We have had Bartlett since moving here a year and a half ago. From the beginning they have been right there when we needed them! A neighbor next door complained to me that some branches were falling in her yard so I called Bartlett and they were out within an hour to remove them from the tall oak. The costs have always been fair and the work is top notch! They have the utmost respect for each other and their customers. We were amazed after the hurricane that Miller Rambo came to our house on Sunday afternoon to check on us and let us know that they would be here quickly to remove the giant oak from our driveway so that we could leave our house Sure enough they showed up today, Tuesday and the oak is cleared to the side.of the driveway. Tried to get an estimate for tree removal and some pruning. Encountered only voice mail and left a message for the arborist to call me back. Over a week passed...nothing. Called again and managed to speak with the arborist and scheduled an appointment for the following Monday at 10:30. The appointment time came and went with no contact. Called again and receptionist tried to contact arborist by phone with no luck. Another call to the receptionist nearly an hour later and she said arborist wasn't answering his phone or calling the office. Told her to forget it as I no longer wished to do business with the company. The following morning the arborist called me, muttered an excuse that it had been raining the day before and asked if I wanted to reschedule. I guess his phone must not work when it's raining, huh? I advised him that I no longer was considering him for the job. I have no idea what quality of work this company might do and I don't plan to find out as they made it very obvious how much they don't value my time. Hire them at your own peril. read more

The entire process was efficient and pleasant. Our Arborist came out gave good advice and setup the job. The crew showed up on time and was professional and skilled. I added a tree into the job and the crew incorporated it into the day's work (after contacting the Arborist for pricing) without complaint or slowing down. Bartlett's came highly recommended by a neighbor and they certainly are very professional and experts in their field. But, at best, their performance was mediocre. I hired them to prune my shrubs since I'm getting too old for all that ladder climbing especially in this heat. Their initial quote was $1,800 and I would have been happy to pay that if their work was good. It wasn't. That works out to $100 per hour for each of three people for less than six hours work to prune over an acre of land. First thing that concerned me was the fact that they wanted me to sign a contract to do that same service three times through the end of this summer. I've lived here 15 years and have always done all the landscape maintenance myself, so it was quite a surprise when that cost went from zero to $5,400. While their crew chief, Will, did a really good job with some bushes at the bottom of my driveway, the rest of the yard was done haphazardly. Some areas were done really well, some not so much. Some bushes were pruned, some were not. And they were the same species, so I don't know why they did that. I also still have dead branches that I thought they would remove. They didn't. And the overall cleanup could have been better. I have some bushes that were planted four or five feet from the house making trimming all around them difficult. They trimmed the outside (which I have easily done myself), but not the hard-to-get-to spots between the bushes and the house. This is all partially my fault for not asking the right or enough questions, but it still is very disappointing. No one ever visited me after the fact even though I know they have been in the neighborhood and they could have easily stopped by (and actually they did, to pick up a shovel they left behind, but they never spoke with me) or called me to followup or to ask what I thought of their service. They just wanted to know when they should come out again. And finally, they never completed their part of the contract. they were supposed to spray growth retardant on selected bushes. That was supposed to happen on the same day they did the pruning. That was three weeks ago and I'm still waiting. And no, it's too late now. I'll pay their bill because I committed, but I'll never use them again or recommend them to anyone. Just all very disappointing. read more

We got a very quick response, an estimate, all work was done when expected. They cleaned up nicely.

It's pretty rare for a company these days simply to do what the customer wants and to do it well and competently. But that is what Bartlett does. We had some problems with some large, mature maple trees in our back yard. Bartlett diagnosed the problem and sent someone out to fix it. That sounds simple; but it is exactly what we needed, and it is not what we get from a lot of other companies. So we appreciate Bartlett's professionalism, knowledge, and effectiveness. read more

Tree cannot be saved. I was hoping for a different outcome but I knew better. New homes, soil is nothing but clay and everything else left behind from new construction. Mr. Rambo from Barlett is very professional and courteous; he arrived well ahead of schedule. It is evident that he is very knowledgeable when it comes to identifying trees and the care that they need to thrive. Although, he was here primarily because I was interested in tree pruning services, he offered expert advice on other plants I have in the yard. I am very satisfied with the pruning services they provided. My trees look great! They opened up the canopy of my Chinese Elm (approximately 25' tall) to allow more sunlight to filter through, which has been great for my grass. They also expertly trimmed back my neighbor's Crepe Myrtle which was growing over the fence and crowding my Magnolia tree. They did it in manner that kept the aesthetics of the Crepe Myrtle, while providing space for my Magnolia to grow and thrive. Do not use! They don't respond to emails or calls when completing jobs. They don't show up on the day they plan and don't call to let you know you've been rescheduled. Justin is not helpful at all. We asked him several times for a quote and he never responded. We then asked Nikki and again no follow up. Horrible customer service! They charged us for clean up yet cut our tress and left a mess. We had to call to have them come back and clean up. There is still dead branches laying throughout our trees. Horrible service and very expensive. read more

Mike Day and Coby arrived as scheduled, performed competently and professionally on bracing our 2 forked pine trees and removing dead and live limbs so more sun could reach our garden. They worked as a team with no wasted motion for the 4 hours they were at our property. Mike was the lead, climbing the 2 forked pine trees which needed cabling and bracing while Coby prepared the hardware required for the bracing. The 3rd pine was Coby's to climb which required pruning. Coby was relatively new and Mike was very helpful in providing advice to Coby on how to rig their ropes to lower the larger limbs (I complimented him on his management skills). Mike was particularly mindful of protecting our Bluebird house from the lowered limbs. On the conclusion of the job, our yard was cleared of all the limbs and our driveway swept of the debris after the limbs were chipped. The one, very small negative, was a garden spot light that was destroyed in the limb lowering process, not enough to reduce this rating at all. We have used Bartlett in the past, and this crews performance is typical, a praise to the company's management. read more
