He noticed a few items we would need to repair/address that the other companies did not look for. Strait Edge's pricing is the perfect balance between quality and value. We had some repairs which required that were move intensive than we originally anticipated. Blake and his team took care of us and you cannot tell the repair was needed. Despite the repairs being more involved than originally anticipated the work was still completed on time. With the additional repairs the pricing needed to be adjusted to account for the extra work. He was upfront about the additional costs, they were very fair, and ended up being lower than I had anticipated. I will absolutely be reaching out to Blake and his team when we need additional flooring work done.

I eventually removed all the carpeting and tack strips myself and disposed of it. I bought the new flooring from Floor and Decor and delivered it to our home. I did negotiate a price that was acceptable and scheduled the installation. The day for the install came but no workers showed up. I called mid day to find out what was going on and was told the worker had a family emergency and was gone for the day. He would be back tomorrow and start my job. (Why didn't I get a call to tell me he wasn't coming?) The second day came and he was late arriving, then had to leave to take a tool to another job. At the end of the day he had to leave early for an appointment. Day three came and he showed up at 6:20am to start working without telling us he would be here that early. They started work and made so much noise that I received complaints from my neighbors (I live in a multi family condo building). That day he stayed here until 8:00pm to get the job done because the next day the boss had him scheduled for another job. Our job wasn't finished yet. The worker told me to call the boss and get the completion scheduled. I called, I texted, I tried e mail and got no response for days. When I finally reached him, a discussion was had about the job and how "Happy" I was. I told him about some defects and he argued with me that was my fault for buying the products from Floor and Decor. He wanted to argue about everything and was very rude on the phone. Eventually the workers came back to finish the job but that was three weeks later and it took them another 2-1/2 days to finish. I spoke to the workers about the boss' attitude and I won't post what they had to say about him, so you can figure out it wasn't a compliment. I will not recommend doing business with Straight Edge Flooring. We do have problems with the installation in the fact that they didn't follow the manufacturer instructions and a couple areas were damaged by their tools. But according to the Boss, that is my problem for buying items from Floor and Decor. The problem is they installed the flooring without the necessary expansion gap at the ends, Were not careful with their tools and gouged and scratched the flooring, and the boss is less than a nice guy to deal with. In my opinion, this is another business that won't be in business very long.

Scott was here, first thing in the morning, to introduce us to his crew chief, provide guidance and suggestions to ensure we had a great experience. The crew that did our work was awesome. I have been a loyal customer of Poblocki Paving for years. I few years ago (2024) I had them…read moreresurface my driveway. After about six months the asphalt starting peeling. I call them and spoke with Jill and talked to her about it and she said "yes, they had other people this had happened to and they are working on it". At the same time I was having my home insulated by USA Insulation and their their truck spilled chemicals over my newly done driveway. So I had two problems with the same driveway. USA Insulation agreed to pay for their portion of the damage in multiple stages if necessary regardless of the price. Poblocki drafted a letter which was signed by USA Insulation and Pobocki promising to supervise the redoing of the driveway. I called numerous times trying to get some idea when this was going to get resolved and heard nothing. Finally I received a call from Jill telling me that Poblocki was selling the business and she would get back to me after everything was settled. Jill called last March telling me that they are now ready to proceed and as soon as two of her people have returned to Milwaukee they would be out to evaluate the current condition and they would move forward. I would not have to be home to meet with them. In April their crew was here for four hours power washing the driveway. I assumed they were preparing it for the work to be done. Since then I heard nothing. Last week I call Poblock and was told that Jill quit her job and that they would get back to me. I explained everything, again. I have heard nothing and am fearful that my next step is to hire an attorney to pursue them which is unfortunate since they have a financial commitment from USA Insulation and the only balance would have to come from them to cover the defective asphalt they applied which caused the problem. So anyone thinking Poblocki Paving whose reputation was always "the best" is going to stand behind their name and service needs to think twice before hiring them. It has been a dreadful situation for any homeowner to struggle through. They just don't care. I attempted to upload photos of the damaged driveway but had difficulty. I will keep trying.

We recently had Heartwood Custom Floors install new flooring in a previously sunken living room…read morethat we had a carpenter raise up. Dillion was the second installer that we talked to and we were immediately impressed with him. He was very personable and very knowledgeable of his craft. He provided an estimate with a detailed explanation of the scope of work within 2 days after our first meeting. We chose Heartwood Custom Floors over the larger established and well known competitor that we first talked to. The flooring that we needed (ash and cherry) was a special order and was delivered within the timeline that Dillion had given us and the installation began on the day he scheduled. We were told by Dillion that his brother Eric would be doing the install and just like with Dillion we were immediately impressed with Eric. Our flooring needed to installed on a diagonal to coordinate with the rest of the 40 year old flooring in our house and it needed to be done within a cherry wood border. Diagonal install is more tedious and time consuming. Eric got right to work on the project and after many hours of hard work the new wood was perfectly installed. Eric was conscientious about the color of new wood looking as good as could be with the surrounding older floor and showed us 6 different stain possibilities, one of which was custom blended and was just right. Eric also refurbished a cherry border that was in our dining room without having to redo the rest of the floor in there. Our project was completely done within the timeline provided to us. We couldn't be happier with the final results. We would not hesitate to use Heartwood Custom Flooring again and highly recommend them.
