This year, a week before my birthday I got an email saying I received a free donair for my bday and so as I was already in the area that morning around lunch hour, I popped in and showed jordan the email, to which he said he couldn't see it on their system and then suddenly became abrasive and implying I was trying to scam them (for a free donair lol).... I shrugged my shoulders and left, not knowing who he was as I usually have frequented there at night, and had never seen him during those hours. I popped back in to ask who he was as I intended on leaving a google review to inform others of this experience, and he retorted "im the OWNER, do whatever you gotta do! i can even give you corporate's number....i dont really care".... I ordered off of Uber Eats, the donairs didn't have sauce abd were very greasy. The taste was good, but needed sauce.

So this was actually a Donair place recommended to me by a friend! Might I say, his suggestions was spot on. It's a little out ways for people on the west end but honestly it is VERY worth it. I definitely want to make this my new Donair place. And okay I know I say this with every Donair and I always say I found the best one but this one is really very good. It's up there with Marcos for sure. But before I jump into the food - yes there's lots of parking and no it isn't hard to find. There's a good amount of seating inside but I'm a "take your donair home and eat it under 5 blankets, watching movies" type of gal. So anyways , the main things about this donair that make it really cool, really good and unique: 1. There are a bunch of different kinds of donairs which I don't see anywhere! So if you're not feeling classic you can do fried onion or jack cheese or whatever you want which is very cool 2. It's subway style so you get to see and choose what you want on top! This totally caught me off guard and I all of a sudden had no idea what was in a donair but it was a cool experience 3. Their sweet sauce is not in your face. It's there and it's good but it's WAY less powerful than other places. Usually I wouldn't like that but you know what it just made it better in my opinion. Their pita was on the smaller side so I was a little worried about this guy falling apart by the time I got home but the lady wrapped it like a damn vet and it was a masterpiece even after transport. I was so happy with the donair - it was amazing and not too filling. I didn't feel sick, there wasn't too much sauce and the meat was seasoned just beautifully. It was so flavorful. Their fries and onion rings were freakin bomb too - same seasoning and I worked so well. Next late night donair trip you wanna make it HAS to be here. I've been going to basha's when they had one location in Leduc. Unfortunately it is getting more and more disappointing, we do donair night at least once a month and get the family meal for 4 but instead of having it prepared there we take it all home and everyone can make a donair for themselves, I always get extra sweet sauce and extra pitas we'll today was the worst yet the extra sweet sauce that's $2 was not the original size but a little single serve and the vegetables are not even enough for 4 donairs!!. It's so sad when a business franchises and the quality is not kept up. read more

I saw good reviews and was in the area. Turns out it's your typical donair shop. Don't go out of your way. I ordered the Ashley Hangover because it promised to be "loaded with meat, drowned in sweet sauce." The cashier asked if I wanted extra sauce on it and I said yes assuming that's what "drowned in sweet sauce" meant. Nope. She changed me for extra sauce. I stopped her and literally pointed to the menu behind me. I explained that I ordered that specialty donair because it specifically mentioned being "drowned" with sauce so one would assume that extra sauce was already included. They were good about it and reversed the charge. The cook did add extra sauce but in the end the donair was still dry (likely due to the meat being sliced long before my order and warmed up for 60 seconds or so). Food is good. Wrapped well. We ordered the donair and shawarma. I think the shawarma was better. Their donair isnt great but good enough. There's something off, i cant pinpoint what the issue is. But their donair sauce is really good. We also had corn fritters. The corn fritter is ok, more like a fried dough. I barely saw or tasted any corn. read more

Absolutely fantastic food, quick efficient service. The portion sizes exceeded my expectations considering the prices. Value is 10/10 for what you're paying for. My biggest comment on most donair shops is that they slice the meat too thin making the wrap dry and that they are over sauced, however at Basaha's this is not the case. Perfectly balanced meal with the pickled turnips giving the crunch and acid to cut trough the fatty spiced donair meat. Couldn't say a bad thing about this place, keep it up! read more

