I moved to Germany recently so I stopped training with (BigRed Strength) Nicol a few months ago,…read morebut I wanted to share what a huge difference she's made in my life. When I first started training with her in October I was so nervous about everything. Looking silly while using the equipment, having poor form, being in a room full of fit people while being unfit, you name it and I was probably nervous about it. I've been to the gym before but I never have stayed consistent because of just feeling like I wasn't supposed to be there. Shooffz and Nicol most importantly really changed that for me. She helped me understand all of the equipment, taught me all about proper form, fixed my diet, and overall just motivated me. Additionally, my cholesterol before I started training with her was way above the end of the normal range. Even after it being a few months without me working out or dieting it's now in a safe range and I know I have Nicol to thank for that. On top of all of that, yesterday I went to the gym for the first time since moving and another trainer complimented me on my form (I wonder who taught me that?). So I just wanted to share this for anyone wondering who they should train with at the gym or if it's worth it, the answer is train with Nicol and it's absolutely worth it.

If you like a workout that actually pushes you, this place delivers. I dropped in for a HIIT group…read moreclass and left drenched, smiling, and feeling like I'd actually accomplished something. The setup is circuit-style -- think quick-paced stations, great energy, and a coach who keeps everyone motivated and on track. The vibe inside totally surprised me. Once class starts, the lights dim and you get this club-style glow that makes the whole workout feel like an experience instead of just another sweat session. The energy in the room was contagious -- everyone was in it together, and the instructor's energy was top tier. Now, fair warning: finding this place is a little bit of an adventure. Your GPS will take you to Ace Hardware, but don't stop there -- keep driving around the left side and all the way to the back. You'll hit another small plaza tucked behind it. Look for a sign that says Circuit Training with a little "TV" logo -- that's Top View. Once you find it, it's worth it. Tough to locate, but once you're in the door, it's one of those workouts that makes you want to come back for more.

Get yourself ready for work. You will get what you put into it…read more I was guilted by colleagues to come, and came out a better more humbler person for it. This gym is stocked with functional fitness equipment and is set up for tens of folks to get their WODs done. The Saturday morning WOD was a serious test of character and the first of future visits to get me back into shape. Top: Try your best but don't overdo it on the first day either. Your more likely to come back if you don't injure yourself. The facility has a front desk and glass doors in the front and in the back there's more parking spaces but on Saturday morning we used the space to wheel out the cardio equipment, assault bikes and rowers. Towards the back there is a bathroom for one and two functioning water fountains. You will be wall balling weighted smash balls, lifting Olympic barbells with rubber weights, kipping and toe touching from pull up bars, stepping (or jumping) onto boxes...it has everything. Right off of north Doniphan, and behind a daycare center. You can find plenty of parking spot. Drop by...

Not My Hottest Hotworx Experience -- Literally or…read moreFiguratively I really wanted to like this location as I'm in love with the entireHotworx franchise. Two of the girls working were genuinely kind, but the one who helped me -- Catarina -- seemed to be having a bit of an off day (or maybe just needed a refresher on how Hotworx actually works). She gave me a handful of incorrect info, had trouble booking my class, and didn't know which ISO sessions were 30 or 45 minutes -- which led to the mildly comedic moment of me Googling it myself while she stood there. The self-service kiosk was also out of order, which didn't help. I'll give them credit for having multiple employees on duty -- that's a rare sighting in the Hotworx world -- but there's definitely some training polish needed. At one point, I asked to borrow a towel so I wouldn't slip in the shower. One staff member said, "of course," but then another came and whisked it away while I was in mid-class like it was contraband. When I asked for it back, Catarina handed it to me with the same enthusiasm one might use to pass over a used tissue. And to top it off, Catarina was vacuuming right outside my sauna during cycle class -- because nothing says "relax, sweat, and center yourself" quite like the hum of a Dyson. I ended up turning my music up and just laughing at the absurdity of it all. I was disappointed there was no "El Paso " Hotworx swag either . I would've loved to snag some retail. I do appreciate that the studio was staffed and visibly clean, but the overall vibe felt disorganized and unwelcoming. Honestly, I think if someone else had given me the tour and helped me with class setup, this review might have gone in a totally different direction. Side note ; Parking can be difficult to find here. This location is also in the corner , from certain street views it's completely invisible driving by Piedras Street.
