We were out in this beautiful part of the country and decided to go to Four Corners, while I will tell you Four Corners isn't much to write home about the Indigenous folks selling their jewelry are a wealth of information and incredible to talk to. One recommended we drive into Teec Nos Pos to the Trading Post. Teec Nos Pos is everything you want it to be and more. A museum, a butcher, a convenience store, a drugstore, an art gallery, a library, a gas station. It's the most happening place for miles. You can still buy music on CASSETTE TAPES! You can buy Cactus Cooler in the can! Medicinal herbs in baggies prepared by a medicine man for all sorts of ailments. The real treat is, make sure you're not too muddy, and go in the artist room. You will see color ways, rugs, jewelry, all hand made by local artisans. We bought a gorgeous color way for a very fair price. We got to see the community coming in for gas and snacks. It was probably one of my favorite moments of our entire trip. read more

Such a cute little tchotchke shop and the owner was so friendly and chatty! Plenty of space for us to park our RV and camp overnight, dog friendly, and the truck stop was right there for food. Prices on Nee Mexico swag were fair, we will definitely stop there again! read more

A great spot to stop in for authenticity! We were cruising along US Highway 64 when we passed an unassuming trading post. We had already passed one that has closed long ago and another that had almost nothing in it. This was our third try. When we walked in we knew Teec Nos Pos Trading Post was the real thing though. It was very much a general store of groceries and supplies. As I walked around the main room I noted that there was as much supplies to make products and tourist knickknacks as there was actual gift shop style items. There was a whole section of textiles, I only wish I knew how to make stuff that way. There was plenty of souvenir items too though. From jewelry to dolls to clever items as well. They even had shirts with the tribes name on it even which was pretty cool. We wandered the items and spent more time in there than we actually planned to but that's because it was more interesting than we expected. There may be another good one, but if you want to stop in a trading post in AZ I would recommend Teec Nos Pos. read more

Since there are no serious reviews, here goes. At, and before, the turn of the last century during the period the government set up the core trading posts, the Navajo finally allowed a trading post at Teec Nos Pos. Each of the major towns on the reservation created distinctive rug styles that would appeal to people in the East. They left the traditional patterns behind. The Teec Nos Pos is distinguished by the geometrical shapes and the distinctive border. I included a picture of a traditional Teec, and one of the finest rugs I've ever seen. At 30K, too much for me. I'll survive with the raised outline Teec I have now that is also a spectacular piece. In case I didn't mention it, there are pieces there that are a thousand miles from the local trinkets you may purchase. So, to this place. This is the real McCoy. You can see the piles of rugs that have been traded for food. If you need to purchase materials to make a rug, or other jewelry, things are here. Slow down. Look. Join the slower pace this place flows as. Try to appreciate one of the original places still doing business as it was done 50 years ago. This is not a museum like Ganado. Authentic: 'The Real Deal!' Teec Nos Pos is not only an actually reservation, region, and trading post but one of the three celebrated design styles of authentic Navajo Weavings (including rugs). Look carefully at the weavings here and attempt to learn about the individual weavers. My dad purchased or was given a large Tech Nos Pos rug/weaving in the early 1960's when three friends, a pilot, physician, and a dentist flew a small Cessna airplane from Southern California to this region on weekends to provide health services to the local people. This is one of the most legitimate and interesting trading posts we have found. It serves as a local market and sells a quality array of Navajo made art and jewelry. Ask to see the art room to access the true gems. We enjoyed talking with the owner John and left with two really cool Navajo sheep to join our family at home. read more

A welcome oasis! I had heard there was a trading post worth seeing out here and stopped by after visiting the four corners monument. These guys have gas, food, groceries, and much more. I Bought a few Navajo crafts as souvenirs but these guys also have very high end Navajo rugs, turquoise jewelry, pottery and art. Very cool. Definitely worth the stop! We stopped the Trading Post to look at smaller Navajo woven rugs. The staff was super helpful and very nice. We ending up buying rug and received a nice discount. The trading Post is very nice with many nice items for sale and has very clean restrooms. It was a very nice experience and we hope to return. read more

My boyfriend and I were leaving Four Corners and were on our way into New Mexico when we stopped here for gas. It didn't look like much. I'm so glad I went in. The staff is super friendly. Very helpful, informative, and sweet. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted warmly and helped out. They had a huge selection of turquoise jewelry and Pendleton products for pretty decent prices. If you're in the area, I recommend not passing by. read more

After spending four days going through the Hopi and Navajo reservations in Arizona, this was by far the best trading post. Lots of jewelry, baskets rugs new and old. The people that work there were very nice and helpful. read more
