On Wednesday we arrived in the afternoon and quickly got our campsite situated. Our car was parked near our campsite but we still had to walk things over to the campsite. We got campsite 110 and it was relatively private, considering how tight the spots are packed. The campsite doesn't have any shade but there was lots of space for tents. Since we were camping during the middle of the week the park wasn't super swarmed and that was a nice bonus. All other campers were quiet at night and I had zero noise complaints. Ive heard that rowdy campers can ruin the experience, but thankfully that wasn't the case. It was January but the weather wasn't too bad, but the wind does feel cold after a while. There's no water source at the campsite. The nearest stores are back in town, which is a 30-40 min drive back to town. I swung by Ryan Campground and Hidden Valley Campground but this one seemed like the best option, its centrally located and near lots of hikes and points of interest. For souvenir's, check out the Joshua Tree Visitor center that's near the West Entrance of the park. I would definitely stay here again, the rock formations were awesome and surreal.

The woman at the front desk was incredibly rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. Instead of feeling welcomed, I felt like I was an inconvenience for simply asking questions. As a disabled Army veteran, I value businesses that treat people with courtesy, respect, and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I've rarely encountered an employee who made me feel so unwelcome. Family campgrounds should be places that promote hospitality and make guests feel appreciated. Based on my experience, this campground failed to meet those expectations. I chose to take my business elsewhere and support a place that respects families, veterans, and potential customers. I hope management takes customer service seriously and addresses how guests are treated because no one should leave a simple inquiry feeling disrespected.

Also, we felt safe walking our dog at night with lights and security. Very clean restrooms and facilities spread out throughout the property. Unfortunately, we arrived at night both times so we did not have time to try all of the amenities but the pool area and gym looked great. After hours check in was easy, and communication from staff was very helpful. The dog park was great, our yellow lab enjoyed running free in the morning! Overall, we'd definitely come back!

During our stay, we had several RVs together as a group, and it seemed to create some tension with nearby resident who are used to a much quieter environment. I think the experience would be better for everyone if visitors and long-term residents were placed in separate areas whenever possible. It would allow vacationers to relax and enjoy their stay while also respecting the peace and quiet that full-time residents expect. Other than that, we had a wonderful time and would definitely consider returning.

Surrounded by massive rock formations, it feels secluded, quiet, and incredibly raw -- like you're camping inside a natural stone cathedral. The campsites are well spaced, giving you privacy and that true desert solitude. No RV hookups, no noise, no distractions -- just rocks, sky, wind, and silence. This is real camping, not a parking lot with tents. Sunsets here are unreal, and at night the stars are absolutely breathtaking. If you're into hiking, climbing, photography, or just disconnecting from everything, this place is perfect. You can step out of your tent and immediately feel like you're deep in the wilderness. Facilities are basic but clean and well maintained, which is exactly what you want in a place like this. Indian Cove isn't for everyone -- and that's why it's special. Highly recommended for anyone who wants an authentic Joshua Tree experience
