will not be returning. Waste of time, money, and -3 customers

Hint, hint to the owners. It's a little pricy and alot of people in the community really can't afford the prices. This is not Scottsdale, and so maybe a compromise somewhere in the middle? Anyway, I liked being able to buy some local things like Blue Bird flour (which we can get in Food City!!) and the ach'ii' is pretty good. Where else are you going to find that in a grocery store. We do the best we can with what we have, and so - all things considered it is a pretty decent place.