The Food here is great but not an everyday place that you would go. I would consider this restaurant to be a go to late night and/or morning hangover order from Skip. We were in the Saddleback neighbourhood so we stopped in at the little mini-mall and thought we would try Basha Donair. Husband went in first to see if it was worth it before we got the kids all unbuckled. Back in a minute he said it looked great. And it was! Nice and clean, and a menu with lots of variety. The kids shared a small donair and a plate of chicken fingers and fries. They loved it! Husband went for the Sasquatch which was a donair so big it could literally feed the whole family! We almost had to be rolled out of there! It was quiet, the hockey game was on and it was overall really pleasant. Kids are welcome and there was actually a decent kids menu. I found this place when I was searching for, of all things, fried pickles. They were open on a Sunday, it was close, so off I went. I got the large donair combo, and upgraded the fries to fried pickles. You get to choose your topping for the donair, and a choice of three sauces. Everything was soooo good. Somehow the donair had a smoky flavour, and the fried pickles were exactly what I was looking for. 4 stars, but would have been 5 stars if there was more sauce, and a couple more pickle spears (I think it was $5 for one and a half pickles). read more

Called in wanting to make an average first order of 2 medium pizzas and 2 donairs. Asked the Filipino lady what type of chicken they use for donairs and pizza. She said she didn't know so I asked to speak with a manager. She proceeded to continually say that she's the boss and the cook but wouldn't verify the type of chicken. Weird to say the least.. Decided I wasn't going to order from the clowns but called back to try and speak to a real manager. I have been a customer for the last 8 months. The Best Donair I have had in long long time. They have a 'Sasquatch Donair' very tasty. Weighs well over a pound, a good size portion at least 20 ounces, it's about $15. They have all the sauces and 10 different toppings, as well. I will continue going to their fine establishment. Kinda disappointed in this particular Basha store (Blue Quill) I work out by Nisku, so I've enjoyed the Leduc location many many times (their 1st store), and then the Nisku location (2nd store). Both had exactly same quality food, and volume - hugely tasty (I like the seasoned onions) and size of food orders were large and consistent in size. Try a "Sasquatch", I dare you... Leduc and Nisku are great when you're hungry and you want a good tasting Donair. Prices are slightly high, but with the sizes you're getting it's quite ok by me. However... went to newest location (3rd of the franchise) on 116 st and 28 ave (Blue Quill neighborhood), and was sadly disappointed... Took family of 4, and we all had different items. They prep their food similarly / ie their trays had same type of items as the other stores - so they had same taste for food. Volume however was way off... Each donair was 60% of the size of the Leduc and Nisku locations... Poutine was similar - not as large. Thumbs down - you're not getting what you're paying for here. The fries and donair are really good but the second time I came to pick up my order (using skip the dishes) they were seemingly upset that I didn't specifically pick a sprite for the can of pop with my order (as I ordered because drink options are more limited on skip the dishes for some reason) when the first time they TOLD me I could pick any can. The third time they had the can of sprite waiting outside of the fridge to ensure I didn't choose different. The staff doesn't speak much english, but they're nice. The place is a family run business. The food takes forever to prepare and tastes just about average. The portions are alright for the price. I had the pleasure of trying this amazing donair joint today. My Fiance and I ordered 2 donairs with fries and gravy. My goodness it was delicious. I'm very picky with my donairs (and sweet sauce), and this place exceeded my expectations. The perfect amount of spice in the donair meat. Completely fresh and not soggy at all. Too bad the experience at the Blue Quill shop of Basha Donair does not match the quality or tastiness of the Leduc Basha shop? The service is disorganized and frantic, and as a result the quality of the donair is not as good as it could (or should be). The donairs are slapped together very quickly and in a mess. The french fries are not fresh. Hopefully this place will get better over time, but I would not consider the food preparation, service or overall experience of the Edmonton location as good as the Leduc shop. read more

We have ordered from here twice now. My wife had her first donair two weeks ago and has been dying to try it again. She just got the big donair with donair sauce and lots of different veggies $10. The amount of meat is amazing and they can barely roll the donair up. My falafel was great. They took out the falafel mix and made the balls and the fried them right in front of me. The sauces were great, tahini, sesame and tatziki. Lots of veggies and the pink turnips are tasty. We order chicken shawarma, the rice tasted exactly like minute rice and the chicken was too dried and no taste. Nothing short of five stars! Best donair I have ever eaten in the south side! Meat is delish and flavourful, portions are Very generous, and the sweet sauce is done just right! I always order the donair poutine. It's divine - I don't even know how else to explain it. They usually give you freshly cooked fries (another plus!) and pile it with donair meat, shredded cheese and gravy, then your option of sweet or garlic sauce. By the time you get to your table and start digging in, the cheese is all melted and gooey and mouthwater-y! A must try! read more
